Chapter 42: Her Comeback

Chapter 42: Her Comeback

Housekeeper Win found herself in a challenging situation where she couldn't defy the influential Mr. Gibson, a prominent figure in Sunshine City, nor could she compel Andrea to leave her room. She attempted to reason with Mr. Gibson, promising, "Mr. Gibson, I will ensure that Ma’am Andrea contacts you as soon as she is available."

Mr. Gibson reacted with a derisive snort before retorting, "If you won't inform her, I shall do it myself."

Panicked, Housekeeper Win replied hastily, "I will go and alert her of your presence immediately."

Mr. Gibson grunted in dissatisfaction before reclining in his chair.

Hurrying to Andrea's room, Housekeeper Win knocked twice, receiving no response. Fearing the worst, she pushed open the door.

Upon seeing Andrea seated on her bed, gazing out the window while holding Mr. Singer's bloodstained shirt, a pang of sorrow pierced Housekeeper Win's heart.

Suppressing her emotions, she approached Andrea and said, "Ma'am Andrea, Mr. Gibson and several family members are here to meet with you. They are insistent on speaking with you."

Housekeeper Win waited for a response from Andrea, but none came. Assuming that Andrea had not heard her, she repeated herself a little louder.

Still receiving no response and noticing that Andrea didn't even acknowledge her, Housekeeper Win concluded that Andrea was not in a condition to entertain guests. She spoke up, "Ma'am Andrea, I will inform them that you are not feeling well and unable to meet with them."

With a bow of her head, Housekeeper Win quickly made her way back to the living room. When Mr. Gibson realized that Andrea was not with her, he stood up in anger.

"Where is she? Did you deliver my message?" Mr. Gibson demanded, his face flushed with anger.

In a panic, Housekeeper Win replied, "Mr. Gibson, Ma'am Andrea is still grieving and cannot come down to see you. I will represent her and attend to your needs. Please let me know the purpose of your visit, and I will convey your message to her!"

Upon hearing Housekeeper Win's words, Mr. Gibson grew increasingly discontent. How dare this gold-digger display such arrogance before him? Not even Mr. Singers had ever looked down on him in such a manner. His anger flared even more.

"I will personally investigate where she found the audacity to disregard our presence," Mr. Gibson said with a sneer, gesturing as the other family heads rose to their feet.

Leading the way, Mr. Gibson strode towards the staircase. Housekeeper Win's face blanched with fear as she anxiously exclaimed, "Mr. Gibson, you mustn't go in."

"You're just a lowly housekeeper. Who are you to dictate to me?" Mr. Gibson retorted. "If Mr. Singers were still alive, I might have heeded his advice, but now that he's gone..." he scoffed, pushing forward.

Housekeeper Win hastily blocked the staircase with her fragile body, pleading, "Mr. Gibson, please reconsider. I can persuade Ma'am Andrea to come out and speak with you..."

"Win, allow me to handle this," a commanding voice cut in, halting Gibson and his entourage in their tracks.

As Housekeeper Win turned, her eyes met Agatha. accompanied by ten men in suits, and a wave of relief washed over her as if she had found her savior.

Mr. Gibson pivoted to face Agatha, his eyes widening in recognition. The sight of Agatha was an ominous portent for him and his group; he knew firsthand of Agatha's fearsome reputation during Mr. Singers' rule over Sunshine City.

"Mr. Gibson, l assume you are here to reclaim the shares you bestowed upon Mrs. Singers Andrea," Agatha stated impassively before signaling to one of the suited men.

The man in suit stepped forward and extended a document from his briefcase towards Mr. Gibson. "I am attorney Hart Hijak, and I will be handling this case. You are facing charges of infringement of private property," he declared.

Following Agatha's instructions, the attorneys accompanying her swiftly served summonses to all the heads of the families present, accusing them of infringing on private property and causing emotional damages that could result in significant financial losses.

Mr. Gibson felt a sense of defeat wash over him as he realized the formidable nature of Mr. Singers' legal team. Known for their intimidating tactics and flawless track record, they had never lost a case, no matter how challenging. They had a reputation for twisting facts to serve their own interests, turning white to black and black to brown as needed.

Mr. Gibson, seething with anger, clenched his teeth in silence. He had come to reclaim the lost shares, only to find himself facing a barrage of infringement and unwarranted emotional accusations in court.

"Agatha!" His voice reverberated with fury as he called out her name, his eyes ablaze with rage, the urge to lash out almost overwhelming.

"If you wish to add more charges, Gibson, feel free to continue this charade," Agatha retorted nonchalantly, unfazed by his outburst.

"Let's go," Mr. Gibson spat out, his anger palpable as he turned on his heel and stormed off with his entourage.

Housekeeper Win breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that Agatha was back. With her presence, the troublemakers would think twice before causing any more trouble for Ma'am Andrea.

"Miss Agatha, it's a relief to have you back. Your presence will help keep those troublemakers at bay," Housekeeper Win said gratefully.

Agatha's return was uncertain, and the prospect of facing everyone, especially Andrea, weighed heavily on her mind. She had only come back to take care of Mr. Gibson and his crew.

"How is Andrea holding up?" Agatha inquired cautiously.

Housekeeper Win let out a rueful sigh before replying, "Miss Agatha, Ma'am Andrea hasn't eaten since she returned from the hospital, and she hasn't spoken to anyone. I'm truly worried about her. Why don't you go and check on her, and talk to her?"

Agatha's heart raced, and she shook her head hastily, saying, "I'll see her another day."

With that, she hurriedly left without waiting for Housekeeper Win's response. As she stepped outside, she collided with Tony, who had just returned from making arrangements for Mr. Singer's funeral.

Upon hearing of Mr. Gibson's visit, Tony had abandoned the funeral preparations and rushed back to the Singer mansion.

"Tony," Agatha called out softly, her expression clouded with guilt and remorse.
