Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 88

Chapter 88

ADRIA’S POV.

The urge was more than I could take, and already my fangs were out fully.

“Are you okay?” Stacy asked in concern, turning me to her, but I couldn’t reply unless she would scream after seeing my horrible teeth. “Adria?” She called, and the guys turned to us, noticing Stacy’s worried tone.

“Is there something you’re eating in your mouth? Something you don’t want us to see?” Tommy asked. “Well, we’re going to see it!” He suddenly added, dashing for me, and just then, Lucien and I locked eyes once more.

Seeing him stare like that made me feel cornered. I couldn’t help feeling scared he’d hate me more, if he realized I was changing to my vampire self, all because I saw cows passing by.

So, I pushed Stacy’s hands off my shoulders, and ran.

“Oh my God. She’s so… fast.” I heard Daniel say, and I tried to slow myself down. At least, to athlete speed.

I knew it wouldn’t be obvious that my fangs were down with my mouth closed.

Because in the movies, the vampire teeth never affected the shape of their mouth, lips or whatsoever. I was just the one scared they would actually notice. I had made it weird.

My feet took me faraway from my friends, and when I got to a street which was a little deserted, I sank, raising my knees.

I wanted blood so bad. My nails were already out, and I tried to push them back in, but didn’t know how to go about it.

“Deep breaths. Deep breaths, Adria.” I growled, but couldn’t stop remembering the sweet taste of blood on my tongue.

My breath came out shaky, and just then, a girl passed by, and my eyes fixated on her neck. Her hair was up in a bun, and I spotted veins in her neck.

I wanted to charge at her, and drink just a little, but I didn’t trust myself not to kill her.

If I hadn’t stopped when Derek had tried to stop me from sucking all the blood from the cow, then how was I to stop when there was no one around to stop me?

The girl looked at me warily, and walked even faster. I grunted hard, trying to keep myself rooted to the spot. My breath came out fast and shaky, and I bit my lip hard until it bled.

“Adria… Adria… Oh, no. I can’t… I can’t wait.” I fumbled for my phone, which was in my pocket, and took it out immediately.

I went to my Google app, and spoke into it shakily.

“Animal farm houses in New Orleans.”

It brought up a number of houses, and I picked the nearest one.

“You can do it, Adria. We’re not eating humans.” I grunted, climbing onto a house.

On top of the buildings, I crouched low, jumping from building to building, and running my fastest, until I could see the animal farm house.

There were so many cows, and other animals.

My shaking had gotten worse, and I knew my eyes had probably taken on a deep red color.

I jumped further until I landed on top of the farmhouse.

My eyes shifted restlessly as I slithered down, as silent as a snake.

I looked around for whoever could be around, but saw no one. Then, I went to one of the cows, and opened the little gates keeping it inside. I was in a bit of a rush, but I patted the cow, and scratched it behind the ears, before leading it behind the large building.

There, I pounced on it hard.

It moaned and made noises, but I was too concentrated to notice.

I kept on sucking, and sucking, fulfilling my desires, and squeezing its neck, as if more blood would come pumping out if I did.

~

That very night, I told Derek what had happened, and he told me I needed to be fully satisfied before I’d be able to control the urge for blood.

Little by little, I was turning into a monster, but I didn’t even notice. I was too hungry, and overwhelmed by the pleasures of being a vampire, to notice.

“So what do you say? We satisfy our desires, and be indifferent to blood?” Derek asked, after I narrated the whole thing to him, and he nodded.

The both of us went to different animal farm houses that night, having sucking contests, but Derek was a lot faster than I actually was, no matter how fast I tried to drink.

We filled tumblers with cow blood, and in that night alone, we killed almost thirty cows without knowing it.

I went home with bags full of tumblers of blood, around six in the morning, and luckily, my mother wasn’t waiting for me.

The next day was a Saturday, so I was a little free.

The early hours of the morning passed by with me watching movies, and drinking blood.

When the sun was up, I heard my mum’s footsteps coming towards my room, and I immediately pushed my tumblers of blood underneath my bed, and pretended to be asleep.

She came towards me, and pulled my covers aside.

“Is she bleeding or what? This place smells sick.” She muttered to herself, covering me with the covers once more, and leaving the room.

When she left, I accidentally fell asleep and in the morning, I brushed my teeth, and resumed my blood drinking.

Lusting for more, and more.

It never seemed to fill me up.

I went down for Lunch, and my mum was watching the news.

“Hey, darling. I’m sorry about yesterday.” She said, and my eyebrows shot upwards without my consent.

“For what?” I asked.

“Of course for coming late, and not checking on you. I was just so tired, and exhausted. I just went to my room, and fell on my bed, but I did come see you this morning, though. You’re angry with me, right? That’s why you skipped breakfast.” She implied, and I let out a nervous chuckle.

“Well…”

“I’m sorry.”

“Apology accepted!” I said, energetically, accepting to let her believe what she wanted to believe.

She smiled, and I ran to the fridge to get my breakfast. It was toast. I didn’t even warm it up. I ate it chilled, making my way to the living room, but I stopped upon seeing the news, which was filled with images of dead cows.

“About three farmhouses have complained about cows found dead without an ounce of blood in them. Neighbors suspect vampires. Could vampires really be around us?” The newscaster asked.

I gulped hard, and my mum turned to me.
