Chapter 45
Chapter 45
Sisca couldn't help but smirk inwardly. Her insinuations were clear enough, and Bianca was known for her hatred towards evil. Sisca thought, according to Bianca's personality, she should immediately show her true colors to Alessia.
However, the next moment, Bianca disdainfully opened her hand, questioning aggressively, "Are you implying that my sister-in-law pushed Miss Ramirez down the stairs? If you have something to say, just say it directly. Stop beating around the bush. Miss Ramirez is crazy, but my sister-in-law isn't. They have no grievances or disputes. Why would she push her?"
Bianca's blunt and arrogant words were a bit over the top.
Not only did Sisca's face turn ugly, but Nolan's face also darkened.
Nolan's face was as black as the bottom of a pot, and he forgot to suppress his emotions for a moment, angrily questioning, "Who are you calling crazy?"
Sisca's face turned pale, looking like she was about to cry. "Bianca, you may have misunderstood me. I was just saying what I saw. I only had good intentions."
Although Sisca's tone was gentle, she wished she could tear Bianca's mouth to pieces.
Bianca called Alessia her sister-in-law, but why? They were already divorced. Why call her sister-in-law?
And she could tell that Bianca was genuinely defending Alessia, not for Christopher's sake as she initially thought.
"Good intentions? I don't feel it at all. Why do I feel like you're just itching for this idiot to deal with my sister-in-law?" Bianca was not polite at all.
Actually, she never liked Sisca.
Before, she was polite because Sisca was the only woman who could be around her brother in recent years. She couldn't let her brother be single forever.
But things were different now, her brother had Alessia.
"Mr. Carter, will Miss Carter fight with Miss Fraser... should we go over?" David, not far from the elevator, watched the scene worriedly and asked Dominic.
Dominic had already arrived here when Alessia performed CPR.
From a distance, Dominic saw Alessia kneeling on the ground, hands straight out, pressing on the chest, focused and serious. Everything around her seemed to blur, as if none of it mattered to her.
Even though she was covered in blood from the rescue, there was no sign of embarrassment on her, but rather a layer of brilliance, extremely dazzling.
He couldn't help but stop in his tracks.
Dominic's eyes were dark and unclear. He didn't answer, just stared at Alessia from a distance, as if he was expecting what she would do next.
Alessia's eyes softened slightly. Although she didn't need help, Bianca's defense made her feel warm-hearted.
Seeing Sisca facing Bianca's questioning and starting to cry, Nolan, protective of her, hated them to the core and began to grow impatient.
Alessia sneered, "Alright, if it's proven that I didn't push anyone, Sisca, you will kneel down and apologize to me!"
Sisca turned pale, stopped crying, murmured, and didn't speak further, looking extremely aggrieved.
Nolan, heartbroken, shielded Sisca behind him, glaring at Alessia with anger and without brains.
"You evil woman, this has nothing to do with Miss Fraser. Why are you targeting her?"
Alessia said openly, "I'm not targeting her. Then I'll target you. Kneel down!"
Nolan was stunned for a moment, then widened his eyes, threatening harshly, "Say that again?"
Alessia glanced at him indifferently, looked casually at the corner of the stairs, behind the emergency light, where a red dot was flashing, indicating a camera, and said lightly three words.
"Check the surveillance."
Sisca followed Alessia's gaze and saw the small red dot. Her face turned even paler than before. She hadn't noticed the camera hidden behind the emergency light. She had just glanced at it superficially and hadn't discovered it at all.
Nolan, being brainless, truly believed Sisca.
At the moment, he didn't notice anything unusual about Sisca. He had been provoked by Alessia the entire time and was now only thinking about teaching Alessia a lesson.
He almost agreed without thinking, "Alright, let's check the surveillance."
"Young master Ramirez." Sisca, in a hurry, grabbed Nolan.
Nolan took the opportunity to pat Sisca's hand, thinking he was being affectionate, and said, "Don't be afraid, I'll help you."
