Daredevil's Mistress

Chapter 33

Chapter 33

His warm, hard palm slid up her ribcage, molded around her breast, and rolled the dark nipple until it peaked. Samantha responded with a groan. Spasms of pleasure surged through her body. Intoxicated, her eyes opened and gazed into his blue ones, mirroring her love and fierce passion. “Love me, please.”

Cody took a nipple in his mouth and suckled gently. Wetting the flesh before teasing the bud with his teeth, he then nipped and sucked hard until she cried out. Her body trembled and quivered in pleasurable agony, wanting more. Her hands rushed desperately along the contours of his body and grasped his rock- hard cock. Cody groaned harshly against her nipple.

Desire, hot and fluid, charged through her veins. Samantha wanted nothing more than for him to urgently pour himself into her. To run her hands over every hard muscle, wrap her legs around his hips, and guide his hardness into her aching warmth. Her hips arched up to entice his body over hers.

A cheeky laugh vibrated against her skin as his lips skimmed down her stomach then settled between her legs. Cody slipped his hand along her leg and caressed the inside of her thigh. The sensation jolted pricks of electricity to her clit. She dipped her head back, momentarily lost. Spreading her lips, he flicked his tongue over her clit. A moan wrenched from the back of her throat. “Oh, God.”

Cody blew a hiss of warm breath over her wet pussy lips. Ripples of poignant anticipation left her breathless with an urgent need.

“Open for me, Lady?” He kissed her knee. The words, a husky request, blazed every nerve ending, and heat surged through her like rigid lightning bolts. Samantha dropped her knees, giving him better access. The man hadn’t even touched her yet the heaviness of expectation weighted her body. Pressure slowly crested and twisted in her tummy. His eyes raked over her body. The warm intensity of his gaze melted her insides, leaving goose bumps along its path. Rapt with emotions, she jerked her hips.

“Be still, darlin’.”

“Easy for you to say.” The stern retort escaped her lips in a strangled whisper. Her body insane with want. Cody rewarded her with a throaty laugh. The sexy sound grazed her body, tightened her nipples, and settled in her throbbing clit.

Gripping her thighs, his tongue laved her folds while his teeth nipped at her clit, hurling her over the edge. She spiraled out of control, grinding her pussy against his mouth. Her hands raked through his hair and grabbed fistfuls as her body bucked helplessly in response to his tongue and teeth. Samantha couldn’t help herself, couldn’t hang on. The climax blazed through her, deliciously hot and powerful.

Cody watched her lose control; so sweet, so responsive, and so passionate. He struggled for restraint. He wanted her so badly. “I need you now, sweetheart,” he growled against her thigh.

“Then take me,” Samantha begged and widened her legs in invitation.

Gulping on a shaky breath, Cody crawled up the length of her body, lowered himself gently then entered her with care. The head of his cock rubbed the opening of her pussy. Samantha lurched impatiently, gripped his hips with her legs, and forced him deeper with one strong stroke.

Her boldness rocked him. Cody shuddered with blunt fervor. “Ah, I missed you, darlin’,” he said gruffly before thrusting with deep strong strokes. She grasped his shoulders, her fingernails digging into his muscles. The pressure excited him.

“Sweet Jesus,” Cody cried out as liquid desire bolted through his quivering body. No pain only pleasure, burning but no destruction. And while a part of him believed pure lust invaded his senses once more, a major part admitted his need for her surpassed raw hankering and now a matter of the heart. Cody finally grasped the meaning of true love.

Sheer insanity drove him as he swelled wildly within her and took what she offered, hunger with a frantic need. Her body trembled, her grip tightened on his shoulders, her inner muscles clamped around his cock. Samantha matched his frantic strokes. Carnal pleasure, piquant and fiery sweltered through his body imitating a river of red-hot lava as she cried out. “I love you, Cody.”

Her declaration fueled his ardent desire. His lips covered hers the same time his hips rocked, thrusting hard, deep, and forceful. Unable to hang on, he lifted his head and cried out, “Oh, Samantha…darlin’.”

