Chapter 127
Chapter 127
ADRIA’S POV.
I took it out, and happiness flooded my heart. The happiness I had felt when I had received it.
The fact that those memories could be happy memories that I wanted, brought tears to my eyes. I couldn’t remember. Why? Why was I feeling so happy just by seeing a tumbler?
Then, as I kept on studying it. The memory had become clear. Lucien had given me the tumbler. I turned to him wondering why he would give me a tumbler, smiling when we were enemies, and then, I recalled his name.
With the recollection of his name, everything suddenly hit me like a blast. I recalled lots of faces, and everything about me. I became myself.
How had I lost control, and killed those helpless humans? How?
And why was I about to kill Lucien?
“Lu… Lucien.” I called, but it was so hard to speak. My throat was dry, and unused. He looked at me with relief, and joy flooding his eyes, and I tried hard not to break down.
“Lucien.” I called again, and my breath came out in hitches. My hand found his face, and the tears I tried so hard to keep, fell down my eyes. “I… I didn’t know it was you. I… I didn’t know, I…” I couldn’t go on, I burst into tears.
Mixed feelings. Happiness, and guilt.
I was happy it was finally over.
The thing I had been looking for was actually someone, and it was the one I had loved, since forever. I hadn’t recognized him, and had almost killed him.
“Adria.” He called, smiling, then we kissed.
We kissed for a long time, and when we released each other, I looked around, and saw everyone staring at us in shock.
I got to my feet, and so did Lucien.
He nodded, and went to meet his men, and I went to meet mine.
“Who am I?” I asked, and they all sank to their knees once more.
“The Queen!” They chorused.
“Today, the wolves, and Lycans are no longer our enemies. We will cooperate for a better world.” I addressed, and they looked at each other in confusion. “Whoever intends to defy me can come forward.” I added, and their gazes fell to the ground.
“The wolves, Lycans, and humans, as I said, will no longer be species we detest. They are neither enemies nor prey. This is the new law.” I announced, and they looked up at me, one after the other, with determination in their eyes. “Whoever breaks it, gets death.” I added, and they all chorused in affirmation.
“Yes!”
Then I smiled.
I smiled at them—My army, my men.
Then Lucien’s arm came around me.
“We want to sign a treaty.” He said, and I blushed.
“That we will do, but first, we have to clear the memory of the humans. For order, they shouldn’t know we exist yet.” I replied, and although some hesitated, and some still felt a little scared to join the enemy, we all eventually held hands.
We held hands to jointly erase the memories of the humans, except the government. Taking away all mentions of the word vampire, wolf, and Lycan within the past one month.
That didn’t take much effort, with so many vampires gathered.
We signed a treaty with blood on the spot, not to get in each other’s way, and to stay out of trouble with the humans. Later on, it would be drafted in paper as a binding agreement.

I approached my house later at night, and saw my mum leaving the house to throw away the trash.
She spotted me almost immediately, and the trash fell from her hands.
Her eyes searched mine for a long while, before she ran towards me, touching my body, and breathing shakily.
“Adria! Adria!!” She called, in tears, and gave me a bone-crunching hug, as she cried out loud.
“I’m okay now, mum.”
She didn’t say a word. She only kept on crying, and choking on her tears, as she held me like I was a prisoner trying to get away.
I knew she must have been so scared. The last time we had spoken, I had told her I was going to see Lucien, and she knew deep down that I meant I wanted him to kill me.
The both of us hadn’t mentioned a word, and I understood it was because she knew I wasn’t changing my mind.
She must have hurt so much, and regretted not trying to stop me. I held her tightly, and listened to her cry.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry…” I kept on apologizing, and she kept on crying.
After minutes of crying, she wiped her tears, and began to hit me.
“You bag of trouble!” She spat, and a little laugh broke through my tears, and we hugged again.
Two weeks later, pretty much everything had been settled. The humans had been led to think wild animals escaped from a zoo, and the missing people had all been found.
Families held burials, cried, and tried to let go of their loved ones, and Lucien donated a lot to help the humans deal with their loss.
