Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 110

Chapter 110

ADRIA’S POV.

Lucien was backed into the wall by the force with which I had attacked him, and also due to the shock. He had not been expecting the attack, and neither had I.

I wanted to ask if he was alright, but I kept on squeezing his neck.

Lucien got a hold of himself, and pressed down on my wrists, so hard that it hurt. I took off my hands, snarling, preparing to strike him, but he blocked it skillfully.

Kill… kill… kill.

Those words echoed in my head repeatedly, and everything I saw was bathed in red. I wanted to sink my claws into his neck, and feel his warm blood rush between my fingers, and run down my elbows.

“Adria!” Lucien called when I threw myself at him.

He caught me, and held both my hands, turning me around, so my hands were tied behind me.

I snarled, and raged as he continued to call my name. His voice irritated my ears, and I wanted to rip out his voice box.

He called my name once more, and unbelievably, I lifted my legs like an acrobat, spreading them wide, and turning to place them on his shoulders. He lost his grip on my hand, and I held his head, trying to snap his neck, but he flung me off him.

However, before I could land, he ran at a blurring speed, and slid on the floor, so I fell on top of him.

I seized my chance, and tried to slash his face, but he caught my wrist, and nearly twisted it, causing me to scream.

“Adria.” He called sharply, and I rolled away from him. Something about the pain in my wrist brought me back to myself, and my fangs retracted.

But my claws took a longer time to withdraw back into my fingers. I held my wrist, and Lucien rushed to me.

“Are you okay?” He asked, holding it, and I nodded.

“It’s not twisted. It’s just… the shocking pain of it almost being twisted. Something like that.” I said, and lifted my gaze to stare at him.

Lucien heaved a distraught sigh, and I felt bad. He had told me I wouldn’t be able to control it, but I had not listened.

I had felt I would be able to concentrate.

“I’m sorry, Lucien.” I apologized, and he looked up at me.

“Why are you apologizing? There’s nothing to apologize for. This wasn’t your fault.” He said, looking at me, and holding my hands gently.

“I just thought maybe if you called my name, I would snap back to myself, but I was wrong. Even as you called my name so many times, I had not been able to stop myself.” I let out slowly, looking down at my fingers.

“This is not good.”

“I just wish I never had to know what I was.”

“We’ll work it out somehow. Are you still cutting down on your blood intake?”

“Yes, I take blood once a day.” I replied to him, and he nodded. “Wait… I… I think I know what brings me to my senses.” I suddenly said, piecing things together.

“What is it?” He asked, and I fixed my eyes into blank space, completing my analysis.

“It’s shock. When you had called my name, I was shocked, and just now, the sudden pain was shocking, so when this happens again, I just need something shocking to occur.”

“And how many shocking things do I have to offer?” He asked, getting to his feet, and I sighed.

For days, Lucien and I kept on having clashes. There was no single time we were together that I didn’t feel the urge to destroy him, and it was terrifying.

Apart from the time spent with my friends, I spent an awful lot of time in the forest, catching smaller animals, so I could sip their blood, and also to take my mind off Lucien.

I felt guilty each time I caught the animals, but there was no way to help myself. So, I fed them well, and let them play out as much as they wanted, as it was the only thing I could do for them.

Lucien and I couldn’t even have fun like we used to. Most of the time, we were away from each other.

It was even worse than when he wasn’t talking to me because this time around, I knew I could reach out to him. I could call out to him, but had to hold myself back because of what was wrong with me.

And at last, a week later, I went to meet him at his house.

“What… what are you doing?”

“Would we stay like this forever? No, we can’t. Is this how we’re breaking up?” I asked, pushing past him.

“No.”

“Then how long do we remain this way? Just how long? We have to keep trying, so we can find a solution. I’m going to crash here for a few days. If we happen to fight today, just send a nasty hit to my face.” I told him, walking into the kitchen, and he scoffed, picking up a cup of coffee from the table.

“Are you scared of dying? I can’t kill you, you know that?”

“It’s actually the other way around.” He replied, raising the coffee to his lips, and I stopped.

He was right, but Lucien could control himself, right? There was no way he’d accidentally kill me.

That night, Lucien, and I slept in different rooms, and I lay on my bed thinking about him.

When was all this going to end? I was sick of it all. Who could we go to ask for help? There was no one I could think of.

All of a sudden, I shot up into a sitting position on the bed.

Damn him… kill him.

I looked at the door, and got to my feet. This was worse. Lucien was sleeping, and my steps were as silent as a ghost’s. I couldn’t even try to stop myself. It was as if I were being controlled by a remote controller. Just like a robot.

My legs moved freely of their accord. No restrictions whatsoever.

Then I got to his door, and even though I panicked, I couldn’t do anything.

It was like I had been pushed deep into my body.
