When Andrea and Valentine Anderson saw Pete holding hands with Agatha as they walked into the church, Andrea was pleasantly surprised, while Valentine Anderson was shocked.
The guests whispered among themselves, trying to understand what was happening.
Valentine was shocked because he knew how many men he had stationed where he had hidden Pete.
Valentine's gaze fell on Lucas Anderson, whose clothes were ripped, trousers dirty, and head messy, his entire body almost covered in dust. Valentine realized who had rescued Pete, and his eyes burned with anger.
"Pete!" Andrea cried out in surprise and joy, tears rolling down her cheeks. She took a step forward, trying to climb down from the altar, but Valentine Anderson stretched out his arm and grabbed her, forcefully pulling her to himself. He took out a gun, holding Andrea hostage.
"Don't move, or she will die!" Valentine Anderson roared in rage, his eyes bloodshot. Why is it so hard to complete their wedding vows again? he thought in dismay.
The officiating High Priest made the sign of the cross and muttered, "Jesus," before quickly leaving the altar.
The entire church descended into chaos as the guests fled in disorder.
When the church was emptied out, Mrs. Anderson and Benita were the only ones left sitting in the congregation, their faces pale with fear.
Lucas Anderson took a step forward, walking towards Valentine fearlessly. "There's no need for violence. If Andrea wants to be with you, I won't stand in your way. You don't have to hurt anyone."
Hearing Lucas's words, Valentine roared in rage, "I hate you! I wish I didn't have a brother like you. I wish you were killed by those who adopted you..."
Mrs. Anderson, listening to Valentine, couldn't take it anymore. She cried out in a heart-breaking manner, "Shut up, Valentine!"
She shut her eyes with a bitter expression, tears rolling down her cheeks. Wiping the tears with the back of her hand, she said dejectedly, "It's all my fault. If I hadn't been selfish and useless as a mother and sold your brother off, both of you would have grown up together, loving each other. Please, don't hurt each other anymore. It breaks my heart to see my two sons fighting."
Valentine Anderson sneered and roared in rage, pointing his gun at Lucas. "He isn't my brother! He's a bastard who wants to take away my wife and my happiness. I can't let him have Andrea. Andrea belongs to me!"
Lucas Anderson clenched his fists and retorted angrily. He could see Andrea was uncomfortable being held against her will, especially with Valentine's arm around her neck, making it hard for her to breathe.
"Valentine, you are the one who divorced Andrea because she gained weight. What right do you have to blame anyone for your own short-sightedness? Do you love Andrea, or do you love her beauty and her title as the heiress of the Singers Group?" Lucas sneered coldly.
Valentine's face turned pale with shock. Feeling attacked, he retorted, flustered, "You're lying! I love Andrea. If you hadn't raped her while pretending to be me, she wouldn't be pregnant with your baby!"
Hearing Valentine's words, Tony, who was limping, glared at Lucas with a look that could kill.
Agatha frowned, wondering what the hell was going on. Even Mrs. Anderson and Benita gasped in horror and shock.
Andrea's tear-streaked face turned towards Lucas Anderson, her expression filled with dejection.
"You bastard! This is all your fault! You're scum!" Tony roared, limping towards Lucas with a clenched fist. But as pain surged through him, he grimaced and halted, unable to strike.
"Young Master Lucas didn't rape Mrs. Andrea Singers," a voice suddenly declared from the entrance of the church.
All eyes shifted to the masked man who walked in step by step.
Valentine clenched his jaw, not expecting anyone to interfere with his accusation. He grunted in displeasure, "Who invited you here? Get lost!"
Ignoring Valentine's outburst, the masked man continued, "Mrs. Andrea Singers, I've known you since you were eighteen. You met me twice when I was just a boy."
Andrea frowned, scrutinizing the masked man, but she couldn't place him.
Slowly, the man removed his mask, revealing a handsome face.
Mrs. Anderson and Benita gasped, and even Andrea was shocked. Valentine Anderson's eyes darkened.
"Doctor Hart!" Mrs. Anderson exclaimed, clearly recognizing him. Everyone except Pete, Agatha, and Tony seemed to know him.
The refined, handsome man who had unmasked himself smiled gently and nodded. "I was sent by the organization’s lord to monitor you, Andrea, to obtain the code your father might have secretly given you. But in the end, he didn't. Do you remember the accident while you were still married to Valentine Anderson?"
Andrea nodded, recalling Doctor Hart treating her for free. She had thought him a kind-hearted doctor without ulterior motives.
"That was when I injected you with Lucas Anderson’s semen. He knew nothing about your pregnancy. The weight gain was a side effect of the procedure," Doctor Hart explained apologetically. The organization’s lord had anticipated being unable to control Lucas Anderson and had devised a contingency plan, though he never lived to use it.
"Liar! All of you are lying! Andrea is mine! You can't take her from me!" Valentine Anderson erupted, screaming and shouting.
In his rage, Valentine aimed his gun at Lucas Anderson. Lucas, realizing Pete was behind him, quickly shielded him with his own body.
A muffled groan escaped Lucas as a bloody hole appeared in his back from the bullet.
Valentine, looking flustered and fearful, tossed the gun away, mumbling, "I didn't mean it," his lips trembling.
Andrea snapped out of her shock and screamed, her face pale, "Call an ambulance!"
Doctor Hart immediately moved to administer first aid to Lucas Anderson.
Soon, an ambulance and police cars arrived. Valentine Anderson was led out of the church in handcuffs, while Lucas Anderson was rushed to the hospital.
Six Months Later...
The ward door opened, and Pete, holding Andrea's hand, walked in with her.
His eyes lit up with joy as he exclaimed, "Mom, look! Daddy can sit up now!"
A smile appeared on Lucas Anderson's face as Pete ran over. He ruffled his son's hair and gave him a kiss.
Andrea stood at the door, her emotions a tangled knot. The past six months had shown her just how much she wanted Lucas in her life.
"Pete, can you give your mommy and me a moment alone?" Lucas asked gently, sensing that Andrea had something important to say.
"Okay, Daddy," Pete replied obediently, leaving the ward.
Andrea hesitated before walking over and sitting beside Lucas, her eyes meeting his smiling face.
"Valentine has been released by Margret Willow," she began, fidgeting nervously. "He promised never to come to Vegas and trouble us again. I dropped the case without your permission. You're not mad, are you?"
Lucas smiled warmly. "No, I'm not mad. You can never be wrong in my eyes. No matter what you do, you're always right."
A sweet feeling warmed Andrea's heart, and she blushed, mumbling, "You're so unreliable."
Seeing her reaction, Lucas grinned happily. Before he could say another word, Andrea suddenly leaned in and kissed him.
She quickly pulled back, looking down shyly. Lucas licked his lips, savoring the moment. He then leaned forward and captured her lips again, the two of them kissing passionately and exploring each other's embrace.
The ward door opened, and Pete walked in, his eyes wide with curiosity. "Mom and Daddy, what are you doing?"
Seeing his innocent expression, Lucas and Andrea burst into laughter.
