Chapter 248 Justice League Meeting, Plans
Chapter 248 Justice League Meeting, Plans
Chapter 248 Justice League Meeting, Plans (Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! Please read on, I'm begging you!)
In a dark corner of the multiverse, in a broken, near-destruction dark universe.
One of the Dark Knights, the Destroyer, whispered to the Laughing Bat, "I feel something's... strange."
They traveled on a desolate planet, amidst the ruins of buildings, many of which still hinted at their former glory. But now, they were crumbling and destroyed, just like countless other dark multiverses.
The Destroyer stared at the direction where the Red Death Demon had just disappeared around the street corner, its eyes, still bearing traces of Bruce's former wisdom beneath its bone spikes and scales.
He said, "Did you see that golden hue?"
He snorted, and two white spits of breath shot out from his nostrils like sharp swords, creating two small craters in the ground, which then froze over with a layer of solid ice.
"roar!"
The commotion attracted the attention of some monster beneath the ruins.
Suddenly, a bizarre-looking zombie crawled out from behind the ruins. Its face was covered with black markings, and its eyes were white. It sniffed the air blankly, and after confirming the two people's location, its eyes turned red.
"roar!!!"
He roared and charged toward the Destroyer and the Laughing Bat, and the next second, fire spewed from his mouth and nose—he was a zombie with superpowers!
*Sizzle!* But in the face of its abuser, it was as fragile as a rag doll. The abuser casually brushed the blood off its hands and then sniffed the air:
"This planet is teeming with viruses, though they can't break through my Doomsday Spores. Seriously, did you see that golden hue that just appeared on the Red Death Demon?"
"I see, Bruce," the Batman Who Laughs replied.
"I knew that scarlet runner wasn't the real Batman. But I didn't expect him to be even less pure than I thought. He's untrustworthy. I've already started preparing a plan... We can kill him immediately if he betrays us. But for now... let's use him for a bit... Hehehe..."
(Note: Red Death is the product of the fusion of Bruce Wayne and Barry Holmes from the Dark Multiverse within the Speed Force, and still retains remnants of Barry's personality within him. In the original comics, Red Death was indeed cleansed by pure cosmic energy, causing the Barry personality within him to awaken and transform into Golden Death, but he was immediately killed, revealing that The Batman Who Laughs never trusted Red Death from the beginning.)
"Let's go."
The Batman Who Laughs said, "If the combined Batman of Luthor and Bruce we find this time is powerful enough, maybe we can replace Red Death directly."
Several other super-powered zombies scurried frantically from the street corner, followed by an even larger zombie. The Crusher easily dispatched them and then said, "There are just too many zombies here."
"This universe's Lex Luthor Batman developed the Armadzo virus and then destroyed the world," the Batman Who Laughs said. "But he himself will be fine. Bruce always has the last laugh, doesn't he? Be patient, Destroyer."
(Note: In New 52 Justice League Book 6, Lex Luthor developed the Amorrhoid virus, which could create super-powered zombies, but unfortunately it was leaked, triggering a super-powered version of Resident Evil. He later joined forces with the Justice League to resolve the crisis. In this dark multiverse, Batman, in a hybrid version, fought independently from the Justice League, ultimately leading to the collapse of the world.)
Their figures disappeared around the street corner.
……
……
……
"Hey, Batman, you're here."
As soon as Chen Tao stepped out of the experimental square, he saw Billy Batson hopping energetically to greet him, followed by the weather wizard with his ever-present melancholy expression.
Ever since his biological father, CC Batson, found him, Billy's personality has started to become more cheerful.
In the past, he was a melancholy boy, just like the gloomy weather wizard next to him.
After all, the Weather Wizard lost his brother, who was killed by his brother's wife. Billy had no father or mother and moved from one foster home to another. Both of them experienced the pain of losing their families. The Weather Wizard also had the added burden of being betrayed by his family. They had many similarities in temperament.
But now that Billy's dad is back, the difference between him and the weather wizard is immediately apparent.
Chen Tao looked at Billy, who was still in high spirits, with some pity.
While taking them to the newly built Justice Hall of the Justice League for team building and waiting for the meeting, he deliberately separated Billy's biological father, Old Batson, from Billy Batson, and kept giving him other tasks, intending to prevent their relationship from developing further and to avoid Billy being heartbroken if any problems arose later.
But now it seems... the results have been minimal.
If his father, Old Batson, is indeed controlled by the Meditation Mite... how is he supposed to tell Billy about it?
Chen Tao curled his fingers slightly, pondering silently in his mind.
He turned to look at the exhausted Flash, Barry.
I'll trouble Barry to recharge me later. After syncing with Batman, I'll flip through Billy's spellbook.
Noticing Chen Tao's gaze, Barry couldn't help but shiver: "What are you trying to do?"
"It's nothing, just taking a look."
Chen Tao shook his head: "Let's go."
He glanced at his watch: "It's almost afternoon, the meeting is about to start."
Hal, the Green Lantern, flew over from the side: "Is the job done? Is that all?"
Seneca followed suit, adhering to the principle of not wasting words.
After navigating the corridors and winding through the vast base for a while, the group finally arrived at a huge conference room.
In the center of the conference room, a huge U-shaped circular table immediately catches the eye. Chen Tao referenced the small round table used by the seven leaders of the Justice League in the comics when designing it, but changed it to a circular shape to make it easier for someone to stand in the center to give a speech, and also to add more seats.
In fact, he had considered setting up a platform for the seven leaders to sit on top, facing the others below, but at this point, the Justice League was not a pure alliance of heroes as depicted in the comics.
Many villains who received government pardons are also within the united forces, such as Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, and the most typical Rogues.
