Chapter 82 Ending the Holiday Early
Chapter 82 Ending the Holiday Early
Considering she had to bring late-night snacks for so many people, Kim Tae-yeon went back to the restaurant. This time, she refused to let Kang Woo-jin pay the bill.
Feeling somewhat apologetic, Jiang Youzhen went to the nearest fruit shop and bought two large bags of fruit while waiting for the food to be packed.
But here's the problem.
"Your dorm... there shouldn't be anyone watching, right? I'll take the things upstairs, and then you can have Tiffany and the others take them in."
"No one has been watching over it during this period. Normally, the female dormitory head will come for surprise inspections."
...
They're checking all of this? That's ruthless!
Kang Woo-jin drove to their dormitory building and took the initiative to carry the heaviest fruit and two servings of chicken soup. As they walked upstairs, Kim Tae-yeon would occasionally turn around and glance at him.
The things in his hands were not light. Jiang Youzhen carried the heaviest fruits in his arms, with food packaging bags hanging from his hands. As he carefully looked at the steps, he noticed the girl's gaze and looked up at her.
"What's wrong?"
Kim Tae-yeon looked at Kang Woo-jin, who had fallen a few steps behind her, and her gaze lingered on his face for a moment. She shook her head and chuckled, saying, "It's nothing. Be careful of the steps; the lights in the hallway aren't very bright."
"Okay, I'll be careful," Jiang Youzhen replied, continuing to watch the steps beneath his feet.
The stairs, which she could usually reach quickly, were unusually difficult to climb today. Kim Tae-yeon stopped at the dormitory door and only opened the door after hearing something being put down behind her, calling out Tiffany's name.
"Pani, come here quickly."
After hearing the noise from the girls inside, Jiang Youzhen quickly moved away. He looked away until he heard the familiar "Hollywood senior," at which point he glanced at the doorway out of the corner of his eye.
The door was ajar, and then he turned around and greeted Tiffany, "Tiffany, thank you for your help. It's a girls' dormitory, I can't get too close."
Tiffany felt she couldn't lift so many things, so she simply called over the strongest girl in the dorm. Coincidentally, they hadn't gone to sleep yet and were all waiting for Kim Tae-yeon to bring them some late-night snacks.
Those who came out noticed Jiang Youzhen, who was clearly a little reserved in the corridor. They greeted him politely and said thank you before quickly taking their things inside.
Knowing he had completed his mission, Kang Woo-jin didn't stay there any longer. He whispered a few words to Kim Tae-yeon and then went downstairs.
After returning to the dormitory, Kim Tae-yeon walked to the balcony and watched Kang Woo-jin get into his car and leave. Only after the car disappeared from sight did she turn around and walk back inside.
The late-night snack had already been divided up by these people, but no one touched the fruit that Kang Woo-jin had bought. Kim Tae-yeon looked at the amount in the bag and told them to divide it up, saying that at least the fruit was easy to store and not too sweet, which was perfect for them.
.
On the other hand, Jiang Youzhen only had time to check his phone after returning home. He had heard his phone ring more than ten times on his way back, and subconsciously thought that several people might be sending him messages.
After parking the car, he turned on his phone and saw that it was exactly as he had expected.
Besides Kim Tae-yeon posting two messages, Tiffany also posted one, and Im Yoon-ah also posted one; it seems that everyone in their dorm posted one.
The messages were all similar; they really liked the little gift they had just received, so they came to express their gratitude.
Out of politeness, he replied to each person with "It's okay" before opening his text message interface with Kim Tae-yeon and starting to type a reply quickly.
In the living room, when Jiang Jingshu saw Jiang Youzhen, she saw him typing rapidly on the keyboard with both hands, and looking at the worthless smile on his face, she immediately knew who he was chatting with.
After sending the message, Jiang Youzhen noticed that Jiang Jingshu was still sitting in the living room. He glanced at the time and asked, "Mom, aren't you going to rest yet? It's so late."
Jiang Jingshu didn't speak immediately, but carefully looked Jiang Youzhen up and down before casually asking, "Are you going out on a date tonight?"
"...No, it was just a meal."
"Poor kid, why are you so slow at winning over girls?"
Jiang Youzhen was speechless for a moment, and after a while, he defended himself in a frustrated voice, "She's a trainee, okay? She's a girl group member who's preparing to debut. At this critical juncture, I can't afford to do anything reckless. If I cause her to lose her debut opportunity, I'll be in big trouble."
Jiang Jingshu could have expected this answer, and she was quite relieved that her son wasn't so impulsive as to ruin a girl's dream. She smiled and asked another question.
"You two have... anything ambiguous or intimate, huh?"
Jiang Youzhen felt that this question touched on his privacy. He tried to sit on the sofa, but hesitated and did not sit down.
More intimate?
What impressed him most was that this time, like the previous times, there was some physical contact.
She showed no dissatisfaction, nor did she show any rejection.
This is a good thing.
After a moment, his mind cleared up considerably. Looking at Jiang Jingshu's gossipy eyes, he raised the corners of his lips and smiled, saying, "We hugged, although I was a little clumsy."
But he felt as if he had embraced the world at that time.
Jiang Jingshu pretended not to notice the joy in Jiang Youzhen's eyes, but couldn't help teasing him, "Aren't you going to express your feelings first?"
"Being friends now is better than nothing."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Jingshu was initially dazed, but then she laughed again. "You know what, Youzhen? Your dad said the exact same thing just now."
"That means I inherited my father's good character."
The feeling of being touched just moments before vanished instantly after that narcissistic remark. Jiang Jingshu shrugged and spread her hands, pretending not to have heard it. "Speaking of which, your dad called me today. He wants you to go to his film set a few days earlier. What do you think of this vacation? Are you going to end it early?"
"I did promise my dad I'd visit him on set, but I originally planned to go back after my vacation ended." Jiang Youzhen opened his phone again, and after seeing the date on the calendar, he hesitated again.
Going back earlier might not be a bad idea, but it would be a waste of my vacation.
This brief conversation between mother and son left Jiang Jingshu feeling both wistful and relieved, thankful that her son hadn't turned into the kind of spoiled brat who liked to play around.
She felt this had a lot to do with Jiang Youzhen's social habits. At least if you counted, he didn't have many friends, so there was no possibility of him having any bad friends.
Jiang Youzhen, who had already returned to his room, had no idea what Jiang Jingshu was thinking. He sent a message to Mads Wu to confirm the crew's schedule for the next few days, and then contacted Tony.
This holiday has to end early. There are only a few days left anyway, so I might as well go back sooner. I can also take advantage of the set visit to learn from the veteran director and promote my new movie.
He had just made the decision when he received a new message on his phone.
Kim Tae-yeon didn't seem too surprised after seeing Kang Woo-jin's message about returning to New York; instead, she seemed curious about Mads Oh's new movie.
However, after seeing that Kang Woo-jin said it was also a movie about viral infection and zombies, she couldn't help but complain that this family seemed to really like this type of work.
