Chapter 31 Wizard Levels
Chapter 31 Wizard Levels
"Of course it exists. The gap in magical power between adult wizards and seventh-level wizards is significant, and the difference is even greater among adult wizards," Ryan said.
He waved his wand, summoning a stack of parchment, and used "Flying" to deliver the parchment to everyone: "Everyone can write down the titles that are popular in the wizarding world and that you think represent wizards of different strengths."
"After you finish writing, please use magic to hand me the parchment."
This interactive experience amused everyone, and the young wizards, who had never encountered this teaching method before, picked up quills and began writing on parchment.
Only two first-year wizards looked worried, because they had only learned the Levitation Charm and their skill level was not high enough, so they might not be able to successfully deliver the parchment to the designated location.
Before long, someone finished writing and waved their wand to send the parchment in front of them flying to Ryan.
Ryan summoned several small puppets, tapped them with his wand, and they began to divide the work.
The astronaut mascot was in charge of announcing the votes, the wolf cub model was in charge of counting, and a model of a short but handsome young man was in charge of checking the results.
If the wolf cubs miscount, the handsome young man will hold a green spear taller than himself and let out a cold snort: "Incompetent."
Penelope is fascinated by the model; she had been playing with it for a long time before the party started and is still staring at it now.
The astronaut mascot begins counting the votes:
"Young wizard, adult wizard, Auror."
"Student, adult wizard, Dumbledore."
"A junior wizard, a common wizard, an Auror."
"Student, adult wizard, professor, headmaster."
"......"
People generally agree on the classification of wizards with different magical abilities in the current magical world: junior wizards are the starting point, Aurors represent high-level power, and Dumbledore is in a class of his own.
The statistical results were displayed to everyone, bringing a knowing smile to those present. They felt that the matter was settled, and everyone thought so; Ryan had no way to pull off any daring moves.
Seeing the confident expressions on Vio, Pablo, and the others' faces, Ryan felt a surge of energy.
I knew these people were still up to no good, always trying to win against him in secret, even if it was just a psychological victory.
But this is even better!
Ryan thought to himself, "This way, all the effort I put into sorting out the legacy of various relics and the insights I gained from my conversations with Dumbledore and Flitwick these past few days will not have been in vain!"
Otherwise, whose face would he slap, and who would he be putting on an act for?
He waved his wand, letting the three miniature models rest for a moment, then immediately drew a few lines of text in the air:
Junior Wizard: Lower grades, upper grades.
Adult Wizard: Pass the NEWT test, either excellent or not excellent.
Elite Wizards: Official Aurors of the Ministry of Magic, Elite Aurors, some professors at Hogwarts, and some of the most famous dueling wizards in the wizarding world.
Arch Wizard: A master of magic in a particular field, such as the Headmaster of Hogwarts.
When everyone saw the first two lines, they remained calm and watched from the sidelines.
Upon seeing the third line, I felt that Ryan's classification was more detailed, as he also distinguished between formal Aurors and elite Aurors.
But it's okay, they haven't lost yet!
Upon seeing the fourth line, Vio frowned, subtly changed his expression, and transformed into a staunch supporter of Lane's theory.
Pablo, Percy, and the others were still thinking of launching further challenges, even though they knew that when Ryan explained things one by one, there would definitely be concepts they had never thought of before.
But that doesn't matter. In informal and unimportant situations, losing is losing, losing face is losing face, since everyone present is one of our own.
In particular, Ryan left behind a huge loophole!
That is, in this classification, there is no place for the world's greatest wizard: Albus Dumbledore!
Pablo believes he can do it!
Pablo launched his attack! He cleared his throat: "Ryan, I think your division is unreasonable!"
He said, "Leaving aside how to clarify the concept of a Grand Wizard, the very existence of the Headmaster is enough to prove that your classification is flawed!"
"What a great assist! No wonder he's a Ravenclaw prefect..." Ryan cheered for his teammate in his heart.
"Pablo, people cannot define things outside of their own perception, and neither can I." Ryan's lips curled up. "Therefore, I cannot categorize the headmaster into any hierarchy."
"Of course, if you ask."
Just as Pablo was about to deny that he meant it, Ryan raised his hand and pointed at the words in the air.
As the voices of global warming emerged, the fifth line of text appeared.
(A legend that will last for a thousand years): Merlin; the four great masters of Hogwarts; Nicolas Flamel... Albus Dumbledore; Gellert Grindelwald; Voldemort; and "us".
As everyone looked at the string of names that Ryan had laid out in chronological order, names that shone throughout the entire history of magic, they felt dizzy, weak all over, and unable to muster any strength.
In particular, Ryan specifically included Vio's earlier statement about "we" in his statement.
This feeling is like ascending to heaven.
Ryan knew this feeling. It was like when he saw a list in his previous life, listing emperors from the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors to the founding emperors of dynasties. He would feel a surge of excitement, especially when there was a sentence with an accent at the end of the list: "The world is yours, and it is ours, but in the end it is yours."
This is more effective than any kind of pep talk.
It is more inspiring and more inspiring than any theoretical proof.
Pablo and Percy practically knelt down to watch.
Clearly, Pablo's charge failed.
Pablo fell.
To Ryan's surprise, Vio, who was sitting opposite him, blushed and breathed softly after seeing the last words.
Why are you blushing like a teapot? Ryan thinks this Vio is broken and can't be kept.
When he looked around, he realized that Vio was not broken.
Because whether they were experienced upperclassmen or newbies just entering the magical world, none of them behaved in a "dignified and elegant" manner.
It's... pretty exciting.
After keeping the atmosphere lively for a while, Ryan admired his work, then coughed twice to bring everyone back to their senses.
"You are all the best students at Hogwarts, but you still need to work on your mental resilience," he joked.
"Alright, let's get back to the main topic. As Pablo just said, the levels I've defined aren't clearly explained," he said. "Now I'll explain in detail the reasons and boundaries behind my classification of these levels."
Again!
Hmm...actually, having a little more wouldn't be a bad thing.
Like a cat addicted to catnip, the crowd was both afraid of hearing Ryan's lewd words and yet addicted to them.
Hearing it makes me feel elated; not hearing it makes me feel uncomfortable.
"The first level of a wizard, the junior wizard. I already mentioned that when I was talking about the magical growth period."
"The second level is the adult wizard. This is where the vast majority of wizards in the wizarding world are located. Wizards at this level are not fundamentally different from a few outstanding senior wizards, and their combat abilities and magical attainments are not necessarily higher."
"I separated this level because adult wizards have a much higher magical power level than senior wizards."
After explaining the reason, Ryan succinctly stated, "The level of an adult wizard can be determined by their NEWT test scores."
"Actually, I prefer to call the first two levels people who use magic rather than wizards who seek the truth."
"As you can see from your own situation, at these two levels, the main job of a wizard is to continuously learn existing knowledge, from learning it to mastering it, and then to becoming proficient in it."
"But after elite wizards, it's completely different."
"The wizard begins to explore the truth."
When a Ravenclaw speaks publicly about "the search for truth," everyone knows that what follows will be a truly groundbreaking argument.
So everyone eagerly awaited it.
