Chapter 603: You Still Love Him, Don’t You

"I’m going after him now," Wyatt said, fired up.

But Dave calmly patted both of them on the shoulder. "You’re overreacting. Not all of our enemies have shown themselves yet; it’s not time to act."

"What? Are you saying..."

Zane and Wyatt looked at each other, confused by what Dave just said.

"Is someone else involved?"

Zane rubbed his chin, thinking. "I didn’t know all the details before, but there was that business reception. I knew you’d be there, Boss, so I made a few arrangements ahead of time."

After hearing Zane, Wyatt suddenly remembered that Dave had once told him to look into Brenda.

"But I didn’t find anything strange," Wyatt said.

Dave gave a small smirk. "Let’s wait. They’ll slip up sooner or later."

Meanwhile, inside the room, Bianca untied Reese and sat down across from her.

"Reese, you’ve clearly misunderstood Dave this time. What happened to Blake had nothing to do with him. I don’t know why Blake made you believe otherwise," Bianca said as she gently took Reese’s hand and looked her in the eyes.

"Brady’s death was a suicide. I was there. I chose to remain silent to protect Blake from the pain. But when Phoenix Alliance Group’s stock crashed, it was Brady’s scheme. He brought it on himself. If things hadn’t turned around, it would’ve been Dave jumping off that building, not him."

"I’ve always loved Dave. Blake was just a friend. Our engagement was something our families arranged, nothing more."

Bianca let out a long sigh. "Do you really think I’d be happy with Blake?"

Reese lowered her head without saying a word. After Dave left to meet Bianca, Wyatt showed her solid proof and police reports that exposed all of Blake’s lies. It left her with nothing to say. Now, sitting in front of Bianca, she felt too ashamed to look up.

"I... I didn’t know. That’s not what he told me," Reese whispered.

"I know it’s hard for you to accept the truth," Bianca explained softly. "Honestly, I didn’t want to believe it either."

It hurt Bianca to see how much Blake had changed. He wasn’t the same person anymore; he’d become manipulative, even dangerous. And the worst part was how he’d lied to Reese and used her to go after Dave.

"Reese, I don’t know if you see me as a sister, but I’ve always treated you like one. What you almost did... it could’ve ruined your life."

Tears filled Reese’s eyes. She bit her lip and whispered, "I’m sorry, Bianca. I know you’ve always been kind to me. I’ve always seen you as my sister, too. I just wasn’t thinking. I only wanted to help Blake. I made him a promise..."

Bianca had known Reese once had feelings for Blake, but she never thought those feelings would push her this far to risk everything just to take Dave down.

"You still love him, don’t you?" Bianca asked softly.

Reese was shaking all over. Her lips trembled, but she couldn’t say a word for a long time. Then, she slowly nodded.

“I’m sorry, Bianca. I just… I can’t let him go,” she whispered, her voice barely holding together.

Bianca let out a heavy sigh, clearly upset. “Reese, love doesn’t mean following someone blindly. You just do whatever he says without thinking. If his plan worked, your name would be ruined. Then what? What about your future? Your career? The life you’ve worked so hard for?”

“I…” Reese hesitated, her mind spinning. She knew the risks, but saying no to Blake felt impossible.

“This isn’t love, Reese. It’s foolishness,” Bianca snapped. Her voice had turned cold. The anger in her eyes wasn’t just for Reese, it was for Blake too. He had gone too far.

Blake wasn’t just being careless. He was ready to ruin Reese’s name and future just to get what he wanted.

Bianca clenched her fists, the disappointment hitting her hard. “I don’t even know who he is anymore. He goes on one trip, and suddenly he’s someone completely different.”

She gently helped Reese up. “Now that you know the truth, you need to think straight. Don’t let your feelings push you off the edge.”

“I’m sorry, Bianca,” Reese said, her voice shaking as tears filled her eyes. “I’ve been so stupid. After everything you’ve done for me… I let you down. I…”

She trembled, trying to speak, but the words wouldn’t come. Her emotions had taken over.

Instinctively, Bianca pulled Reese into a hug and gently rubbed her back. “It’s okay,” she mumbled. “What matters is we talked it out. Thank God for Zane. If he hadn’t stepped in, things could’ve ended badly.”

Reese paused, then asked in a small voice, “Bianca, do you hate me?”

“No,” Bianca said firmly. “This isn’t your fault. Blake fooled you.”

Just thinking about Blake gave Bianca a headache. She still had no idea how this was all going to end.

At that moment, the door slowly opened, and Dave walked in. His face was completely blank.

Reese quickly hid behind Bianca, fear written all over her face.

Dave looked around the room, then spoke in his usual calm voice. “How did it go?”

“We talked things through. And stop acting so cold, you’re scaring her,” Bianca said, frowning.

She turned to Reese, her voice firm but gentle. “Don’t be scared. He only looks like he’s made of stone, but he’s not as scary as he seems. And just so you know, I don’t blame you. I won’t let him blame you either. Right, Dave?” She gave him a playful wink.

“Yes,” Dave nodded. “You were used. I’m not blaming you for any of this.”

Reese let out a shaky breath, some of the tension leaving her shoulders. But the worry in her eyes stayed. “What do I do now? Blake’s not just going to let this go. What if he shows up? What am I supposed to say to him?”

“That’s the big question,” Bianca said, tapping her chin as she thought. “Now that his plan’s ruined, he’ll be scrambling. He’ll want to shut you up before you say anything.”

She looked at Dave. “Well, you’re the one with all the sneaky tricks. Got anything useful?”

“Of course I have a plan,” Dave said clearly, his tone firm but controlled. “But I’m hesitant to share it since some people like to call me sneaky.”

He glanced at Reese. “And like it or not, the plan depends on her.”

Reese looked down, her face full of guilt. “I shouldn’t have called you that. I’m sorry.”

Bianca stepped closer, clearly running out of patience. She shot Dave a sharp look, then rolled her eyes. “Alright, enough with the drama. Just say it.”