Sisca cursed inwardly at the fool. If he helped her, nothing could be hidden after checking the surveillance. Although she hadn't spoken definitively just now, given this fool's character, when he lost face, he would definitely blame her.
Sisca's eyes flickered, and suddenly, without any warning, she collapsed, falling right into Nolan's arms.
Nolan nervously held onto Sisca.
Alessia sneered mockingly, thinking Sisca's acting skills were already top-notch.
Coincidentally, at this moment, a male doctor walked over from afar and stopped in front of Nolan.
"Young master Ramirez, Miss Ramirez is awake and looking for you."
After speaking, he glanced at Alessia beside Nolan, not hiding his admiration.
"Is this lady the one who performed CPR for Miss Ramirez just now? Luckily, you were here. Otherwise, Miss Ramirez might have been in real danger. Are you also studying medicine?"
The doctor's words were like a precise slap to Nolan's face. After all, he had started the trouble by accusing Alessia of improper CPR technique.
Nolan, now somewhat self-aware, picked up Sisca and was about to leave.
Seeing this, Bianca opened her hands and blocked Nolan, arrogantly saying, "Nolan, are you even a man? Didn't you hear what the doctor said? My sister-in-law saved your aunt's life. Now, kneel down and apologize."
Nolan's face turned pale, like he had entered a dyeing workshop. After a while, he remembered to use Sisca's fainting as an excuse. So, he forced a laugh and said, "Bianca, we'll talk later. I'll take Miss Fraser back to her hospital room first."
With that, he bypassed Bianca and slipped away.
"Coward." Bianca watched Nolan's retreating figure and cursed.
At the elevator, the upward-bound elevator happened to stop on this floor. The elevator door opened, and Dominic walked in.
His dark eyes were thoughtful. Today, the Alessia he saw was different from the one he had seen before.
Back then, when she married into the Carter family, she was silent and seemed uninteresting, like a background. Now, she was cunning and calculating, as sly as a fox. And now, she was serious and focused, facing accusations calmly and cleverly countering them. Each side of her was dazzling.
Dominic pressed his thin lips together, feeling inexplicably irritated.
David followed behind and also entered the elevator. He noticed Dominic's change in mood and pressed the button for the fifth floor carefully.
He had come here mainly to see Riley today. They had initially stopped by the third floor because Sisca's assistant called and said Sisca had gone missing.
David's eyes flashed with disdain. Now it seemed that she hadn't gone missing at all; she was clearly orchestrating this herself, relying on that bit of gratitude to continue. By then, the president might really ignore her.
Meanwhile, back at the scene, Alessia politely nodded to the male doctor.
The male doctor smiled and said, "Miss, Miss Ramirez wants to see you."
Alessia was taken aback and declined, "No need."
She didn't like trouble, even if it was out of gratitude.
The male doctor continued to persuade, "Miss Ramirez said that there might be some connection between you two, so she asked me to invite you over."
Alessia frowned.
Bianca became unhappy and blocked Alessia, saying to the doctor, "Can you understand what she's saying? My sister-in-law said no!"
The male doctor may not have encountered someone who spoke so directly before. He looked a little embarrassed, and then a nurse pushed a wheelchair over.
Sitting in the wheelchair was none other than Nolan's aunt.
Bianca obviously recognized Nolan's aunt. She looked puzzled and turned to ask Alessia.
"Sister-in-law, do you really know Miss Ramirez from the Ramirez family? She seems to care about you a lot. She rushed over here, probably just after getting her wound dressed, afraid you might run away."
Alessia didn't speak, her puzzled gaze falling on the woman.
The woman sat in the wheelchair, her head wrapped in white gauze, and a thin quilt covering her feet.
When she looked at Alessia, her eyes were slightly red, her voice choked with emotion. "My child, I knew you wouldn't want to see me. Are you still blaming me...?"
