Chapter 15 Above the Sky
Chapter 15 Above the Sky
It's unbelievable! Is this a city in the sky? When she stepped onto the white clouds, Moko still felt a little unreal. She curiously reached out and touched the snow-white sea of clouds. When Tuanzi saw the vast expanse of white, she excitedly led her little brother off the boat and ran off to play somewhere.
"Tuanzi, remember to come back later."
"Ooh~"
Moko called out in the direction Tuanzi had left, and Tuanzi responded from afar. Tuanzi's fighting strength was not weak now, so Moko was not worried that Tuanzi would get into trouble. If she couldn't win, escaping wouldn't be a big problem.
Sky Island also has a sea, but the sea on Sky Island is a white sea of clouds. Through Buggy's friendly experiment, Moko learned that it has the same effect as the sea and can restrain Devil Fruit users.
Shanks reluctantly pulled the unconscious Buggy out of the sea of clouds. Moko turned her head and laughed so hard that she hadn't recovered yet when she heard the sound of a boat capsizing. Turning her head, she saw Oden lying upside down in the sea of clouds. This time, she couldn't hold back anymore, and everyone laughed so hard that they couldn't straighten up.
After playing around for a while, Gan Fall led everyone to the ruins of the golden city of Shandora. The entire city was built of gold, and even after hundreds of years, one could still glimpse its former glory through these buildings.
Moko sat on Mihua's back as she explored the ruins with the others. The surroundings were quiet, with only the echoes of the stone floor beneath their feet. The walls were mottled and covered with moss, and every brick and stone bore the marks of time. The ancient murals vividly told the unique history of this island.
As you walk up the stairs of the main building, you come across a black stone wall inlaid with ancient characters within the golden wall. Oden quickly walks up to the stone wall and begins to carefully decipher it.
"Keeping our true intentions hidden in our hearts and remaining silent, we are the ones who weave history, and we are one with the tolling of the clock tower."
"Huh? The clock tower?"
The group tilted their heads; they hadn't seen the clock tower as they walked over. Was it somewhere else?
"Ooh!"
Tuanzi's voice grew louder as it approached. Moko blinked at Tuanzi, who was running back excitedly. Tuanzi stretched out its chubby paws and gestured something. Moko nodded and looked at everyone.
"Everyone, it seems like Tuanzi has found something interesting."
"Ok?"
When they arrived at the strange place Tuanzi had discovered, everyone looked up at the thick vines that stretched straight into the sky. It was indeed quite interesting. Moko blinked. Jack and the Beanstalk? Had she stumbled into some kind of fairy tale world?
Tuanzi had already climbed halfway up the vine, waving to everyone from above. It seemed there was something up there. How could Roger miss out on such a fun place? Like a child, Roger looked at the vine that seemed out of place with its surroundings and started climbing. Seeing Roger's enthusiastic look, Oden was not to be outdone and climbed up quickly in his wooden clogs.
Watching the two compete for first place, Moko's playful spirit was also piqued; she wanted to see if there really was gold and a giant at the top of the vines.
"Shanks."
Hearing Moko's voice, Shanks turned his head to look at her. "What's wrong, Moko-chan?"
Moko patted the spot behind her, and Shanks raised an eyebrow and smiled. He then jumped onto Mika's back, holding her firmly with his arms to prevent her from falling. Once Shanks was settled, Moko patted Mika to indicate that it was okay. Mika spread her wings, flapped them, and gradually lifted herself off the ground. She then used her claws to lift Buggy, who was still watching the show, and flew straight towards the top of the vines. Buggy's belated scream then dissipated into the air.
Seeing this, the others could only look on with a mixture of helplessness and amusement. They stretched their limbs and began to climb up the vines. When they reached the top of the vines, they were all stunned by the enormous golden clock tower in front of them.
"I never expected to be in a place like this."
"Is this the clock tower in Shandora?"
"Wow, that's amazing! It's gold, Captain! How are we going to take this back?"
