Chapter 120 Enjoying Life
Chapter 120 Enjoying Life
The next morning.
Early in the morning, Russell got up to prepare breakfast.
He decided to listen to his therapist and slow down to enjoy life.
Although he had already enjoyed almost half a month on Xandar.
But afterwards, he fought Thanos for nearly ten days without sleep or rest.
On the table.
A serving of handmade shrimp rice noodle rolls + a plate of steamed pork ribs + 4 crystal shrimp dumplings + 3 beef balls + 3 pork balls + rich and nutritious soy milk.
This is Russell's; it's delicious and nutritious.
Egg sandwich with milk.
This is Gwen's recipe; it's simple and nutritious.
“Russell,” Gwen’s voice rang out softly, “Did you take the wrong one?”
Pointing to the breakfast in front of them, Gwen stared intently at Russell.
Russell tapped the table lightly, a flash of magical fire appeared, and the same breakfast appeared on the table.
He was just being cheeky, teasing Gwen.
"I was just worried you wouldn't like the food."
“That’s more like it.” Gwen rolled her eyes.
She suspects Russell is retaliating deliberately for kicking Russell away last night and going out to inspect New York.
"By the way, Gwen, do you have early classes today? Do you want me to drive you there?"
While enjoying the burst of flavor from the crystal shrimp dumplings in his mouth, Russell asked.
"Schools are closed for the time being," Gwen replied while eating her tea and snacks.
"Why?" Russell asked.
"Why?" Gwen looked up at Russell, her voice low and somber. "The school is practically a ruin. How are we supposed to have classes?"
Russell gave an awkward smile and changed the subject.
He almost forgot that he and Thanos had turned most of New York into ruins.
"Gwen, eat more."
"Ah."
Gwen nodded, cleared her breakfast out of the way, and then set her sights on Russell's breakfast.
'I don't know why, but my appetite has increased recently. Like when I was first bitten by the mutated spider.'
As 'superhumans', they have high daily metabolic consumption.
Naturally, more food needs to be consumed.
But Gwen still felt that something was wrong with her recent food intake.
"Russell, did you do something to me?"
"Yes, I've been nourishing you with energy lately."
Ring ring~
A phone call interrupted Russell's explanation.
The phone displays the contact as Coulson.
When the call connected, Russell started joking.
“Coulson, you’ve finally learned to call me instead of taking that miserable flight over.”
On the other end of the phone, Coulson, who was about to speak, froze upon hearing this.
Did he not want to call Russell?
It was because Russell's phone was almost always unreachable that he had to wait for him at the bookstore.
Of course, there's one more thing. Formal matters should be discussed offline as much as possible.
"Russell, I would be very grateful if your phone were always on 24/7."
Russell chuckled. "I'll try my best. Coulson, what brings you here?"
Coulson explained, "Last night, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents discovered a group of aliens. They claimed to be your friends, Russell, and wanted to take some of the wreckage of an alien warship."
"My friends? Are they five aliens plus half a human? Do they call themselves the Guardians of the Galaxy?" Russell asked.
“Yes,” Coulson replied affirmatively.
Although I don't understand why Russell said he was half an Earthling, he generally fits the other characteristics.
Most importantly, satellite surveillance captured footage of how those people arrived on Earth on the day the portal opened.
Calling Russell was just a routine check-up.
“Let them take whatever they want,” Russell said casually.
Although Bertrand Russell liked to boss people around and enjoy getting things for free, he wasn't entirely a freeloader.
The Guardians of the Galaxy helped him find Thanos, so he released Nebula.
During his battle with Thanos, he destroyed Star-Lord's Milan.
Normally, he would find a way to compensate after he finishes his work.
Right now, being able to use Thanos's warship wreckage as collateral is a good thing, as it can save some trouble.
“I told you, we’re Russell’s friends. Oh, be careful not to break this thing.”
On the other end of the phone, Rocket's agitated voice could be faintly heard.
"Coulson, a friendly reminder."
"That short guy, about 1.2 meters tall, is a super genius."
"If you have any questions about studying the wreckage of alien warships, you can ask him."
"If he's willing to answer."
"It's 1.22 meters, not 1.2 meters!"
The sound of rockets came again, this time much louder.
It's unclear whether he cracked the communication or snatched Coulson's phone.
"My friend, you have a good eye; you've recognized that I'm a super, super genius."
"But you may need to have your vision corrected."
"I know a doctor who is very skilled and has a 100% success rate in his surgeries."
"If you need, I can make an appointment for you."
"That won't be necessary. Your doctor might need more practice if he wants to operate on me. I'm not talking about technique, I'm talking about strength."
Russell remained unfazed by the Rockets' criticisms.
"When are you leaving Earth? Let's get together before you go, I'll prepare a gift for you."
"I'm not sure, maybe a month. Star-Lord rarely comes back to his hometown, so he wants to stay a little longer."
“We’ll contact you before we leave, Russell,” Rocket replied.
After saying that, the Rockets hung up the phone, and Coulson's voice came through.
The case is solved; it was the rocket that cracked and intercepted the communication signal.
"Russell, thank you for reminding me."
"You're welcome."
The call ended again.
Russell looked at the dining table, which was empty.
My gaze shifted, and I saw Gwen slumped in a chair, stroking her flat stomach.
Although she eats a lot, she digests it quickly.
"Russell, I'm going out now. Things aren't going well in New York lately, and the city's residents need their good neighbor, Ghost Spider-Man."
"The bookstore will open soon, remember to check on it."
Before Russell could reply, Gwen climbed out of the window.
Spider-Man doesn't follow the usual path.
"Jia Ya, I have a difficult but important task for you."
"Uncle Gravik, what's the mission?"
Gravik pointed to the image on the screen: a young man with striking eyebrows and bright eyes, about 1.88 meters tall, wearing a plain white robe, standing proudly in the sky, exuding an extraordinary and refined aura.
"This is the mage Russell who sank Sakurajima and whose battle shockwaves destroyed most of New York City."
"According to reliable sources, this Bertrand Russell runs a reading room in New York."
“Jia Ya, I need you. Find a way to get close to him and use our talents to obtain his information and abilities.”
Gaya is the daughter of the Skrull chieftain.
Like Gravik, they are all Super Skrulls.
Ordinary Skrulls can change their appearance at will.
After making contact with the target, one can impersonate the target and copy their memories.
Super Skrulls can even copy the abilities of those they imitate.
