Triumph Of My Cheating Husband

Chapter146

Chapter146

RYAN

We left the room, and went down stairs through the stairs.

There were elevator here, but I chose the stairs because we met Ciara in the first floor, so there was no need using the elevator when I knew I could get myself and Herzl downstairs through the staircase.

"Done?"

It was the same security guard who wanted to deny us access to the facility. His face still looked as mean as the congealed face of a corpse.

I wonder why he suddenly tossed himself into the little mess of hating my kind of person at first sight. Well, his day gets screwed every minute, either by the patients up there, or the families ofthe patients, who maybe, doesn't drop tips.

"Yes." I said, with a sizable nonchalance.

Why would I care what he had to say, when I had had my way through the CSO?

"Wait, sir."

I stopped and turned to him, though I didn't really intend to.

"Please don't feel bad about my attitude recently. I was just doing my job, but thank God the chief security officer came by and settled the rift amicably.

Nothing was settled between us, because I knew I would definitely get into that building and see Ciara whether the guard liked it or not, but I guess he was just being humane here.

"No, don't worry. I understand." I shook my head and turned as our driver pulled in and honked.

I opened the car door and passed Herzl into it, before hopping in.

"Do take care of yourself, man."

Maybe the chief security officer ruined his chance of making some money from me. That would be what he wanted to explain to me, but I was so in a hurry that I barely have time to converse with him.

"Dad, where are we going now?"

The driver had taken off, and we were currently trailing the big road when he asked that question.

For sure, I knew he wasn't comfortable being with Elsie, his mother's aunt, and I was neither comfortable with that, too.

I mean, my son should be with me, more importantly, now his mother was not there to take care of him.

Who knows what aunt Elsie makes of him while he was at her place.

"We are going to my mom's place. That's where we would be staying till mom is fine."

I had no plans to get him worried about his mom's condition, but I was quite sure he knew his mom was not alright, though he was four years old.

He smiled and rested on my arm.

He had never seen his granny before, but he was really glad to hear me tell him we were going to stay at her place.

I crossed my hand over his shoulder and pulled him close to me, so he could rest his head on my chest, notjust on my arm.

He did just what I wanted, and I smiled to the fact that we are beginning to get closer to each other.

My mom has a big house at the heart of the city, so, I was sure he would not just have enough space to have his days spent with; I was confident he would never have that piece of cake called boredom.

Here, at my mom's place, he could see the city through the windows, and his security would be assured here.

The gate to the house was a heavy piece, but it looked really light. I knew it was heavy because I used to handle the same gates in my childhood and teenage days when I usually take pleasure in helping the gate keepers get the gate when the need be.

We pulled into the compound and our driver stopped by the garden, from where we would have no issues trekking into the big house where mom stays.

"Welcome to your granny's place.

His face creased into a smile as those words left my lips.

He was glad and I could see it, clear on his face, which looked exactly like my childhood days face.

I took him in my arm once again and alighted from the car, but guess what!

As though mom was informed, she came out of her house to meet me, but she paused at seeing a younger version of me.

I had him in my arms.

"Mom." I said and approached her.

She smiled at me, but her eyes seized to leave Herzl who caught her the most.

"Mom, I brought my son home."

She knew my story with Ciara, but I didn't get her clicked on my intention to bring my son home to her.

She smiled and touched Herzl's cheek.

"Herzl, meet granny." I said and handed him over to my mom who had questions up her throat but was yet eager to have her grandchild in her arms.

"Good afternoon, granny." Said Herzl, with his fingers on mom's face.

Does he ever get the chance to Elsie?

I don't think so, but I don't think it's the right time to stand out here making queries and answering them in my mind.

"Stay with granny, Herzl, let me go get your room fixed for you."

I knew mom likes kids, and she would still come to me with questions, so, I had to leave him with her and head up for the room I wanted to make his.

The room was my childhood room, with teddy bears that used to be mine, and clothes that used to mine, too.

Those would look really good on him, and my friends, the teddy bears on the bed would keep him really company up there.

I edged my way into the room.

It was neat, because the maids did the cleaning properly all day, and the things in it looked untouched, because no one except me had been graced to use it.

Now, I'm passing it to him, and I'm sure, I would read him lullaby tonight before he goes to sleep.