Bucky's eyes had turned into golden bells, and his body split off and circled around the golden bells. He didn't even care about his anger at being suddenly grabbed and thrown into the air.
"I don't have time. Come and get it yourself when you become captain, Bucky."
"Sigh! Then let's hurry up and take some fragments with us."
Turning their gaze away from Bucky, the group looked at the massive Poneglyph embedded in the clock tower. Apart from Bucky, who was tapping on fragments, the others were more interested in what the Poneglyph said.
"It says on it that there is a weapon called Poseidon."
"is it?"
Roger stroked his chin, recalling the historical essays he had seen around the world, and seemed to understand the purpose of these historical texts. Roger smiled and looked at Oden.
"Oden, you can write this kind of text too, can't you?"
"Of course."
“Then carve it like this… I will wait until this place, and guide this text to the final destination, the pirate, Gol D. Roger.”
Although Oden was puzzled and did not understand Roger's intention, he still carved the words in ancient script as Roger had instructed.
Is that all?
"Hmm, it's very well carved, Oden."
Roger looked at the ancient characters that were indistinguishable from historical essays and praised Oden with satisfaction. Moko lightly touched the stone wall with her fingers, and a strange image flashed through her mind, but it was too fast to catch.
"Moko-chan, Moko-chan".
Shanks' voice rang in her ears, and Moko snapped back to reality, looking at Shanks apologetically, "I was just spacing out, Shanks, what's wrong?"
Seeing that Moko had come to her senses, Shanks breathed a sigh of relief, gently patted Moko's head, and then took Moko's hand.
"It's alright, it's time to go back, let's go."
"Ah."
After collecting all the historical texts of the Sky Island, it was finally time to leave. Just like when she arrived, the way she left was simple and unpretentious. Moko watched helplessly as the Jackson plunged out of the 90-degree waterfall and then plummeted downwards without any surprise. She felt like crying but had no tears in her eyes. She really didn't like bungee jumping that much.
Seeing that they would surely be smashed to pieces if things continued like this, before anyone could react, a giant octopus in the Cloud Sea Waterfall stretched out its long tentacles and grabbed the boat. The octopus's large head slowed down the speed of the fall.
"what is this?"
"No way, it's a hot air balloon!"
"That's really interesting!"
Seeing the boat level out, Moko breathed a sigh of relief. She would never do this kind of bungee jumping again; it was really bad for her heart.
The ship slowly descended, and gradually the blue sea became visible. At this moment, the octopus's head became smaller and smaller. As if sensing something, Mika quickly hugged Moko tightly and curled up into a ball. Before everyone could figure it out, the octopus completely returned to its normal size. Without the octopus hot air balloon, the ship's descent accelerated again, and finally it plunged straight into the sea, creating huge waves.
"it hurts!"
"It's so cold!"
Everyone on the boat was badly injured from the fall, and their clothes were completely soaked. Only Moke, who was being held by Mihua, was unharmed. Once the boat calmed down, Mihua let go of Moke and went to the side to frantically shake off the water.
"Ah! Mihua, all the water on you has splashed all over me."
Buggy was so angry he was jumping up and down. Only when Buggy was injured again could the world be achieved. Looking at everyone's wet appearance, Moko chuckled. Feeling the temperature around her, Moko looked at Shanks.
"Shanks, please take Mika to take a bath."
After finishing her sentence, Moko went into the kitchen. The temperature on the Grand Line is unpredictable; one second it's the height of summer, and the next it might be the dead of winter. She decided to make some sweet ginger tea to warm everyone up and prevent them from catching a cold.
"It's the Arctic!"
"No, it's Antarctica!"
"Arctic!"
Antarctica!
"Do I need to say anything more, huh!"
"I have to say it so many times: I'm right."
When Moko brought out the sweet ginger tea, she saw Shanks and Bucky fighting over whether it was the North or South Pole. Mika was lying on the second-floor rooftop sunbathing after taking a shower, her body undulating evenly, as if she were asleep.
"That's good enough!"
