Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 125

Chapter 125

LUCIEN’S POV.

I wasn’t the only one, who felt it. Everyone felt it. The wolves, Lycans, and the vampires too.

The odd sensation that filled the air. Like something was coming.

They all paused one after the other, looking around. So did the wolves, and the Lycans.

And it felt like I already knew what was happening, but was too scared to admit it.

The vampires on the right began to part, and about half of them bowed, while the other vampires looked irritated.

Out of their midst, on the clear path formed, after they all separated, came Adria.

The white dress she was wearing was tattered, and covered in blood, but that did nothing to diminish the aura around her, and it didn’t stop her from being beautiful.

She walked confidently with her eyes red, and flaming.

Her dark claws were out, and longer than I remembered. They looked like they could claw out the human heart in a matter of seconds.

It felt like she commanded the air. It hung around everyone, with a feeling of doom. She had finally risen, and had become the dreaded pure-blood vampire Queen Athena had spoken about.

She stopped, and looked around slowly, taking in what was happening around her, and my heart ached. I longed to run towards her, and wrap my arms round her shoulders.

I wanted to tell her how much I missed her, and longed for our beautiful moments together. Since when did the heart ache from seeing a missed loved one? I was supposed to be filled with joy, so why was I hurting?

Memories of the last time I had fun with Adria flashed in my mind, and it was horrible. I could see her laughing at the movies we watched, could see us making love, and giggling…

Maybe I ached because I knew she wasn’t the same Adria, and wasn’t sure if she’d ever be.

Just then, a single vampire walked out, striding towards Adria, but stopped with enough distance between them. It was Derek.

“Are you with us, or not?” He asked, looking annoyed. “I told you I’d be back, didn’t I? And I told you I’d make you regret your decision to stop hunting. Even if you want to fight with us, I won’t accept you. Your chance is long gone. I will let you know what it means to mess with Derek.” He spat, and some vampires gasped.

“She is the vampire Queen!” One of them snarled. I felt movement behind me, and held up my hand to stop the wolves, who felt the instinct to attack, since the vampires were distracted.

“And, so what? She is the vampire Queen, damn her! I taught her how to run, I taught her how to stand after falling, I taught her how to use her claws… Damn, I taught her how to hunt! The so-called vampire Queen had her first taste of blood with me!” He shouted, glaring at Adria, and the vampires who had bowed.

“She’s different now. Don’t you sense it? I feel like I’m seeing the Queen again. She is stronger than we are.”

“Stronger than you! Attack her! Now!” Derek ordered, and the vampires shared a fleeting glance of confusion, before rushing at Adria.

My instinct to protect her, kicked in me, and I began to run towards them.

How could they all decide to attack her? My men followed behind me, shouting with the determination to slay. However, we didn’t even get within fifteen feet of them—we were blown away by an unseen force.

How had that happened?

What was stopping us from attacking?

Could it be Adria? Could the countless potions she’d taken from Mrs. Williams have formed some power within her?

“Stand down.” I ordered the wolves, and they stopped.

Like lightening, Adria moved among the vampires, and everywhere she glided past, vampires fell.

She was so fast that I began to see what Athena had been talking about. She didn’t blink, even as blood splattered all over her, and there was not a single expression on her face.

It felt like she didn’t know what she was doing. She only wanted to kill.

The vampires kept on attacking her in their numbers, but she was stronger, faster, and lethal.

I watched her move through them like a sharp two-edged blade, forged by a prodigy blacksmith, who had spent all his life forging swords.

It looked like she had all the experience of slashing. She found all the right spots, and got rid of them with single strikes, single blows, single slashes.

No one was more shocked than I was. It was going to be a tough fight between her, and me.

I didn’t know which of us would back down, and get hurt first.

Finally, she approached Derek, who stood defiantly, even after the vampires who were left had sunk to their knees, bowing their heads.

He was unable to throw away his pride, and bow for the student, who was once under him.

It was quite foolish of him, but I didn’t really care. If he met death at her hands, then it was fine. It would atone for all the lives he had taken, and for ruining her life too because if he hadn’t come along, and made her drink so much blood, we wouldn’t have fought in the first place.

Then we wouldn’t have needed to go to the land of the dreaded, and Adria would have never been killed.

“Damn you! You know what? I’m saying damn you!” He shrieked, raising a quick hand to strike her, but before it could get close to her face, she had grabbed it, and twisted it backwards.

Derek screamed, as Adria turned him backwards, locking his arms behind him, the way I had always locked her arms behind her, whenever we were embroiled in a fight.

Something in her remembered. It remembered those moves.

She and Derek fought, and each time, she used the moves I had used against her, against him.

Derek was livid. Mad at everyone who couldn’t help him, and mad for not being able to help himself, either.

“You’ll never be a Queen to me.” He spat, and she tore out his entire throat in a single strike.

He fell to the ground, eyes wide open, and his hands covered in blood, as they held his throat.

The vampires were all shocked, but could not utter a word, then Adria turned, and our eyes locked.

It was time.

Hopefully…

Time for our final fight.
