A Plaything For CEO Blackwood

# 33 Trouble in Botswana

# 33 Trouble in Botswana

I kept pulling my gown down as I walked towards my office in a hurry, I still felt exposed and I couldn’t help it. I had left to clean up in the restroom shortly after he came, barely exchanging any more words with him.

I was still puzzled as to why he acted that way. What had gotten over him? He didn't seem to be in control today, it was like he was lost in lust and couldn’t fight it. I couldn’t help but be worried about him. Was he simply horny or there was more to what happened between us today?

I was even more worried about the fact that he had cum inside me while I was ovulating. I should get contraceptives as soon as I get home today, the last thing I want to hear is that I have a baby growing in me.

The fact that I had sex with two men in less than twelve hours was troubling.

I got to my office and tossed my purse on the office chair and carefully examined my clothes for any stains I had missed. Just then it crossed my mind that he still hadn’t mentioned the text message, did it have something to do with his behavior today?

I sighed as I sank on the office chair and gently rotated it. What if Jenny was right? What if I had only imagined it? What if it was never real? But why would I imagine that? I would never want someone like Mr. Blackwood to fall in love with me. He is an opportunist, he is simply a bad person, someone who loves to take advantage of others, why would I ever want affection from such a person?

I was still lost in thoughts when my phone began to ring. It was Jimmy calling, my face lit up with a smile as I saw the caller ID and my mood lightened up immediately.

“Hey!” I said calmly.

“Hi, you are at work?” he replied from the other end. From the silence in the background, I could tell that he was still at my house.

“Yeah, why?” I blushed.

“Nothing much, just missing you already.” He chuckled and I smacked my lips.

“You sure? Or are you just playing me?” I replied and I smacked my lips.

“I mean every word of it. Can I come over to your office? You know, pick you up after work.” He asked.

I was almost tempted to say yes, but I knew it wasn’t a rational thought. I wasn’t going to leave my car behind at the company.

“Um…. Nope, sorry.” I said and paused, almost sensing his disappointment immediately. “But… you can probably bring me lunch in a few hours, I would be working late and I can do with some of your home-made noodles.” I smirked.

“Hmm, so you choose my noodles over me?” he asked with a hint of sarcasm and feigned anger.

I giggled immediately. “It is not my fault that you make good food.”

“Fine, at least I get to see you. expect me with a flask in a few hours, twelve pm at the latest.” He announced.

“Okay then, looking forward to that.” I replied and bit my fingers.

He hummed and then there was silence on the other end. I kept rotating the chair while waiting for him to end the call, but it just kept on reading while he said nothing. After about forty seconds, I burst into laughter.

“Come on, aren’t you going to end the call?”

He laughed. “Nah, I just wanted to hear the sound of your breath for a few more minutes.”

“I have work, Jim.” I immediately feigned seriousness, “Bye.” I added.

“Okay fine, bye for now, I love you.” he said in a sputter of words.

“Okay,” I replied bluntly, trying to stir more drama.

“Okay? Just okay?” he queried immediately, not hiding his displeasure.

“Yeah… Was I supposed to say something else?” I giggled. “Bye Jim.” I added and immediately hung up the call.

My face brimmed with a smile as I stared at the phone screen, I had already resaved his number with my gummy bear.

I don’t know what the future holds for us, but I am certain that Jimmy plays a role in it. He was my second boyfriend, but my first true love, I doubt anyone could replace him in my life.

The phone's relentless ring pierced the peaceful hum of Mr. Blackwood's office, breaking his concentration. His brow furrowed in anxiety as he looked at the caller ID. It was a call from his employees at the Botswana diamond mine, and he knew that any call from them during their regular working hours had to be urgent.

“They better not have messed this up.” He growled and took the call.

"Hello Sir, I hate to announce that we have a situation here," the voice on the other line uttered, a little anxiously. "There's been a misunderstanding with the local villagers regarding the boundaries of our mining operation."

Mr. Blackwood's heart dropped. Territorial disputes were widespread in the mining industry, particularly in areas where customary land rights were complex and frequently contested. He was well aware that these disagreements might soon develop, compromising the company's operations and putting his employees in danger.

"How serious is it?" he questioned, his voice steady despite his mounting anxiety. He had always known how to maintain and keep his emotions calm regardless of the situation.

"It is bad, Sir. The villagers have blocked our access to the disputed area, and they're refusing to negotiate," the worker went on to say. "We're unable to continue operations until we resolve this matter, Sir."

Mr. Blackwood's thoughts raced as he considered his alternatives. He was well aware that his company's diamond mine in Botswana was a critical asset, and that any disruption in operations could have serious financial ramifications. But he also recognized the significance of honoring local customs and traditions, and he didn't want to aggravate the situation by acting hastily.

“What is Darky doing about it?”

“Sir, the GM of the site has been nowhere to be found in the past few days.” He announced.

Mr. Blackwood growled immediately. He always knew Darky was not qualified for the job but had given it to him for the sake of his uncle.

"In that case, you are the GM now, if anyone has a problem with that, let me know. I'll be in Botswana on Friday," he resolved, his voice solid with the decision. "And in light of that, I'll need you to provide me with a detailed account of the situation and any relevant documentation."

"Thank you, Mr. Blackwood," the employee said, his voice relieved as well as excited at his new promotion. "I will inform the workers right away.”

“Good.” Mr. Blackwood said nonchalantly and then hung up the phone, his mind already working on a solution to the Botswana territorial conflict.

Maxwell was always aware that this journey would be difficult, but he was confident in his ability to find a solution that would meet both the interests of his company and the rights of the local villagers.

He got up from the chair immediately and closed his laptop. He needed to go to Anna’s office and instruct her to get his visa and other necessary documents ready, and she needed to make reservations for his arrival in Botswana two days from now.
