Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 12

Chapter 12

ADRIA’S POV

I felt really scared to the bones and could hardly move another step forward. I was unsure of what creatures resided here, and what they could do to me if I wasn’t careful. It was like living my nightmares, and no one could convince me that it wasn’t real. Although, it was as real as anything, which I could obviously feel, see, and hear.

“Who…who is there?” I managed to speak up.

But no one answered. I licked my lips, then ran my hand through my hair, nervously. I moistened my lips even as I was shaking in fear but I didn’t want to show how much of a coward I was.

I felt fresh air caress my head and skin, and I couldn’t deny the fact that I loved it, but I hoped that the voice I had heard was just in my head. I continued on my path, watching everywhere with sharp eyes, and ready to throw my fists in the air and even throw some hard kicks if I find anything weird coming at me.

The ghoulish sound of the wind kept me on my toes, each time, because it always felt like someone was watching me, and could strike at any time. So, I kept walking briskly even as the path seemed endless. The wind was so cold, and it felt as if it was about to rain.

Suddenly, I began to hear pattering sounds from a distance, so I looked back and noticed that there were trails of rain drops. But then as I looked closely, I noticed that these weren’t rain drops. As they were dropping on the trees, and everything, they left a hole with a temporary fire which burnt out. If that were to rain on me, I would suffer a third-degree burn, and then die, with no one to treat or revive me.

“What kind of rain is that?” I spoke out, looking baffled.

Suddenly, the rain poured massively and the thunder rumbled, making a fearful sound. Lightning appeared in the sky and everywhere was lit up. I noticed the rain was beginning to move towards my direction and this time, at a faster pace.

I let out a sharp gasp in fear as I noticed that.

“Holy Shit.” I muttered under my breath, and began to run along the path, as fast as I could.

My heart was pumping more blood, and my nostrils was sucking more air in as I swung my arms back and forth to aid in my running. My hair danced and slapped against each other as I sped up.

Soon, I saw a mansion which was painted with the color blue, and the light was turned on in every room.

“This must be the Vampires’ Castle.” I thought to myself, and looked back.

The rain was catching up with me, and destroying most things which it had fallen on. I looked towards the direction of the castle, and my desire to get there immediately fueled my speed, and I ran faster than I thought I could ever run.

My cheeks were proving the effect of how fast I was running as they were shaking, and the forceful wind was finding its way in and out of my clothes until I got to the castle, and banged the door so hard. I feared the rain would get to me soon as it was catching up faster than I thought.

I banged the door harder and hastily.

“Hello! Please help! The rain will destroy me.” I yelled out in desperation.

Just before I could yell out another word, the door opened and I fell inside, hitting my elbow on the marble floor.

“Ouch!” I groaned, and heard the door shut.

This was just another time I was going through a pain like this since I got here. More like it was a ritual, but I managed to hold in the pain as what was more important was the fact that I was now in the Vampires’ Castle, and I needed to know who had opened and shut the door.

I looked up, and was stunned to see a gorgeous woman before me. Her hair was black and wavy, and she had a red lipstick on, and her eyes was green and pretty.

“Good evening. I’m sorry I banged the door that hard, but the rain…”

“Hush!” The woman silenced me abruptly.

I wondered if I had gotten on her nerves, or something was going on, so I pursed my lips, and managed to stand, without speaking. Silence reigned, and I hoped that she would say something.

“The rain is somewhat destroying, and burns anything when it falls. But the good thing about it is that those trees will bloom again when it is day. But the same thing will not happen to your kind when the rain falls on them. It will burn your skin, and suck out your energy and power.” She explained, and walked away.

“My energy, and power? That sounds cringe, though. I’m just a human.” I responded, hoping I wasn’t saying the wrong words.

The woman gave me a long stare, and sighed deeply. Her facial expression was somewhat straight, and one couldn’t tell what she was thinking, but I had to remind myself that she was a vampire and she could just decide to suck my blood, and do away with me if she so pleases.

I was filled with fear, and looked in the direction of where the woman went to. I noticed she went to the sitting room, and I never expected this place to be this beautiful because they were Vampires. I expected that there would be a few bats, and cobwebs here and there, but they blew my mind.

The sitting room was beautiful and extravagant. The chandelier was a golden one and it had bright lights. The marble floor looked glossy and attractive and they had comfy-looking sofas and armchairs.

“Will you keep looking or prefer to sit?” The woman voiced out, and her voice echoed in the sitting room.

I moistened my lips and began to take steps towards the center of the sitting room, and then sat on the sofa, waiting for the next action.

“Oh my, this is so comfy that I could fall into a deep sleep if I were to lay on it.” I thought to myself as I placed my hand on it.

“Focus on what you came here for, rather than noticing how comfy that sofa is.” The woman spoke out with no expression on her face.

“Oh, my goodness! Did she just hear my thoughts?” My eyes widened in shock, and I felt a bit embarrassed.

“I can hear your mind, so there is nothing much your mind can do for you here.” She said, and then footsteps were heard.

Two other women appeared, and they all were with stern expression which sent chills down my spine.

“Well, well, well. Who do we have here?” One of them spoke, in an icy tone.

What scared me more was her fangs were out like one who wanted to have breakfast.
