Chapter 91: Hello Dear Sister

Chapter 91: Hello Dear Sister

Andrea's eyes widened in shock, her breath hitching as she stared at the intricate butterfly tattoo adorning the man's chest before her. It was identical to the one she'd seen on Valentine Anderson's skin, down to the finest detail. However, the man standing in front of her was a stark contrast to Valentine in demeanor and presence.

Sensing her turmoil, Lucas Anderson cast a knowing glance at her. The corners of his lips curled into a sly smile as he closed the distance between them.

"I thought you said you wanted me to make love to you. Have you changed your mind?" he teased, his voice smooth as silk.

With every step he took forward, Andrea retreated, her earlier boldness dissolving into a bashful timidity. She cast her eyes downward, her cheeks burning with a blush that betrayed her inner turmoil.

The air between them was thick with awkwardness.

"I want to eat you," Lucas jested, taking another deliberate step toward her.

Andrea, overwhelmed by his words, turned on her heel and scampered out of the room, her flight ending with the sharp sound of the door slamming behind her.

Lucas's laughter, which had filled the room moments before, ceased abruptly as the door's echo faded. His smile vanished as he looked down at his chest. He reached for a handkerchief on the table and with a few swipes, wiped away the tattoo from his skin.

If Andrea had witnessed this, she would have been utterly bewildered; Valentine Anderson's tattoo was permanent and indelible.

A self-satisfied smirk played across Lucas's lips. He had drawn the imitation tattoo upon receiving word that Tony was visiting Andrea's office. Anticipating her curiosity, he had prepared the temporary mark just in time for her arrival.

His phone buzzed, drawing his attention. Fishing it out of his pocket, he read the text message from one of his subordinates. A dark, intrigued smile spread over his face as he murmured, "Interesting."

Finished with his silent commentary, he dressed in a fresh shirt he took from a hanger. His eyes narrowed with focus, and he muttered "Tony" under his breath, a hint of a nefarious plan brewing in his mind.

Tony was unaware that his presence at the Anderson residence was already known to Lucas Anderson.

Seated in the living room, Tony waited for Benita Anderson's return. Minutes later, Benita's car pulled into the garage. As she stepped out, the weariness was evident in her furrowed brow, and her demeanor was somewhat downcast. Her life had been a whirlwind of activity lately, shuttling between her office and the hospital, even spending nights at the hospital bedside of her ailing mother. The large mansion now felt daunting to inhabit alone, and she found herself regretting her dismissal of potential suitors from the past few days.

Massaging her temples to soothe her headache, she was greeted by the butler, "Miss Benita, welcome home. You have a guest waiting in the living room."

Caught off guard by the unexpected visitor, since her friends typically met her at work or out for social gatherings, Benita couldn't hide her surprise. "Who is it?" she inquired, curious about who it could be.

"The gentleman's name is Tony," replied the butler.

At the mention of the name, Benita's body tensed, and then she stormed into the living room, furious, like a mother wolf protecting her pup.

Upon seeing Tony, she erupted, "What are you doing here? Get out!"

Tony, remaining calm and collected, attempted to pacify her, "Miss Benita Anderson, I know there's animosity between us, but please, I need to discuss something of great importance with you."

Benita's laughter was tinged with anger as her face contorted with emotion.

Discuss matters with the person she blamed for her family's misfortune? Impossible!

"I'll call security and the police if you don't leave," she threatened vehemently.

"Stop being unreasonable, Benita. This is crucial," Tony said, frowning, surprised by her intense reaction. He regretted coming, knowing she would be so distressed.

A look of disbelief crossed Benita's tear-streaked face.

"Unreasonable? You think you're the reasonable one? Your 'reasonableness' led to my brother's death, to my mother's fight for life in the hospital. How can you expect me to be reasonable with you?" she countered, her voice breaking with grief.

Tony, seeing her distress, began, "I understand how you feel—"

"No, you don't!" Benita cut him off sharply. "If you did, you'd be leaving."

Without another word, she turned to leave, her heartache palpable.

Before she could exit, Tony called out, "Your brother who married Andrea isn't Valentine Anderson; it's Lucas Anderson, his twin."

Benita paused, turning back to face Tony, tears welling in her eyes.

With a heavy sigh, Tony continued, "Don’t you want to see your brother again? Don't you want your mother to recover?"

"My brother is alive?" Benita's voice shook as she interrupted.

"He's alive. Not everyone perished in the explosion. I need your help, Benita. We need to show Andrea that the man she's with isn't Valentine Anderson but his twin brother. I can't do this without you," Tony explained earnestly.

After a moment of contemplation, Benita returned, her expression resolute. "I'll help you expose the truth about my brother."

Relieved, Tony let out a sigh. He had expected more resistance, but Benita had agreed more readily than he'd hoped.

"We'll meet Andrea at her office tomorrow. I should go now. Could I have your number to coordinate?" Tony suggested.

They exchanged numbers, and Tony promptly departed the Anderson estate. Meanwhile, Benita had a quick meal, bathed, and then drove to the hospital to be with her mother.

After parking her car, she made her way to Mrs. Anderson's ward. As she gazed at her mother resting peacefully on the bed, with no chance of awakening, Benita's fists tightened with resolve.

In a sudden twist of events, the light bulb in the ward began to flicker. Before Benita could comprehend the situation, the entire ward was plunged into darkness.

"Hello, dear sister," an eerie voice echoed in the blackout.
