Chapter 67 Zombie World - 12
Chapter 67 Zombie World - 12
Sparks danced and spun in the air as Vega, along with Captain Marvel, Igor, Thor, Blade, and Scarlet Witch who had returned to normal, stepped out of the portal and arrived near the ruins of Wakanda in Africa.
The once prosperous Wakanda has long since become a massive abyss, with a terrifying, multicolored energy tornado reaching a height of a thousand meters raging above it. At the very bottom of the tornado is a green giant sitting at the bottom of the pit, his hands clasped around his knees and his head bowed.
The arrival of the group startled the giant, who slowly stood up, raised his head, and roared loudly in their direction: "Roar~!"
A terrifying gust of air erupted from his mouth, tearing up the hard rock in front of him by tens of centimeters. The rock was instantly pulverized into the smallest particles by the airflow, which then rushed towards Vega and his group, mixed with the compressed and heated air at thousands of degrees Celsius.
Vega stretched out his left hand, and the Holy Shield appeared in his hand. He infused it with holy light, and a purple shield wall instantly appeared in front of the group.
With a loud bang, a terrifying shockwave collided with the shield wall, and the powerful recoil caused Vega to involuntarily take a step back.
Vega's expression changed. He pressed his legs down, leaned his upper body to the side against the Holy Shield, and unleashed all his power to resist.
Captain Marvel, Thor, and Igoris immediately reached out to help, and the four of them worked together to block the recoil.
A few seconds later, the shockwave disappeared. The orange giant, having not detected the attack, stood there expressionless, coldly staring at the group with its eyes covered in blazing white light.
Vega removed the shield wall and looked at the Hulk with a solemn expression: "How terrifying. Hulk should have reached the high level of the Heavenly Father, or even the peak, by now."
Captain Marvel: "Does the unlimited energy here affect you?"
"Let me take a look first." Vega frowned as he looked at the terrifying tornado above Hulk's head, which terrified him.
There's no doubt that the energy contained in the tornado could easily tear them apart, but compared to the energy contained within the six Infinity Stones, this energy is as insignificant as a drop in the ocean.
Did Hulk absorb all that power into his body? That's energy equivalent to that of the real universe! How can his body hold that much?
It might actually be true. The Hulk's origin seems to be quite unusual. Some Hulks seem to have something even more terrifying sealed inside them. The energy of the Infinity Stones doesn't seem to be much of a problem for them.
Forget about all that, let's try to see if there are any distractions first.
"Hulk, we have no hostility. I want to eliminate the Quantum Virus and restore the world to normal. Next, I will make an attempt, not to attack you, but just to see if the energy of the Infinity Stones will affect me."
Vega knew that the Hulk in front of him was just an empty shell, but he still explained his purpose to the Hulk, just in case it was useful.
After expressing his stance, Vega floated into the air, away from Hulk.
From the air, Vega saw that the giant crater was surrounded by zombies, arranged in neat square formations that stretched to the horizon.
Vega saw many familiar faces at the front of the zombie horde—all well-known superheroes and supervillains.
Vega looked around and was shocked. Wanda's mind control was terrifying. There must be hundreds of millions of zombies here.
Fortunately, he seized the opportunity when Wanda was alone; otherwise, it would be hard to say who would have been the one to take her in.
Once it reached a sufficient height, the Vega hovered.
He took a deep breath, and the phoenix power within him suddenly erupted. He looked up to the sky and let out a phoenix cry, transforming into a gigantic phoenix amidst the raging flames.
He lowered his head and glanced down, seeing Captain Marvel and Igor nod at him. Vega then connected the causal threads between the two zombie giants in the array below.
These two zombie giants are Hank Pym, the first Ant-Man, and Janet van Dyne, the first Wasp.
The two are the source of the quantum virus outbreak. As long as we tamper with or deny that the two carried the quantum virus when they returned to the real world five years ago, the rest can be left to the timeline to evolve automatically.
Vega quickly found the right moment to mobilize his forces and make the necessary modifications as he had planned, but he immediately encountered terrible resistance.
Despite repeated attempts, he could not succeed. The resistance came from the energy of the Infinity Stones. His intuition told him that if he tried to force the modification, he would be killed on the spot by the terrible backlash!
It really won't work; even high-quality products can't overcome a terrifying sheer number.
Vega sighed inwardly. No rush. Let's try a second plan. He then flapped his wings and disappeared into the river of time.
The River of Time is Vega's name for it, because in his eyes time is a river that flows ever forward. The native creatures of the Marvel universe prefer to call it the Timeline, while a small number of people call it the comic book scroll or the film reel.
The different names are because everyone sees different scenes, but the essence is the same.
The river of time is dangerous; one can easily get lost in it or be assimilated by it if one is not careful. This is Vega's second time entering it.
The first time, he was simply curious and only visited for a short while before leaving. This time, however, he wanted to go against the tide and go back to the point in time five years ago, before Ant-Man Hank Pym entered the Quantum Realm, to stop the Quantum Virus outbreak.
The idea was good, and he was aware that there might be interference, but he didn't expect the interference to be this big!
Transformed into a phoenix, he hovered above a massive river. The river in front of and behind him was completely covered by incredibly powerful, seven-colored energy, preventing him from moving an inch. He could only passively move forward with the rolling river.
The energy of the Infinity Stones has permeated the river of time. But that makes sense, since the Infinity Stones are six singularities born from the Big Bang, and their importance in a single universe is undeniable.
The second plan also failed. It seems that without solving the Infinity Stones problem, no amount of further attempts will be of any use.
Fearing something might happen, Vega activated his ability and returned to the real world.
He transformed back into human form and landed beside the group. Thor asked urgently, "Did it fail?"
Vega: "Yes, the interference is too severe; the timeline is completely blocked by the energy of the Infinity Stones."
Wanda's expression darkened, and she asked in a trembling voice, "Is there any other way?"
Vega nodded: "Yes."
Thor: "What method?"
Vega looked at Hulk: "The six Infinity Stones can also alter reality when used together. We need to find a way to restore the Infinity Stones to their original state, or find an artifact that can contain the energy of all the stones..."
