Jake
Who else besides an Alpha’s Luna could poke and prod him without losing his life? It was a thrill I didn’t always admit I liked. I was a worrier and I knew it was the part of me that was insane that whispered negative things but I couldn’t help it. It was hard to ignore them when they only grew louder.
Viktor was good at extinguishing all of my fears. He demanded my attention and right now he held all of it. In the past and the present, he’d been good at this. I’d always been able to come to him and get that mental break but things were different now, or they had been. He could always tell when something was upsetting me and he’d been able to help me unload.
In the past, the moments we’d had together were rough and anything but gentle. Once upon a time, he’d tied me up and brought me to the edge only to deny me time and time again. It wasn’t until I begged for release that he’d pull me up until I was suspended in the air. Just to fuck me until we both found release.
Goddess, or when I’d challenge him as a young alpha. His eyes would be murderous during the meeting but he’d wait until we were driving back home to pull over and punish me. The days when we’d been exploring and testing our limits were filled with fond memories.
We went crazy with each year that passed without finding our mate. It was another year we lost hope of ever finding her. Eventually, we gave up on our fated mate. Back then, I was happy each year that we didn’t find our mate because it was another year I had with him.
A huge part of me hoped the Goddess hadn’t made someone for me because I couldn’t bear the thought of losing him. I found solace in our time together. I was okay with not having someone made for me.
Viktor also eventually gave up on finding his mate. He didn’t care if finding her was an important part of being alpha and running a pack. Back then, a part of me was thankful my Goddess-chosen mate hadn’t shown up because I knew for years that I would reject her.
Even now, I prayed she never came forward because I knew without a doubt that I would reject her for Viktor and Kacie. Sometimes, we have to choose who makes us happy and give our all for it. I wouldn’t leave my happiness for someone I didn’t know.
During the time we’d shared with Kacie, I realized his tastes had softened or maybe it was the effect Kacie had on us. There were no ropes or sex toys with Kacie. Not that there was anything wrong with that, I didn’t mind. We didn’t need any of those things, the time we’d shared had been some of the most amazing times of my life.
The sound of grass and twigs crunching below his feet broke through my thoughts. I was brought to the present and remembered I was in front of a very naked alpha. I wanted nothing more than to open my eyes and get another eyeful but I held back.
My chest shook with each breath I took. There was something about waiting for him to make a move, for him to do something. The silence only added to my excitement. When time passed and I still didn’t feel him, I held my breath.
He should have touched me by now, he should have touched me by now. Another second passed with nothing and I fought the urge to open my eyes. Curiosity tempted me to see what he was up to, to see what he was looking at but I held back.
I waited for him to touch me. When his finger trailed down the sensitive flesh of my neck, I bucked forward. The rest of my hair stood on end and my cock stood to attention. My body was wound tight and another whimper sounded in my throat.
I wanted more and he damn well knew it. My tormentor chuckled darkly as his finger trailed down my collar bone until it disappeared. I was about to open my mouth and call him an asshole but he spoke first.
“I want to mark you,” Viktor murmured. “As much as I want to do it, I have to talk to Kacie first but I know she’ll agree. We need to make it official… maybe then you’ll feel more at ease and confident in our relationship. I mean, as long as that’s what you want too.”
I know he added the last bit on for me so that I knew I had a choice but he knew damn well what I wanted. I almost got whiplash from how quickly I straightened my neck. My eyes flew open and I wouldn’t doubt if they were the size of saucers as I looked up at him.
I couldn’t believe it. If I hadn’t heard it myself, I wouldn’t believe it. I never let myself entertain the idea of them going to the lengths of marking me. Maybe that’s why, sometimes, I still doubted our relationship even though I knew they wanted me.
My mouth went slack as his words soaked in. The thought of them taking me as a chosen mate and marking me meant forever. I’d have a place by both of their sides for the rest of our lives. I nodded my head vigorously like a child being offered candy. I wanted nothing more than I wanted that.
“Don’t fight me anymore. The negative thoughts that run through that pretty little head of yours need to stop. As much as I want to control that, I can’t, you need to do that on your own. You know they’re wrong, don’t you? You know me and you know Kacie. We want you. You just need to decide against listening to them,” Viktor said..
