Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 38

Chapter 38

MONICA’S POV

I stared at those papers with a large smile forming on my face.

“I’ll take my leave.” My maid said, bowing low as she exited moved backwards to exit my room..

“How… how did you get this?” I asked I’m awe as I turned the papers over.

“What can I say? I’m a bit of a genius. I did a little digging and discovered he was a professor. I can use that medium to tell him to tutor you in some subjects, and the rest us up to you.” She told me as she went to sit on my bed.

“You knew my plans to get him didn’t work?” I asked, lowering my lashes, and she sighed.

“He’s so tough. I could see every attempt you made simply bounced off him like he was a wall. I needed to create more opportunities for you. There is absolutely no way he would reject an offer of teaching you.”

“I really hope he doesn’t because I discovered he’s quite different. Mom, he doesn’t see all I do, he’s cold, distant and doesn’t even lust after me.” I explained, going to sit on the bed next to her.

“He’s a different man. First, we have to find out where he stays. I think the college he teaches at is…”

“New Orleans! I conducted my personal research just now. I’m going to act like it was always my intention to go there and study and then will ask him to drop me off. He’ll ask where and when I tell him I’m going to New Orleans, he’ll say he lives there too, and I’m definitely getting a house close to his.” I said, laying out all my plans and she stroked my head.

“My little pumpkin, Moni. I knew you were always destined for greater things. I personally think it’s time to cut off those little men you play with and deal with the real men.”

“I’m working on that. Does dad know?” I asked, ruffling my hair.

“I told him all about it already. He’s all for it. He says if it doesn’t work, you’re to come back immediately but my little pumpkin is like me and doesn’t give up, does she?” She asked, and I smiled.

“No way. I used all my tactics on him so I guess I just have to find new ones. Although I still don’t understand how he doesn’t find it intriguing to have sex with me.”

“He’s just pretending. He’ll come around soon. No man can resist you.” She said, tucking my hair behind my ear, and I felt even more confident.

He was pretending and very soon I was going to get rid of his mask.

ADRIA’S POV

In those days which Lucien was absent, I missed him terribly. I kept on thinking about our time together, especially on the night we had gone on our date. The movie we had watched was everywhere and a lot of people were talking about it but it only made me miss Lucien too.

Every hour of that night had been special but the moments that had become so dear to me were the moments we had spent together on the cruise. It had been marvelous.

We had been giving a stand-in for Professor Lucien but he was nothing like Professor Lucien. He was very boring, had a face that made even the calmest person angry and always seemed to try to flirt with the girls. He had gotten a lot of ridicule from the students but always pretended he wasn’t aware.

“Did you notice a large amount of girls have stopped coming to class ever since Professor Lucien went to deal with his personal business?” Stacie asked as we chewed on chocolate in the field, watching the boys play a game of basketball on the open field.

“Most of them were so punctual only to see his face.” I replied and she giggled.

“I also felt it too. Too tired to think of going to history class only to meet that annoying creature that calls himself a professor.” Stacy commented, munching noisily on her chocolate bar.

“Can’t even think about that. I have to keep up with my studies.” I replied, shaking my head. “Annoying or not, ugly or not, it’s his knowledge that matters.”

“Who do you think is smarter?” She asked, turning to me abruptly.

“Definitely Lucien.” I replied in a second and immediately bit my lip. “Professor Lucien.”

“Hey. He allowed you to call him by his first name?” Stacy asked with her eyes as wide as apples.

“Uh, no. Why would he do that? I just… fine. He allowed me to call him by his first name but that’s only when he’s alone and that’s because during lessons, he gets tired each time I call professor a million times to ask a million questions.” I corrected immediately and she smiled goofily.

“Aww. At this rate, you guys might wind up dating.” She said, hitting my shoulder playfully and I coughed.

“Oh come on, dating? That’s too far.” I said, rolling my eyes.

“I would be happy though. You’ve led a boring life. I would do anything to see a boy in your life.” She remarked, smacking her fingers noisily, licking the chocolate off them and I smiled.

“You think so?”

“Course. Hey! What do those guys think they’re doing?” She suddenly asked with her eyes glued to the guys playing basketball who had suddenly begun pulling off their sweat-drenched tops. “God, that’s a lot of hard muscle.” She added with her jaw dropping and I laughed as she stood from where she sat next to me, approaching the boys in a bee- line and looking like she was enchanted.

Later that day, I went out to throw the trash humming the tune of the song I was listening to in my ear. I had strongly felt the urge to call Lucien since he left but I was trying hard not to appear too clingy.

Just then, a hand clasped hard on my mouth and my eyes flew wide open as the trash fell from my hands in shock.

Not a scream made it past my lips.
