Chapter 30 Which academy do you want to attend, Slack?
Hermione was angry, so her expression was naturally not good.
She gave Yena Yaxley a cold glance and said, feigning nonchalance:
"I've known Slack for a long time, and my father knows him too."
Before Yena Yaxley could even speak, Hermione's words had already left her mouth, but Draco Malfoy's expression changed.
He carried a toad on his head to find the toad's owner.
On one hand, they were terrified by Slack, the serial killer; on the other hand...
It was because Yena Yaxley knew him that someone like him couldn't possibly be a lowly Mudblood; at the very least, his parents should be wizards.
But how could someone from a wizarding family know a Mudblood and even become friends with his father?
The thought of this filled Draco Malfoy with unspeakable shame, causing his fair face to flush instantly. Without much thought, he reached for the toad on his head.
"If I were you, I would never take it off." Harry smiled leisurely as he saw Malfoy's hand movements. "Slack has a bad temper."
Malfoy's hand froze.
Slack Anguis's calm threat rang in his ears again, leaving him momentarily at a loss.
"Mr. Potter certainly has a sharp tongue and knows how to manipulate people," Yena Yaxley chuckled. "Looks like you'll be joining Slytherin too."
Before Harry could speak, Yena Yaxley preemptively asked Hermione:
"As for you, you seem clever and quick-witted, but you're actually quite rough and reckless at heart. You're probably a Gryffindor too."
Yena Yaxley said, pointing lightly at Ron Weasley.
"Red hair, tattered clothes, undoubtedly a Gryffindor."
"Harry will be Gryffindor too!" Ron Weasley shouted. "Hermione, don't be afraid of her!"
“Why would I be afraid of her!” Hermione Granger exclaimed, bursting out of the box. “I’ll take you to Neville; this is his toad.”
Hermione said, taking two quick steps before turning back to look at Yena Yaxley and her group, who were still standing there in shock.
"Why are you all standing still? Aren't you coming?"
"Because your silliness is so funny, it's inevitable that I'll have to watch you for a while longer," Yena Yaxley retorted.
She absolutely cannot back down now, or Draco Malfoy behind her will be furious.
In a time when pure-blood families are largely silent and isolated, the Malfoy family is a pillar of the pure-blood lineage.
"Take the toad down, Malfoy," Yena Yaxley said softly. "I don't think Mr. Slack has any magic to monitor you remotely."
Upon hearing this, Malfoy was about to raise his hand, but suddenly paused and ultimately did not remove it.
Harry could clearly see from the side that Malfoy was obviously being threatened by Orochimaru, and the fearful expression on his face was exactly the same as his cousin Dali's.
And so, a strange procession appeared on the Hogwarts Express.
Leading the group was Hermione Granger, dressed in Muggle attire, angrily raising her face as if she were about to confront someone.
Following behind her was Ron Weasley, who seemed to be enjoying the show. Every time they opened a box, he would announce that the Malfoy lad had come to return his pet.
Draco Malfoy, who was responsible for returning the pet, was so red in the face he was practically blushing. Harry, who was following behind him, even suspected that if there were a crack in the ground on the Express, Malfoy would immediately disappear into it.
As for Yena Yaxley, she walked at the very end of the group.
Her gaze lingered on the group of people ahead, finally settling on Draco Malfoy, who had a toad on his head, and she sighed softly.
Compared to Mr. Slack Anguius, Draco Malfoy has nothing to offer except for his good family background.
Thinking this, she would nod occasionally to acquaintances who emerged from the private room, indicating that it was just the first-year students playing around.
After the group found Neville Longbottom, the somewhat confused chubby guy hugged Draco Malfoy tightly, thanking him for carrying his toad through the entire carriage to deliver the pet to him.
Draco Malfoy felt like dying. He glared at Yena Yaxley behind him, throwing a tantrum like a giant baby.
"You shouldn't have made me listen to Slack!" Malfoy said angrily. "He's not a pureblood, what right does he have to ask me to do things?"
"It's not a request, it's an order," Harry kindly added. "If you're unhappy about it, why don't we go back to him?"
Malfoy glared at Harry with even more resentment.
Yena Yaxley didn't reply, Hermione was suppressing a laugh, while Ron Weasley explained what had happened to his twin brother, who had crawled out of the box.
"Oh! This is the only son of the great Malfoy family, who hasn't worn the Sorting Hat yet!"
"With the toad crown on his head, he is destined to be crowned King of Slytherin!"
The twins were talking in unison when Malfoy stormed off in a huff and ducked into a box full of Slytherins.
The twins chuckled, then turned their gaze to Yena Yaxley at the very back of the line.
"Yena Yaxley, as Queen, shouldn't you go and appease your Slytherin King?"
"Oh, this might be a unique custom of the Yaxley family; they are accustomed to watching the king weep alone."
The twins spoke again, but Yena Yaxley did not fly into a rage as they expected; she merely glanced at Harry Potter and his two companions indifferently.
"Slack is in the last box. You can see him if you go there now, but you have to hurry." Yena Yaxley estimated the time. "We'll be at Hogwarts soon, so you'd better change into your robes beforehand."
After saying that, Yena Yaxley stopped talking to Harry and the others. She had to appease Draco Malfoy, at least to make the young master think that he was also part of the deception.
This shouldn't be difficult; she felt she could handle it.
When everyone had dispersed and returned to their box to change into their official robes, Ron and Hermione couldn't help but look at Harry.
"Are we still going to see Slack? Even if we don't go now, we'll see him soon enough when we get to Hogwarts."
Ron was a little reluctant to go.
Hermione was even stranger; ever since Yena Yaxley left, she suddenly didn't want to see Slack anymore.
This left Harry somewhat puzzled as to why women could be so fickle.
But he didn't care.
"I absolutely have to see Slack!" Harry exclaimed excitedly. "I have to tell him he absolutely has to be sorted into Gryffindor!"
After Harry finished speaking, he immediately quickened his pace, stumbling and running towards the last box.
Whether it was his earlier conversation with Ron or the students from various houses he met in the carriages, they were all telling Harry one thing.
Entering Slytherin will draw hostility from many. This is not only because the house is known for producing dark wizards, but also because it is extremely discriminatory towards students from non-wizard families.
He couldn't let his good partner take that risk.
Ron instinctively didn't want to, but when he looked up, he saw Hermione already following behind Harry, running towards the last box.
"Wait for me!"
Ron shouted and started walking, following behind them.
The three young wizards, like a gust of wind, blew all the way to the last private room and blew open the door to Orochimaru's room.
Orochimaru heard Harry's footsteps at the door and looked up in surprise, seeing Harry panting heavily while holding his knees.
"Slytherin, you absolutely cannot go to Slytherin!" Harry exclaimed excitedly. "The people in that house will bully you!"
Before Orochimaru could answer, Ron and Hermione burst in as well.
Hermione was unsure how to face Orochimaru, so she could only feign nonchalance and say:
"Yena's face changed immediately when she heard you weren't from a wizarding family. Don't go to Slytherin, that house is full of people like that!"
Orochimaru was about to nod in agreement when he saw Ron Weasley among the three.
This was a stranger; he didn't know him before.
However, this did not stop Orochimaru from kindly informing him that there was a dirty stain on his nose.
Ron's face flushed red, and he swallowed back the words he wanted to say.
So Ron asked the question from the bottom of his heart.
"Which college do you want to go to, Slack House?"