Rayleigh manually ended their argument, sternly reprimanding them, "All you do is argue! It doesn't matter which is colder, the Arctic or the Antarctic. If you're so eager to know the answer, go to both and find out for yourselves. Calm down, you idiots!"
Moko walked over and handed the sweet ginger tea to Rayleigh. Rayleigh smiled as soon as he saw Moko, took the tea, and drank it. His body warmed up instantly. After catching his breath, Rayleigh looked at Roger and asked.
"Roger, where to next?"
"It's decided. Our goal is the final island of the Grand Line, and to achieve this, we must collect all four Poneglyphs."
"You mean the stone found on Skypiea? Then there are stones like that in Wano Country."
"Our fluffy duchy also has that."
Oden and Nekomamushi, carrying steaming hot ginger tea, responded, while Roger, looking incredulous, asked, "Does your country even have that stone?"
"It's different from the rocks on Sky Island."
"It's red." x3
"That's what I wanted most! You should have told me sooner!" Roger was so angry he wanted to hit someone. After searching for so long, it turned out someone on the ship knew where it was.
"Now we've found two out of four!" Shanks was overjoyed, and the steam from the sweet ginger tea spread smiles across everyone's faces.
"No, I stole a rubbing of the Poneglyph from Lingling, and I also know the whereabouts of another one."
“Great, Roger.”
"Yeah, is there some kind of guidance? We really need to collect all four, hahaha!"
Roger was thrilled by the feeling of a treasure hunt. Moko chuckled and took the empty teacup. Jabba walked over at that moment, his voice filled with helplessness.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you when you were having such a pleasant conversation, but it seems there's something wrong with the ship."
"What? Do you know where the problem is?"
"To a layman, there's absolutely no clue where the damage is," Jaba said, shrugging his shoulders, indicating his helplessness.
"Okay, then the destination is decided."
"Where to go?"
"Water City, Seven Islands of Water".
After three or four days of sailing, we finally arrived at an island that resembled a mobile fortress at sea, with seawater constantly gushing out from the spouts from bottom to top, much like a large fountain.
The Jackson navigated through the town's winding waterways and arrived at Dock No. 5, a place filled with shipwrecks. A tall fishman was already standing there.
"Moko-chan, that's Mr. Tom, the one who built the Jackson."
Hearing Shanks' explanation, Moko nodded and peered at Tom. Tom was round and chubby, with a very kind smile on his face and a warm, sunny aura about him. He seemed like a good person.
"You arrived with a thud, Roger?"
As the ship drew closer, Tom shouted, his voice brimming with undisguised joy at their long-awaited reunion.
"Tom!" xN
"Mr. Tom!"
As soon as the ship docked, everyone rushed forward. Shanks and Bucky were especially excited and jumped on Tom, giving him a big hug. Tom greeted everyone like a kind old grandfather and let Bucky climb onto his shoulders.
"Long time no see, everyone."
"Yes, I miss you so much. By the way, is the train ready?"
"A train over the sea? What nonsense! It's still in the design phase, hahaha!"
"Really? Oh, right, little Moko, this is Tom!"
Moko peeked out from behind Roger, her eyes sparkling. "Hello, Mr. Tom, I'm Moko."
"Oh! Roger, this is the little Moko you always talk about. What a lovely child."
"Right, hahahaha!"
"So, what's wrong? Since you're here, you must be here to repair the ship, right?"
"Yes, we fell from a very high place."
"Did you go to the Sky Island?"
Moko blinked in surprise. Amazing! He guessed it right away. Is this what a master shipwright is like?
"Yes, it just went away with a thud."
"But then he fell into the sea with a thud."
Roger and Shanks' summary was quite insightful; their actions were predictably similar, proving that they were more like father and son than father and son.
"Really? Hahahaha..."
"Still the same noisy bunch," a blonde woman said as she slowly walked out.
"Oh, Kokoro."
"You all need to tell me about your travel experiences, but before that, how about we have something to eat? I've prepared some, including small cakes. The little one can have a taste too."
Kokoro crouched down, looking at Moko with a big smile. Moko nodded happily and followed the others into the harbor.
