Chapter 521 The Order of the Phoenix's Temporary Meeting
This must have been the liveliest Christmas ever at the humble abode, with about twenty people sitting in the small courtyard.
When Mrs. Weasley came out with the last Christmas pudding, she saw all the children sitting around the table singing Christmas carols. Bill was conducting, Fred and George were clapping their plates with their knives and forks to accompany them, and the others were humming along to the melody.
Tears welled up uncontrollably, and Mrs. Weasley seemed to be thinking back to a few months ago.
Percy was arrested and detained by the Ministry of Magic at that time, and within a few days he faced more than sixty charges. Almost everyone believed that he was in cahoots with the traitor Barty Crouch. It was fair to say that he could be sent directly to Azkaban at any moment.
Fortunately, that didn't happen—Percy was still at home.
"Cheer up, Molly," Lupin said softly as he walked over. "You should be happy."
"Yes, that's right, I'm very happy." Mrs. Weasley said, rubbing her face vigorously, then quickly stepped forward and placed the Christmas pudding in the only remaining crevice on the table.
After she sat down, Mr. Weasley quietly took her hand under the table.
Siren also went over and sat down between Harry and Fred.
"What did Professor Lupin say?" Harry asked curiously.
They were all quite curious about that special gift, because apart from Xilun, the gifts they received from Lupin were all fairly normal.
He received a book called "Practical Defense Magic and Its Resistance to Dark Magic," Ron received a Firebolt model, and Hermione also received a book called "Echoes of the Castle: The Magic of Images and Ghosts."
This was a book about Hogwarts, and Hermione read it all day long, completely engrossed in it.
"Ah, he said it was a werewolf leg bone that broke in battle, and he wanted me to try to make it into a staff core," Siren said, cutting a heavy piece of turkey leg meat.
He didn't really like eating turkey, and even house-elves or Mrs. Weasley using magic couldn't make it taste very good.
But that's what's popular at Christmas.
"I see." Harry also picked out a piece of meat that looked decent and asked, "Is that alright?"
"I'm not entirely sure either; there's never been a case in Ollivander's history of using werewolf leg bones as the core of their staffs," Siron said, but quickly added, "But I think if the leg bone was separated during a full moon, it should be fine."
Strictly speaking, werewolves are also a type of magical creature, and their fur or other materials can certainly be used to make wand cores. However, this is only possible when they transform during a full moon. Otherwise, they belong to the category of wizards.
Ollivander simply never considered that.
Xilun was also very curious about what kind of wand could be made using a werewolf's leg bone.
But I was just a little curious. To be honest, it's just a werewolf's leg bone, nothing particularly rare.
After a sumptuous Christmas dinner, the adults all went inside, supposedly to discuss something.
Not long after, Dumbledore followed closely behind.
"Oh, Dumbledore, what brings you here today?" Mrs. Weasley asked in surprise.
"Something came up unexpectedly; those people have reappeared in France," Dumbledore said, glancing at the students (graduates) beside him and smiling slightly.
"Merry Christmas, kids. I hope my visit hasn't spoiled your good mood—I know most students don't really like seeing their teachers during the holidays."
"Of course not."
"We are very happy."
"Merry Christmas, Headmaster Dumbledore."
The crowd greeted each other in a flurry of chatter. If it were Professor McGonagall, they might have been a little nervous, but if it were Dumbledore, the headmaster—they certainly wouldn't be, since he didn't teach any subjects and wouldn't ask them whether they had finished their homework.
"Dumbledore, have you had dinner? If you don't mind, would you like some more turkey?"
"Thank you, Molly," said Dumbledore. "Although I've already eaten, who can resist such a tempting offer at Christmas? Would a turkey sandwich be alright?"
"Of course, no problem."
Mrs. Weasley quickly prepared a plate of turkey sandwiches and a few egg and custard pies, and then closed the door.
It seems that the Burrow has become their temporary choice for discussing matters until the true headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix is determined.
Fred and George were curious about the important things they had just mentioned and tried to sneak in to eavesdrop. They even put an ear-shaped object in Mr. Weasley's pocket when he wasn't looking, but Moody discovered it very quickly.
His blue, magical eye could see through everything, and he easily saw through their little schemes.
Mrs. Weasley was in a good mood, but she couldn't help but scold them.
"What a pity," Fred sighed. "We should have put it in Dumbledore's pocket. I bet Mad-Eye wouldn't have dared to look at him."
"That's not necessarily true," Hermione said. "Besides, are you sure you can put things in Dumbledore's pocket without him noticing?"
"How will you know if you don't try?" George retorted.
Hermione just chuckled, seemingly mocking their overestimation of their abilities.
"Did you hear that?" Ron asked curiously.
"I heard you, just a little bit."
"Dumbledore said that someone dressed as a Death Eater had been spotted in France, and that Madam Maxim, the headmistress of Beauxbatons, was there—"
"Go on, what are you talking about?" Ron got impatient when George suddenly stopped halfway through his sentence.
"I didn't hear that." George shrugged. "That's when Mad-Eye interrupted Dumbledore to tell his father he had a little gadget in his pocket."
Ron stopped talking and just stared straight at George.
Although he knew in his heart that what George said was true, he still suspected that the other party was doing it on purpose, to make everyone suffer with him.
"Hey, don't forget you asked first." Seemingly sensing Ron's thoughts, George said with dissatisfaction, "I'm just telling the truth, that's all we heard."

Nevertheless, they have already revealed a lot of information.
As for what follows, it's not hard to guess that it's about Madam Maxim wanting to cooperate with Hogwarts, or rather Dumbledore, to fight the Death Eaters.
Sirius Black was among them, but well, perhaps Dumbledore had his own ideas.
