Chapter 411 - 385: Derek Vance, Get Over Here
Chapter 411 - 385: Derek Vance, Get Over Here
When Dean Morgan finished speaking, he glanced cautiously at Alvin Morgan.
The Whitlock Family was, after all, his mother’s side of the family. Although she had broken ties with them, she could never bring herself to be truly ruthless.
After all, the Whitlock Family Head was her own brother. Since their parents’ passing, they were the closest blood relatives left in the Whitlock core lineage.
Alvin Morgan’s face remained expressionless as he said simply, "Let’s go to the Lockwood family first."
But hesitation flickered across Dean Morgan’s face. "Young Master, two years ago, the International Martial Alliance appointed the Vance Family to the presidency. On top of that, Young Heir Lockwood was ambushed while leading a team in a competition... his meridians were nearly crippled."
Alvin Morgan’s expression finally changed, his handsome brow furrowing.
Then, the four Morgan brothers recounted everything that had happened in Kingsford over the past three years for them.
After they disappeared, Master Morgan had semi-retired, citing poor health. He handed over all external affairs to Eugene Morgan.
Because Eugene Morgan had reached the rank of Martial King, he took Dean Morgan’s place in the upper echelons of The Martial Alliance, acting as the Morgan Family’s representative.
Currently, the Morgan and Lockwood families were tightly allied, jointly counterbalancing the Vance and Whitlock families. Meanwhile, the Warner and Guthrie families maintained a neutral stance in the Martial World.
The Quincy Family, however, was mired in internal strife and temporarily unable to interfere in the affairs of the Martial World.
Apparently, this internal conflict within the Quincy Family was because of the Sinclairs.
When the Sinclair Family ended their partnership with the Morgans and was subsequently targeted by Kian Whitlock of the Whitlock Family, the Young Master of the Quincy Family, Sharon Quincy, was the first to declare her support for the Sinclairs. However, the old family head, Florence Quincy, disapproved.
As a result, Sharon Quincy took a faction of the clan and began fighting her own grandmother’s supporters. This enraged Florence Quincy to the point that she wanted to depose Sharon and name another granddaughter as the Young Master, which immediately drew the ire of the current Family Head, Hubert Quincy.
Because Sharon Quincy was his only daughter.
With Hubert Quincy’s covert support, Sharon’s faction fought Florence’s to a standstill. This, in turn, allowed the Quincy Family to avoid having to take sides in the Martial World’s affairs.
It was late at night by the time the group arrived in Kingsford.
Alvin Morgan and Aurora Sinclair headed straight for Arthur Lockwood’s residence.
It was a private, high-end villa. The security at the gate, much like at the Morgan Residence, required infrared identification for entry, yet Alvin Morgan passed through unimpeded.
"Young Lord Morgan? Miss Sinclair?"
When Abel Lockwood saw the two of them, he was so shocked he thought his eyes were playing tricks on him. He froze, completely dumbfounded.
Alvin Morgan nodded at him and asked in a low voice, "Is Jayden here?"
Abel Lockwood nodded reflexively.
"Aurora, wait here for a moment."
Alvin Morgan walked right up to the door, which scanned his face and let him in.
Soon, Arthur Lockwood’s familiar voice drifted from inside. "Holy crap! Morgan, where did you pop out from?"
"Get dressed!"
"Huh?" Arthur Lockwood glanced down at himself. ’I always sleep naked. It’s not like Morgan hasn’t seen me like this before.’
Alvin Morgan pursed his lips. "Aurora’s at the door."
Arthur Lockwood’s eyes flew wide open, and he shouted in disbelief, "Holy crap! Aurora’s out?"
Alvin felt a headache coming on. He turned and left the room. "Get dressed and come downstairs."
By the time Arthur Lockwood came downstairs in a fresh pair of silk pajamas, Aurora Sinclair and Alvin Morgan were already on his sofa, eating.
’It makes sense for Aurora to be eating dessert, but why is Morgan eating dessert too?’
’He absolutely hates sweets.’
"Morgan, Aurora, where did you two just come from?"
"Boreas."
"Boreas?" Arthur Lockwood exclaimed in surprise. ’That place is nothing but permafrost and practically uninhabited. What were they doing there? Could they have been hiding from the Regulators?’
’Does that mean they’re in danger by being here?’
Arthur Lockwood’s heart leaped into his throat. "Abel, go check outside for anyone suspicious!"