Although most of them did not commit any particularly heinous crimes or cause any massive destruction with piles of corpses and rivers of blood, and have now reformed under Chen Tao's guidance and received government pardons, they still find it difficult to shake off the influence of their past criminal careers.
There is a natural divide between heroes and villains; not every hero and villain can develop a personal friendship like the Flash and the Rogues.
Although the two camps never showed any discord in front of Chen Tao, he knew that when Batman wasn't around, the relationship between heroes and villains was far from as harmonious as it seemed now.
Only a little kid like Billy would be so naive as to chat with the weather wizard without any prejudice.
However, this division is only a minor hidden danger and has not yet reached the point of causing confrontation. Therefore, Chen Tao prefers to have everyone sit together to nip any signs of confrontation in the bud.
"I'm sure this is my seat." Hal was the first to fly to one of the seats in the middle of the U-shaped circular table, a chair with a small green OAA logo.
And the Flash took his seat in his lightning bolt seat.
Sinestro, Shazam, and the Weather Wizard each found a seat and sat down.
Before long, as time went on, more and more people entered the conference room, and the seven main seats gradually filled up.
Once all seven members—Mechanical Superman, Supergirl, The Flash, Green Lantern, Batman, Martian Manhunter, and Wonder Woman—were in place.
Chen Tao stood up.
"At this moment, we are acutely aware of the weight of the world on our shoulders. It seems everyone is here."
He said:
"Today's topic is very clear and of great importance; we must not act hastily."
Chen Tao looked around at the faces, one after another.
"The decisions we make today will determine the fate of our world."
He said, "Please take your seats, everyone. We have important matters to discuss."
He turned to Amanda Waller, who was sitting next to him, and nodded slightly: "Now you can explain the situation to everyone, Miss Waller."
Amanda Waller stood up, wiggled her barrel waist, and pulled out a remote control. Immediately afterward, an image appeared on the large screen behind them.
"...An invincible and powerful enemy...Darkseid...his vanguard...Steppenwolves..."
"Three mother boxes... we've already got our hands on one of them..."
"That's one of them," Chen Tao said.
He turned and nodded slightly to Diana, then said, "Diana has handed over the Mother Box that the Amazons were guarding to the Justice League. In other words, we are still missing the Mother Box that the Atlanteans have."
Chen Tao used his peripheral vision to observe the expressions of everyone present.
This time, the mechanical superhero acted very strangely, not jumping out to do anything unnecessary and remaining silent from beginning to end, which only intensified Chen Tao's suspicions.
There must be a third spy planted by Darkseid among them. It's not Billy Batson's father, Old Batson, who is controlled by the Mite, nor is it the already exposed Cyborg Superman.
"The government has located King Arthur of Atlantis," Colonel Steve Trevor, standing next to Amanda Waller, said. "A few months ago, some deep-sea monsters that eat people attacked the coastline of Amanda Wally in eastern Maine, causing casualties. After Batman and the government's joint investigation yielded no results, these monsters all returned to the deep sea three days later and have not been seen since."
Because of this, I also missed many things, such as Bane pretending to be Batman to swindle people and Super Dog Little Kr descending to Earth.
Chen Tao thought to himself.
Colonel Trevor's words still echoed: "We deduced that someone must have solved this crisis behind our backs. After months of government efforts to deploy additional personnel and a large number of submarines to search the area, and with the identification of civilians who had been saved by the legendary Aquaman, we finally found Aquaman's trail and confirmed the existence of the legendary underwater city, Atlantis."
Chen Tao said.
"We will explain the stakes to Aquaman, then obtain the last Mother Box from Atlantis, and finally have all three Mother Boxes in our hands."
Amanda Waller interjected:
"Next, we will activate these three Mother Boxes and use the energy they release to attract Steppenwolves."
"And once Steppenwolf appears, he will face an encirclement and suppression by the entire Justice League."
Chen Tao said, "He will no longer have the chance to activate the Mother Box, nor will he have the chance to summon Darkseid. The Justice League will ensure he has no chance to escape and will completely end the crisis he brought to Earth."
"This is the simplest method, but it also demands the most teamwork, which is why I've brought everyone together. We must find a way to win through collaboration..."
"In a few days, we will set off for Atlantis to collect the last Mother Box."
Chen Tao said, "And you all, under the guidance of the Rogue Gang, need to properly learn how to use your abilities and cooperate with others..."
"And the one who led the mission to retrieve the Mother Box from Atlantis..."
Chen Tao's gaze swept over the seven giants.
"Then it will be Supergirl Kara Zoel."
"?!?!?!" Kara, who had been squatting on the main seat of the Seven Giants pretending not to exist, suddenly turned her head: "What, me?"
"Of course it's you. After all, you are the leader of the Justice League."
Chen Tao patted the other person on the shoulder: "So, naturally, you'll be in charge of the Justice League's first major alliance-level task."
"Huh?" Supergirl was a little speechless because Chen Tao's unpredictable actions hadn't been discussed with her beforehand!
As Chen Tao spoke, he carefully observed the expressions of everyone present: "Of course, I will also go to Atlantis with the Supergirls and try to solve the problem in one go."
As soon as he said that, many members of the alliance showed a relieved expression.
Supergirl looked at the reactions of many members below, then at Chen Tao, and realized that she had only ever been a mascot, so she suddenly didn't feel much pressure anymore.
"Okay, okay, okay," she nodded repeatedly. "As long as the problem can be solved."
"Alright, then we'll prepare a list of participants for the Atlantis matter soon, and then we'll communicate with them privately one by one. Let's not waste any more time on this in the meeting."
Chen Tao glanced at his watch.
"Well then, meeting adjourned, everyone."
He glanced at the mechanical superhero out of the corner of his eye.
The sham plan is already in place.
