Chapter 88 Celestial Convergence
Chapter 88 Celestial Convergence
After the dinner, Saul led the Lord and Wanda on a tour of the Golden Palace.
Thor led the way, introducing the history and traditions of Asgard, while the Holy Lord's gaze constantly swept across the surrounding environment, a three-dimensional map of the Golden Palace appearing in his mind.
"What's that over there?" the Holy Lord suddenly asked, pointing to a fork in the road.
Thor followed his gaze, his expression turning serious: "That's Father's treasury; no one can enter without Father's permission."
"Is the talisman inside?" the Holy Lord continued to ask.
Thor hesitated for a moment before nodding: "Yes, Father locked the talisman in the deepest part of the treasury, where it is guarded by divine power and guardians."
"How many guards are there?"
After thinking for a while, Thor said, "I'm not sure, but there's enough. Besides, the vault itself has powerful defensive magic, so even giants can't force their way in."
The Holy Lord did not ask any further questions and continued walking forward. Wanda, behind the Holy Lord, secretly used chaos magic to sense the magical fluctuations within the treasure vault.
The three walked to the terrace of the Golden Palace, from where they could overlook the entire Asgard.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Thor leaned against the railing, his voice tinged with emotion. "I grew up here and always thought it was my eternal home."
"Nothing is eternal," the Holy Lord said calmly.
Thor shrugged and turned to look at the Holy Lord: "To be honest, the way you talk sometimes sounds a lot like my father, but you have a quality that my father never had."
The Holy Lord looked towards the distance of Asgard without saying anything more.
Thor paused for a moment before saying, "I know what you're looking for."
"You know?" A rare flicker of emotion appeared in the Holy Lord's voice.
"Those magical fragments you called runes," Thor said. "You said they were yours, and judging from the abilities you demonstrated in that corrupted timeline, you weren't lying."
Thorn paused, then added, "You can feel them, just like you can feel the one on Thor's hammer, right?"
The Holy Lord did not deny it.
Thor continued, this time with sincerity in his tone: "I don't care why you're collecting them, but I believe your goal is right. I want to say that Asgard is not your enemy. Although Father suspects you now, he won't show hostility towards you without reason."
The Holy Lord looked in the direction of Odin's Treasury. He could sense two runes there echoing him. Judging from his intuition, they were the Chicken Rune and the Pig Rune.
Late at night, the Holy Lord stood by the window of his guest room, gazing at the night sky over Asgard.
Wanda sat on the edge of the bed, her fingers gently playing with the chaos magic: "Master, I think Odin won't let us easily access the vault. He doesn't even want you to see those fragments."
The Holy Lord said calmly, "I know, but this situation won't last long."
Wanda listened to the Holy Lord's words, pondering what method the Holy Lord should use to break the deadlock.
The Holy Lord turned around, his vertical pupils flashing with golden light in the room: "This peace won't last long. The Dark Elves will return, and Odin's attention will shift from the Vault to the battlefield. That will be our chance to enter the Vault."
Wanda nodded: "Master, is there anything I can do for you?"
"Wait," the Holy Lord said calmly. "Wait for news from the Dark Elves. Our opportunity will come when Malekith of the main universe begins to act."
"Master is wise," Wanda said respectfully. She didn't care what the Holy Lord's plan was, as long as she knew that she was part of it.
The observatory is located in the northernmost part of Asgard. It is a circular building constructed of pure white stone, with countless crystal lenses on its dome that can capture celestial changes in any corner of the Nine Realms.
The Holy Lord stood in front of the observatory, looking up at the building. The Mind Stone trembled slightly within him, as if reminding him of something.
"You felt it too?" Shendu asked Wanda behind him without turning around.
Wanda's voice came from behind: "Master, a power is gathering. It comes neither from Asgard nor from the Nine Realms; it comes from outside the World Tree."
The Holy Lord nodded. He knew what it was. In Marvel, Malekith took advantage of the celestial convergence to extract the Reality Stone from Jane Foster's body in the form of an Aether, and then used it to plunge the entire universe into eternal darkness.
The Holy Lord's lips curled slightly upward; there were still items in Asgard that the Dark Elves desired.
Those two runes, which Odin called fragments of divine grace, were also powerful sources of power in the eyes of the dark elves. Malekith might know exactly what they were, but he could certainly sense the presence of the runes and their power.
"Holy Lord." Thor's voice came from afar, his steps were large, completely lacking his usual composure.
"Father has summoned everyone to the main hall." Thor took a deep breath. "The observatory has detected unusual fluctuations."
The Holy Lord turned and walked towards the main hall: "I know, the celestial convergence is coming."
Thor was taken aback: "How did you know!"
Without turning his head, the Holy Lord said, "I can feel it, just as you can feel the coming storm."
Thor paused for a moment, then quickly followed.
The hall was already full of people. Odin sat on his throne, with the Spear of Eternity standing beside him, his face solemn.
When the three Holy Lords entered the main hall, all eyes were on them.
Thor strode to the front and knelt on one knee: "Father, news from the observatory..."
Odin interrupted him: "The celestial convergence, a once-in-a-millennium celestial convergence, is about to arrive. In seven days at most, the nine realms will be connected into a single line."
The hall erupted in uproar; they felt this was no small matter worth summoning them.
"Quiet!" The Holy Lord's voice, like a muffled thunderclap, suppressed all the noise, and the hall quickly fell silent.
Looking at the now quiet hall, the Holy Lord continued, "The convergence of celestial bodies itself does not pose any threat; it's just that the weak space at the time caused some things that should have been isolated to reappear."
"Dark Elf." Thor rose, his tone laced with murderous intent. "Malikism."
Odin did not deny it: "Thousands of years ago, my father Buri defeated the Dark Elves in war and banished them to the Void, but Malekith and his core warriors were not killed, and they have been waiting for their chance to return."
"The convergence of celestial bodies is an opportunity for them," Frigga continued. "Then the dark elves will tear through the void and return to the Nine Realms."
A somber silence fell over the hall once more. Everyone knew what this meant: war was coming.
"We need to be prepared." Thor gripped Mjolnir tightly. "This time, we won't let them escape again."
"Power alone is not enough." A voice came from the crowd, and everyone's eyes turned to the source of the sound. It was the voice of the Holy Lord.