Alvin Morgan took a sip of coffee and replied calmly, "We’re fine."
"What about the Martial Affairs Bureau..."
"It’s fine. They won’t dare to bother Aurora again." Alvin Morgan glanced at Aurora, whose cheeks were puffed out with food like a little squirrel’s. He took out a napkin and gently wiped her mouth.
’She really has been hungry for far too long...’
Watching Alvin’s blatant display of affection, Arthur Lockwood felt like he’d just taken a critical hit for 10,000 damage.
’Stop torturing us single people! Seriously, this guy...’
"How’s your recovery going?" Alvin asked.
Arthur Lockwood’s hand, holding his coffee cup, paused. He replied, touched, "I’m almost fully healed."
"Let me see."
Aurora Sinclair took Arthur Lockwood’s wrist and closed her eyes.
Arthur Lockwood’s eyes widened in shock once more. The Power within his body had begun to circulate on its own, even though he wasn’t consciously directing it.
’Could it be Aurora?’
A deep sense of awe filled Arthur Lockwood’s eyes.
After a moment, Aurora Sinclair released his wrist and said calmly, "There’s still some lingering damage. You need to rest for a while longer."
"Aurora, what you just did..." Arthur Lockwood began eagerly.
To his surprise, Aurora Sinclair simply asked, "Do you want to learn?"
Arthur Lockwood was stunned. "I... I can learn?"
"You can. Go learn at the Kane & Ming Dojo," Aurora Sinclair nodded.
Arthur Lockwood seemed to recall something, and his expression suddenly turned strange. "Are you talking about the Kane Family from Oakhaven?"
Aurora Sinclair nodded again.
"If it’s them, then they might have run into some trouble recently."
"What kind of trouble?"
"The Vances are claiming the Fist Technique taught there is their family’s exclusive art. They’re demanding the Kane Family stop teaching it and are even threatening to revoke their certification..."
Before Arthur Lockwood could finish, the milk glass in Aurora Sinclair’s hand instantly turned to dust.
The milk, which should have spilled immediately, seemed to hang suspended in the air for a moment before splashing down around her. Yet, not a single drop touched her clothes.
Then, a cold, clear voice rang out: "Derek Vance, get over here!"
The voice wasn’t loud, yet it pierced the heavens like a sharp sword, reaching the ears of every Martial Artist within Kingsford.
Vance Family Head Derek Vance, in particular, snapped his eyes open.
He shot to his feet, his heart pounding in terror.
’That voice...’
’How is she back?’
’Didn’t the Martial Affairs Bureau take her away?’
At that moment, Derek Vance was in a state of utter panic.
’What is she going to do?’
Suddenly, a knock came at his door. "Family Head, that person is being utterly disrespectful. Shall I go and..."
"Get the car ready!"

Meanwhile, after his initial shock, a broad smile spread across Zane Lockwood’s face. "Hahaha... she’s back!"
"Family Head, regarding the Young Master..."
"Get the car. We’re going to Arthur’s. I’d like to see if Derek Vance dares to show up."
Aurora Sinclair’s sudden call had jolted every Martial Artist in Kingsford awake. Hearts pounding, they all wondered if the Vance Family had offended some major figure from the Martial World. The old head of the Quincy Family, Florence Quincy, was particularly shaken.
She had heard this voice before. ’It’s clearly the disciple of the master from Sunstone. I can’t believe she’s still alive.’
’It seems the skies are about to change for the Veridian Martial World.’
"Old Family Head, the head of the Whitlock Family is on the phone."
Florence Quincy thought for a moment. "Tell him I’ve already gone to bed."
Upon receiving the Quincy Family’s reply, Arthur Whitlock’s expression soured, and he gripped his phone tightly.
’To think that monster didn’t die!’
"Dad, what should we do? Aurora Sinclair is back. Do we still make a move on the Sinclair Family?"
Arthur Whitlock’s mind was a tangled mess. The voice projection technique she had just used definitely required Power.
’Weren’t her meridians crippled by the Regulators?’
’Why can she still wield Power?’
’Could it be... she...’
Just as Arthur Whitlock was lost in thought, the familiar female voice rang out once more:
"Arthur Whitlock. I, Aurora Sinclair, on behalf of the Sinclair Family, challenge the Whitlock Family to battle. Do you dare to accept?"
