Don’t Go Against My Words
Don’t Go Against My Words
Darian got back that night and didn't meet Lena in the room.
He hurried out to ask his bodyguards but they claimed not to have seen her, then he remembered he had told her to go into hiding if anything came up, but from what he was told, there was no attack in the house.
He rushed to the secret room, entered the code, and the door slid open. He got in and saw her lying on the bed.
He moved closer to her, sat on the bed, and watched her sleep peacefully. He wanted to stroke her hair, caress her fingers, or do other things to her but he held back.
He hoped that she would wake up from sleep, and go back to the bedroom. He wasn't comfortable that she was in the secret room —it was built for a different purpose.
He stood up and carried her into the main bedroom. Lena had no idea what was going on with her, she let out a soft
yawn when she landed on the bed. She stirred on the bed, opening her eyes to glimpse Darian staring at her.
Jumping in surprise, she quickly grabbed his arm.
"Are you fine?" She touched him and checked his face and every visible part of his body for bruises. "I was so worried something bad would happen to you. Thank goodness you're fine." She let out a sigh of relief.
"You should go back to sleep," his voice was cold. "This is one of the many things I face, we face as being part of a Mafia." He told her. "It's not something you should be worried about, but we must keep our family safe, and that was why I told you to make use of that room before leaving." He stood up, and stripped himself in front of her.
Lena gingerly chewed on her lips as she watched her husband's well-sculpted body. She had to get used to having him remove his clothes in her presence. Even though she was shy to do that he always did it unapologetically, and she wished she could be free around him too.
He still had his shorts on. A deep cut on his arm was now visible to her. She glimpsed as blood oozed out of the skin.
Lena stood up and moved closer to him. The cut looked like it was made with a sharp knife or dagger. It was deep to an extent and he just wrapped bandage around his arm.
Closing his eyes, he winced in pain as he unwrapped the bandage.
"Are you fine?" She touched him but he flinched, giving her a warning look. The last thing he wanted was to be weak in front of his new wife. "Darian, I can help you treat that." She offered but he shunned her.
"Stay away. I am fine," he said sternly, and was about to walk into the bathroom when Lena grabbed him from the back, causing him to halt his movements.
She jumped on the bed so that she could reach his height. Breathing hard, she stared directly into his eyes.
"No, you're not fine and I will do this for you.” Anger burned in her eyes. She didn’t have a problem with being pushed away but not now that he was at the verge of dying. The blood was too much and she would help him. "I have got you, I can do a bit of it." She got down from the bed and pushed him to the bed. "Just stay still please." She begged with her eyes, and Darian just sat on the bed without an argument.
He wanted to stand up but his arms were deterring him from doing that.
Lena felt so sad. He even had to carry her with that hurting arm. She rushed to where she had seen the first aid box before and brought it close to him. She began to open up the wound and properly clean it up.
As she treated his arms, Darian had his eyes on her hair. It was so long, so silky, and so shiny he wanted to run his fingers through it.
“This will hurt, but you have to bear it." She warned before applying the methylated spirit to the cut but he didn't say a word.
Darian didn't flinch when it touched his skin. He still maintained his seating position, and his eyes were still on her hair.
"Oh, I know you're strong." She chuckled. She applied every other treatment and wrapped the arm with a new bandage. "You should be careful when bathing." She stood up with a smile on her face. "Do you feel good?" She asked him, but he didn't respond to her.
His eyes were now strongly fixated on her and it made her so uncomfortable. She didn't appreciate the fact that he always gawked at her, and won't give responses to her questions.
She picked up the first aid box and was about to go drop it where she picked it up. She took a step, but he gripped her arms.
Lena breathed hard, she looked at him, and he pulled her closer to the wall. She felt her back hitting the cold wall, closing her eyes, she wondered what Darian had in mind to do to her.
"I killed some people today and they were people who didn't listen to me when I told them to surrender. They wanted to attack me but I sent them to hell." He glared so hard at her that she could feel his gaze burning her skin. "The next time I tell you not to do something, just leave it be, and don't do it." He warned her.
Confusion slammed her. She had only treated him, and he waited patiently for her to do it, why was he mad about it? Sometimes she wondered if he was bipolar or just did the things he did to get on her nerves.
"I didn't disobey you, I only treated your wound." She was close to tears. "You should appreciate me, not threaten me." She mumbled.
He let go of her and hurried into the bathroom. Lena closed her eyes and sobbed gently. She fell to the floor, and clutched the first aid box in her hands. She held it up to her chest and sobbed into it.
Darian could hear the faint sound of her sobs as he sat in the bathtub. He rubbed his head, and switched on the shower to let the sound of the water distract him from listening to his wife’s tears.
By the time Darian was done bathing, Lena was already asleep.
She fell asleep where she sat on the tiled floor. She waited for Darian to come out of the bathroom, but he took a long time and she slept off when she couldn't wait anymore.
After Darian dressed up, he walked over to the bed and lay down.
He didn't carry Lena to bed this time. Pulling the duvet over his body, he switched off the lights before drifting to sleep.
