Chapter 541 Scáthach
Chapter 541 Scáthach
High above the heavens, the ultimate battle that would determine the fate of the City of Glory finally reached its boiling climax.
The immense shadow that Queen Scáthach of the Land of Shadows had transformed into, like a world-ending tsunami, suddenly contracted at its core—the magic mirror gate with its swirling abyssal vortex.
Endless, dark power was forcibly compressed and purified, transforming into a pure, almost supernatural, shadowy spear that seemed capable of piercing the very membrane of the universe! This spear was not a physical entity, but rather formed from the most primordial laws of nothingness and death, its length stretching across the sky to a full kilometer. Countless eerie, ancient, purplish-red runes flowed along its shaft, each flash causing the surrounding space to groan under their strain. The spearhead pointed directly at the metallic sphere suspended in the heavens, radiating cold logic and a will to destroy—the Temple of the God of Harvest.
The massive geometric array on the surface of the black sphere flickered wildly, and countless tentacles of purplish-black energy representing formatting commands met the incoming shadow spear.
Space was wildly distorted and annihilated at the point of collision between the two extreme laws. Huge, silent shockwaves spread out, and each ripple caused the already ravaged city below to emit a dying groan.
This time, the shadow spear, which embodied Scáthach's entire will and the power of the Land of Shadows, with its supreme power, forcefully tore apart the formatted torrent spewed out by "The End".
The annihilating power contained in the spearhead ignored the logical defenses of the god of harvest, as well as its indestructible metal shell.
laugh!
A sharp, soul-chilling sound pierced through all physical noise, directly impacting the depths of consciousness in every being.
That thousand-meter-long shadow spear, like a nail of judgment, pierced the core of the black sphere!
Time seemed to freeze at that moment.
The frantically flashing geometric array on the surface of the black sphere dimmed visibly, like a neon light whose power had been cut off. The purplish-black light, representing absolute order and the logic of destruction, dissipated rapidly like the receding tide. The massive metal sphere itself seemed to have been instantly drained of all life and power, and the temple within, which operated with intricate precision and drove the power of formatting, emitted a metallic wail like gears jamming and bearings breaking.
finally
The temple of the god of harvest has "stopped turning".
What followed was an out-of-control frenzy.
Without the constraints and guidance of the core logic, the terrifying energy that the God of Harvest had forcibly condensed and used for formatting, like a raging flood breaking free of its dam, instantly lost control.
A violent surge of energy erupted from the wound pierced through the black sphere, gushing forth from countless tiny energy channels on its surface. It was no longer a precise, formatted command, but a pure, chaotic tide of destructive energy explosions.
Rumble!
A blinding light, mixed with turbulent purple-black logic and dark shadow energy, spread violently in all directions from the black sphere as its core, like a supernova explosion.
The entire City of Glory groaned in pain under the impact of this world-destroying energy.
The towering walls were blown away like pieces of paper, and the huge building debris was thrown up like building blocks. Countless fragments suspended in the air were instantly vaporized or swept into the energy turbulence.
The earth seemed to have been plowed, and deeper rift valleys were forcibly torn open.
The blinding light swallowed everything in sight, and the deafening explosion, mixed with the grating creaking sound of the space structure completely collapsing, became the only melody in this world.
Tower Labs, a building that persevered to the very end like an isolated island in a storm, also met its unbearable end!
boom!!!
A massive energy tsunami, far exceeding the sum of all previous impacts and almost tangible, slammed against the tower's exterior walls, carrying shattered building debris and a violent stream of particles.
The tower, already riddled with massive cracks and barely held together by its internal energy barrier, began to crumble under the strain, like rotten wood.
Crack!
The massive cracks spread across the entire tower in an instant, like lightning. The supporting structure broke under the violent energy impact, and large chunks of alloy exterior walls and concrete were torn off like peeling scales, swept into the torrent of destruction.
Inside, Tang Zijun's armor had already been changed to gold.
Magical energy originating from the element of gold conjured a massive barrier out of thin air, completely blocking the terrifying energy surge. Their location was a corner near the edge of what was originally the core area of the laboratory.
At this moment, the dome was no longer above their heads, but they were directly exposed to a dark sky riddled with spatial cracks, and beneath their feet was a steep slope made of broken alloy floors and twisted pipes.
All around were piles of building ruins, still emitting smoke and flames. The main structure of the entire tower had completely collapsed and become part of this huge ruin.
"Are you all alright?" After an unknown amount of time, as the chaotic energy gradually subsided, Tang Zijun removed the barrier and turned to look at Yedi and Suolin behind her.
Yedi was speechless. She had thought that she had actually died after being infected, and what she was seeing now was just a scene of the afterlife because she couldn't believe that this could actually happen in reality.
"I'm fine, I was just startled." Suolin shook her head, then exclaimed in a loud voice, "By the way, can you pick me up? You little brat, you were so scared that you let go and I fell to the ground, you know that?!"
"Ah... I'm sorry." Yedi quickly reached out and scooped up Suolin's head, then habitually wiped the dust off her face with her sleeve. Seeing that they were both alright, Tang Zijun turned his gaze to Leisen, only to find him slumped on the ground, seemingly lost in thought. The magical barrier he had just erected had protected everything in the laboratory; Yedi hadn't been affected, and Leisen was naturally safe as well. However, he was clearly still stunned by what he had just witnessed and couldn't recover for a long time.
Silently walking to the edge of the half-collapsed laboratory, Tang Zijun looked up at the scene outside. She saw that outside the tower, the inner city of Glory City had been reduced to ruins, with swirling dust and murky shadow power everywhere.
However, Tang Zijun heard many faint sounds among them—the voices of people fleeing the disaster. Although the City of Glory was destroyed, the casualties in this battle were not severe.
Of course, the main reason was that the power of shadow protected the people in those cities. The woman in black focused the main battle in the sky, which gave the refugees below a chance to catch their breath.
Just as Tang Zijun was pondering, a familiar energy reaction appeared out of nowhere behind him. It was the connection between him and the card, and it was also a fluctuation containing the power of shadow.
The shadow on the ground rapidly converged, suddenly rising into a human-shaped silhouette, and appeared in their field of vision in the blink of an eye. "Who!?" Leisen, like a startled bird, raised the laser gun in his hand and aimed it at the uninvited guest.
His actions only elicited a smile from the figure, followed by a calm female voice that rang in everyone's ears. "You know what you have is useless against me; haven't you already tried?"
"It's you!?" Leisen's hand holding the gun trembled slightly, his eyes flashing as he looked at the woman who was slowly materializing.
He could never forget the woman before him, the enigmatic woman who rendered him utterly powerless to resist with a single move.
"Don't worry, Mr. Leisen, I'm not here to see you." The woman in black smirked and turned her gaze to Tang Zijun. Tang Zijun sensed something and slowly turned around.
At this moment, he was finally able to see the familiar yet unfamiliar woman in front of him clearly and truly.
The familiarity stemmed from her appearance; this woman looked remarkably like the thing he had fought in the Shadow World before. The unfamiliarity, however, came from the aura she exuded.
Tang Zijun slightly raised her eyes and looked at her with a complicated expression.
"I never expected you to still be alive."
"I never expected that you people reflected in the mirror could actually do this."
"So, you really are Scáthach." Tang Zijun frowned.
"That's just one of my identities."
Scáthach smiled and said softly.
"Scáthach, Skadi, Morrigan, Morrigan... you can call me whatever you want."
