Chapter 118 A Night of Revelry

Chapter 118 A Night of Revelry

On the day of the Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw match, Harry felt everything was going very well from the morning onwards.

When Harry took Firebolt to the Great Hall for breakfast, he was surrounded by many classmates—they spontaneously stood guard around Firebolt, believing that Firebolt deserved some kind of honor.

Normally, Harry doesn't like to be in the spotlight, but this time, he can understand everyone's attention and enthusiasm for Firebolt, because he himself is also very passionate about it.

In particular, Harry was extremely pleased to see the Slytherin team react as if struck by lightning when the Firebolt appeared in the Great Hall.

Therefore, when Malfoy came to pick a fight with Harry as usual, saying some mean things and mentioning Dementors, Harry didn't even care.

Harry and his teammates walked onto the field with confident smiles.

For the first time, Harry's pre-match excitement overcame his nervousness and gained the upper hand, but remembering Malfoy's mention of Dementors, he still tucked his wand into his Quidditch robes.

"Better safe than sorry," Harry thought. He was in excellent form and couldn't wait to get back on the field.

Wood was also full of confidence in his pre-match pep talk, mentioning that his team had practiced with Harry riding a fire bolt the last time—it was perfect.

As the team stepped onto the field, they were greeted with thunderous applause. Harry quickly spotted Cho Chang, Ravenclaw's Seeker. She was the only girl, very cute, probably a little shorter than Harry, and had long black hair—

It's the same hair color as Lyra's.

Harry's heart skipped a beat at the thought: Lyra would surely see him flying on a firebolt soon.

Before Harry could think it through, the match began.

Everything that followed went as smoothly as Harry had imagined.

Cho Chang was no match for the Firebolt; he easily shook off his pursuer. On the third sight of the Golden Snitch, Harry sped forward and caught him.

Even though Harry saw Dementors again along the way.

But Harry simply waved his wand quickly, cast a Patronus Charm, and continued on his way without hindrance until he won the match.

Madam Hooch's whistle blew, ending the match. Harry was overwhelmed by his excited teammates; he could feel their enthusiastic hugs and cheers, and the girls on the team showered him with kisses.

Harry, feeling dizzy, got off his broom and was surrounded by a cheering crowd led by Ron. He didn't even know how to walk on the ground anymore—the dizziness reached its peak after Lyra also kissed him to congratulate him on his victory.

Therefore, when Harry saw Professor Lupin, he was so excited he exclaimed, "Professor! My Patronus worked! The Dementors had absolutely no effect on me!"

“Oh, there might be a reason for that—” Professor Lupin led Harry out of the crowd, where Harry saw the “Dementors” who had barged into the competition.

Slytherin captain Flint, along with Malfoy and his two henchmen, were lying haphazardly on the ground, looking quite frightened by Harry's Patronus.

Harry, Ron, and many Gryffindors were laughing so hard they could barely stand up straight.

Harry noticed Lyra looking indifferently at the disheveled Malfoy on the ground, and then contentedly followed George and his teammates toward the castle, feeling that he hadn't been this happy in a long time.

The excited Gryffindor students held a grand party in the common room that lasted from day to night.

Lyra and the red-haired twins sneaked out for two hours, and when they returned to the lounge, the three of them were carrying a huge pile of butterbeer, pumpkin juice, and large bags of Honeydukes candy.

Harry overheard someone asking curiously how the twins got their hands on these sought-after items. Lyra winked at Harry playfully, and Harry smiled knowingly—these were all TOEFL's magical Marauder's Maps.

In a corner of the joyous party, only one person was quietly reading a book, a fact that both Harry and Lyra noticed.

Harry grabbed a handful of candy, and Lyra carried a bottle of butterbeer. The two of them walked over to Hermione.

"Hey, want something to eat?"

Hermione glanced at the two of them, her expression softening somewhat.

"Hermione, did you see the game?" Harry tried to start a conversation.

“Of course I’ve been there!” Hermione replied in an oddly high tone.

Harry immediately realized he had said the wrong thing. He looked at Lyra for help and, as Lyra handed Hermione the Butterbeer, he secretly glanced in Ron's direction.

He hoped Ron would be in a good enough mood to reconcile with Hermione, and Lyra thought so too, but unfortunately, they both failed.

“If Scabbers hadn’t been eaten, it could have had a few butter cookies!” Ron said loudly on purpose.

Hermione ran back to the girls' dormitory crying, carrying the book with her.

Lyra hurriedly chased after him, not even having time to punch Ron on the back of the head as she passed by.

Harry looked at Ron helplessly, but the departure of one or two people did not affect the frenzied atmosphere at all. It wasn't until one o'clock in the morning that Professor McGonagall, wearing her pajamas, came to the Gryffindor common room and insisted that everyone go to sleep, which brought the party to an end.

*

Lyra chased Hermione back to the girls' dormitory.

Hermione was really upset, and Lyra went to great lengths to stop her crying. Lyra stood by Hermione's side, indignantly criticizing the boy's immaturity and pettiness. Hermione calmed down a little, but the fundamental problem remained unresolved.

Hermione ultimately declined Lyra's offer to sleep side-by-side with her that night, insisting on spending some time alone and reviewing the history of magic before bed.

"If you insist on sleeping with me, then you'll have to review the fifth-grade history of magic with me!"

Upon hearing this Hermione-esque devilish remark, Lyra tucked her tail between her legs and fled in panic.

I'm outta here! Who's going to study dry history of magic on a party night like this?

However, after leaving the girls' dormitory, Lyra didn't really want to go back to the party and fool around with Fred, George, and the others. She took some food and slipped out of the common room when no one was looking.

The moonlight is bright tonight, perfect for feeding the big, fluffy creature in the forbidden forest.

Leila thought happily, her steps light.