Cody stiffened as a scorching, all consuming, potent sizzle pulsated through him. It peaked, burned, and then died to a warm glowing ember as Samantha joined him in a satiated release and exploded with a resonant lurch which left them both weak and clinging desperately to one other in the aftermath.

Cody lay atop her, chest heaving. She welcomed his strength, delighted in his masculine power, and unequivocal prowess to make her tremble. The feel of his body and arms around her held the warmth of a return home after a long trip.

He rolled off her and lifted his head. “I’m sorry. I should’ve taken my time but—”

“There’s no explanation needed. I wanted you just as bad.”

Smiling, he placed a kiss on her lips. “What do you think Deborah will say if she sees us now?”

“Knowing your sister, she’d perform a victory dance. Debbie actually threatened to send Reece to fetch me.”

“For once I’m glad her threats did some good.” Cody slid a loose strand of hair away from her face.

“I almost didn’t come. If it weren’t for my mother, I’d be at home right now. Mom gave me a lengthy speech about the ways of the male species and then said I should come out here and explain everything to you.”

“There aren’t enough words in the dictionary to explain how sorry I am for mistrusting you without reason.”

“It’s okay. I’m also sorry, I ran instead of talking about it.”

“When Debbie explained, it was a sharp kick in the gut that I misjudged you. I couldn’t get to you fast enough,” he said. “I missed you like hell, Lady. Please don’t let me go through that…ever again. I don’t have any right to ask this of you but I need you right here by my side every day.”

“I missed you too. I live in South Africa, remember. Being with you every day isn’t possible. I have a life there.” Samantha rose instinctively and sat at the edge of the bed, tugging the sheet over her naked body.

“Hey, you could always move here, you know.”

Cody rolled upright, scooting next to her with an indulgent grin.

“I can’t just—”

“Oh, no.” Cody’s yell of surprise cut off her reply when his gazed landed on the bedside clock. With a quick jump off the bed, he grabbed his pants. “I’m sorry, darlin’ I promised Deborah I’d give them a farewell toast and it completely slipped my mind.” He uttered a mischievous chuckle and dressed quickly. “Can’t blame me though, I was beautifully distracted. I hate to do this, but would you be okay to continue this discussion later?”

“Sure.”

“I promise I’ll make it up to you,” he said. “Want me to wait for you?”

“And take away Deborah’s limelight? No thank you. Go on, I’ll follow shortly.”

“Okay, I’ll see you outside.” He kissed the top of her head and left the room.

In the bathroom, she washed then dressed slowly. A sense of uncertainty invaded her mind. What were you expecting? A marriage proposal? Perhaps Cody isn’t ready for marriage as yet.

“Oh, what the hell, Sam, take what he’s prepared to give and let nature take its course,” she lectured herself with a tolerant grin. A brush through her hair in haste, a quick check in the mirror, and she left the room aware of the pink flush to her cheeks.

Samantha entered the reception tent to a flurry of activity. Deborah threw her bouquet at that precise moment. It headed straight for her. Instinctively her arms lifted as it hurtled across the tent and landed in her outstretched hands. A mixture of wolf whistles and mischievous comments resonated through the tent. Fate, it seemed, did have something else in store for her after all. Samantha laughed but was robbed of any further speculation as Cody took the stage.

“Howdy, folks, it’s time, you know, speeches an’ all.” A low rumble of good-natured moaning and mumbling swept through the tent as the guests gathered in front of the stage. “The fortunate thing about giving away the bride is I get to make a speech. Unfortunately, you’ve gotta listen,” he began to hoots of laughter. The crowd listened while he acknowledged his appreciation to various people.

Nearing her friend, Samantha caught hold of her arm and squeezed it lightly. Deborah returned the affection with a smile.

“Folks, it’s hardly believable my sister actually beat me to the altar.” A drone of bubbly laughter filtered through the tent. “However, I aim to change that, soon,” Cody said, fixing his gaze on Samantha. “Debbie has given me permission, this being her day, to make it a special one for me as well. Folks, I wanna introduce you to an extraordinary lady. Samantha?” He gestured for her to join him on stage. A soft murmur trickled among the crowd.