“You guys missed out!” Stacy said, as we all conversed through Skype. “Have you tasted wine from Paris!?” She squealed, and I burst into laughter.
“Tommy and I can order it immediately.” I replied, and Tommy laughed.
“Sure. What’s there to miss?” He asked, and Stacy went red.
“That’s not all. They sprayed bags of money at the wedding. Damn…” She added, and both Tommy’s, and my eyes went as wide as apples.
“Okay, we missed.” Tommy admitted, and I nodded.
“She’s a lunatic.” Daniel suddenly muttered, and Stacy glared at him.
“Why?” Tommy and I asked, and Stacy covered Daniel’s mouth with her hand, causing the phone they were using to topple to the floor.
“Hey! That is worth tons, and tons of dollars!” Daniel shrieked.
“Well it won’t be as much as my embarrassment.” She squealed, and we heard some grunting in the background.
“Guys, I’m only seeing the ceiling! What are you doing?” Tommy asked, implying something naughty was going on, and I burst into laughter.
“The idiot was flirting crazily with my aunt’s husband, and refused to stop, until I told her he was the one getting married!” Daniel shouted, and Tommy and I went crazy with laughter.
“Shut up! He looked our age." Stacy squealed in the background.
We spent another hour giggling like crazy, before saying goodbye to each other, and anticipating the time we'd all get back together after the holidays.
Then I went down the stairs to fill up my hungry stomach.
“Hey, you’re okay?” My mum asked, as she fried eggs in the kitchen. She had been exceptionally good to me, ever since I returned home.
“I feel a little nauseous.” I replied, and she took the eggs off the fire.
“How many times have I told you to visit the hospital?” She asked.
“About Eighty-nine times. But I’m fine. I’m just sick after everything that happened. I guess vampires also get sick. By the way, did you break my favorite bowl? I can’t find it.” I asked, fishing for a bowl in the cabinet.
“Oh, that… I tucked it away because it reminded me painfully of you. You’ll find it deeper in the cabinet.” She replied, spooning eggs into a bowl.
“Aww. That’s so sweet.”
“Cut it. Lucien’s on his way. I persuaded him to take you to the hospital. You’re looking too pale.” She informed me, and I smiled, as I began to hunt for cereals. “Hey! I’m making breakfast. You want to have cereals while I’m setting breakfast up?”
“I feel like, mum. Who’s going to eat the cereals if not me? You really intend to nag your daughter, who just returned from the dead?” I asked, and she slapped my back lightly.
“The effect will wear out soon enough. You just watch.”
I laughed, and hugged her.
“I hope it never does. If not, I’ll keep rising from the dead.” I replied, and she laughed, hitting me again.
“I’ll disown you.”
~
Lucien, and I went to the hospital, where I was tested, and to our surprise, I was carrying something new apart from a vampire gene.
I was pregnant!
Lucien and I were overjoyed, and we debated on its gender, and who it’d look like.
We were ecstatic, and acted like kids, who were about to have a kid. We drove down to the beach, where Lucien had a phone call with Zayne, informing him of the news.
Zayne had been surprised, and wished us well, teasing Lucien by saying he hoped the baby looked like me, instead of carrying an odd face.
Lucien had laughed, and almost coughed out his lungs, by choking.
When we called my mum, she laughed, telling us she was well aware of the fact, but wanted me to hear the news from the doctor instead.
“Sunset is the most beautiful.” I said, with my head in Lucien’s lap, as we watched the horizon.
“Not as beautiful as you, though.” He replied, holding my hand, and I burst out laughing.
“We should be careful, though.”
“Why?” He asked.
“We must be nice to our kids, who’ll definitely be stronger than we are.” I replied, and the both of us laughed.
Our future hybrids were going to be something else.
~
Every day became a bliss. Working towards my graduation at school, and Lucien having a new job, as a businessman, was what the human world perceived us to be.
But the wolves, and Lycans knew us as formidable clan leaders.
Leaders not to be messed with—Leaders who would bring more leaders who were not to be messed with, into the world.
My future was set, it was bright, it was beautiful, and all that was because I had by my side, the only person in the world who was worth it all.
Lucien.