“Me?” Samantha cast Deborah a perplexed gaze. “Go.” Deborah gave a gentle nudge forward.

Samantha proceeded up the two steps then stood beside Cody. Her eyes remained downcast then she lifted her gaze when he started speaking.

“Samantha, the reason I called you up is to personally thank you for making this day an awesome one for my sister…” Winking, he added, “…and me.” She blushed as he continued. “And there’s somethin’ important I need to say?” Puzzled, she nodded for him to continue. The crowd listened in silent bewilderment.

Cody took her hand and with a deep breath held her gaze. “Your love, darlin’, is like an addiction. Without you I’m nothin’…without you, I’m incomplete and I will be forever addicted. You’re the fire to melt my ice now and forever. I love you, darlin’.”

His husky words matched the sincere affection in his eyes.

Her eyes welled up as a tremendous rush of emotion filled every fiber of her body. Too shocked to react, her eyes widened as Cody knelt in front of her and simultaneously opened a small box he rescued from his coat pocket. “Samantha Harman, will you marry me, darlin’?”

Stunned, she gaped at him in awkward silence.

“Go on, gal, say yes, it ain’t gonna get better than that,” some frivolous guest bellowed, followed immediately by raucous laughter.

The tears fell then, her throat constricted. “Yes…yes, Cody, I will.”

“Hell, yeah, ’bout time, Cody,” Reece hollered from the back.

The crowd burst into a cheerful uproar of excited chatter and clapping while Cody slipped the ring on her finger. Straightening, he planted a possessive kiss on her trembling lips. Cody snaked an arm around her waist and held her tightly at his side.

“Hell, Cody’s a goner now,” someone called out with a playful snort.

A titter of jubilant laughter among the guests made Cody smile. “I love you.”

“I love you too.”

Samantha descended the steps and searched the room for Deborah. Spotting her, she made her way toward her friend hastily. “You knew, didn’t you?”

“Oh, Sam, I’m so glad for you. And no, I didn’t know until fifteen minutes ago when Cody came down, out of breath, and begged to use the stage.” Deborah shrugged with a devilish laugh. “A little unorthodox I’ll admit then again with Cody anythin’s possible.”

Samantha reddened. “So there was no farewell toast?”

“Huh?”

Deborah’s baffled look told Samantha Cody planned this after their lovemaking.

“By your expression I gather there’s more to his story than he let on. Hey, there’s no need for embarrassment when you’re in love.” Deborah playfully pinched Samantha’s cheek.

“Wait. If he told you fifteen minutes ago, where did the ring come from?” Confused, she slipped it off her finger. A beautifully encrusted diamond solitaire on a thick gold band and garnished on either side with small glistening emeralds.

“That, my dear friend, you’d have to ask Cody. I have no idea how he managed it.” Deborah took the ring and admired it. “It’s gorgeous. Just like my brother to choose nothin’ but the best. Wait. There’s an inscription.”

“Really? Let me see.” Taking the ring, Samantha read the inscription, “Fire & Ice.”

“How appropriate,” Deborah said. “He’s right. You sure as hell were one smokin’ hot fireball to melt that icicle.” She winked. “And I for one ain’t complainin’.”

Samantha grinned. She loved her new title, Cody’s wife. Wow. The notion filled her with excitement and anticipation. Suddenly, she couldn’t wait.

Thirty minutes later, after tearful farewells, Cody drove the bridal couple to the airport. The house grew silent, as the last of the guests left. Samantha helped Freda tidy up then retreated to her room for a relaxing hot shower.

Seated in front of the dresser, she gazed at her reflection in the mirror. “Hello, Mrs. Bentley.” She giggled. It sounded like she wanted it to…perfect.

Papa’s opinion about Cody certainly held no merit. Cody hadn’t used then discarded her like a piece of rubbish, something it seems, her father had incorrectly predicted. Abruptly, it dawned on her she owed her parents an explanation. The terse idea threw her into a panic. What would Papa say? It’s what you want, so deal with it. Despite her bold urging, her heart pounded. Another colorful show down with Papa was imminent.
