Accidentally Slept With The Ruthless Billionaire

Chapter 548: Brady’s Revenge

Chapter 548: Brady’s Revenge

To bring Blake back and make Lawson Group the strongest, he secured hundreds of billions in foreign loans. The interest rates were high, but he didn’t care. As long as he kept shorting Phoenix Alliance Group and Evans Group, he believed it would pay off.

Even if they managed to settle things for now, the stock market would still crush Phoenix Alliance Group in the end.

“Dave, take this as a lesson. Never sign deals you don’t fully understand.” Brady chuckled, feeling satisfied. In his mind, Evans Group would soon fall, and Lawson Group would rise above all others. People would envy him, respect him, and praise him. Blake would become the most powerful heir in Edenfield.

With Lawson Group stepping in, Phoenix Alliance Group’s name started trending again.

But the real fight was just beginning. Even though the stock market had closed, online forums were full of chatter. People were busy analyzing how Phoenix Alliance Group’s stock might move the next day.

Right when everyone was holding their breath, the moderator of the financial section dropped breaking news.

“Several international institutions have entered the market. They’re looking to buy up undervalued assets, with Phoenix Alliance Group as a top target after today’s sharp drop.”

The news hit like a rock in still water. It shook up the silence and grabbed the attention of even the most cautious investors. The forums exploded with comments as people rushed to check if the news was real.

Because of the time difference, it was already business hours overseas even though it was night locally.

“This news is real. My classmates in Northern Europe saw it on their local news.”

“I’m in Australia. It’s true over here too.”

“In Northern Europe, almost every tech company is rushing to buy while prices are low. What’s going on with Phoenix Alliance Group?”

“Wait, seriously? This feels like a financial world war!”

“I’m buying as soon as the market opens tomorrow! Let’s go! We can’t let foreign investors grab our local assets for cheap, right?”

Switching from the stock market updates, several TV channels started airing interviews with former Phoenix Alliance Group employees. Their faces were blurred, but they spoke out, exposing shady deals and unethical practices inside the company.

Brady watched it all from his seat, feeling pleased. He had just finished a call with Lucas, updating him on Rachel’s condition and the so-called rescue efforts.

As soon as he heard the news, Lucas’s voice rose in anger. “You… you better take care of Rachel!”

Those words echoed in Brady’s mind. He had planned to break the news of Rachel’s death to the Evans family the next day. He wanted to shake Lucas, to leave him heartbroken. He also knew it would hit Dave hard—Rachel was his aunt, after all.

Brady’s plan was working. He wanted to cause chaos. Just like tonight, when Lucas didn’t even ask him to help Dave.

That day, Dave had gathered a huge amount of Phoenix Alliance Group shares. When the market opened tomorrow, he planned to keep selling. If others sold too, he’d buy up their shares and sell them again at even lower prices.

Brady swirled his wine, then drank it in one go like he was swallowing the Evans Group’s blood. He had come too far to stop now. It was time to take everything.

Feeling restless, Brady got dressed and grabbed the hospital’s surveillance footage. He was heading to see Lucas, and wanted to offer fake sympathy. He’d say Rachel had died that afternoon and blame himself for not doing more.

He was sure Dave would show up. Without him, Phoenix Alliance Group would collapse.

Maybe Lucas wouldn’t survive the blow. Maybe tonight, grief would break him.

“Get the car ready. We’re going to the old Evans house.”

Brady's grin widened without meaning to. His desire was obvious, he wanted to see the Evans family fall, and now it was happening right in front of him.

"The rest lies in your hands. I’ll be waiting for your victorious call at Evans Mansion," he said with confidence.

"Brady, don’t worry. We won’t disappoint you," one of his men replied.

"Hehehe, excellent!" Brady chuckled, satisfied.

He stood up with a youthful energy, even with streaks of grey in his hair. His sharp eyes didn’t flicker as his convoy slowly pulled away.

Meanwhile, Bianca finally reached the entrance of Phoenix Alliance Group. It had been a long day of unanswered calls and messages to Dave. She knew how important this moment was for the company, and she was sure he was working hard on a plan. She couldn’t let him handle it all by himself.

After working nonstop to secure funds, she had made up her mind—she would buy more shares in Phoenix Alliance Group tomorrow.

They couldn’t risk the company’s value dropping below the danger line. If that happened, the losses would be massive.

Ever since the last security incident, the two hidden bodyguards had been assigned to protect her. They moved quickly through the building and made it to the floor where Dave’s meeting was supposed to be.

But the meeting room door was shut.

Was Dave not in a meeting at such a critical time? Or had he already gone somewhere else?

Without waiting, Bianca went straight to his office. She saw the light was on and knocked on the door.

The door swung open, and Wyatt appeared. He raised a finger to his lips, signaling Bianca to stay quiet, then pointed toward Dave, who was slumped over his desk, fast asleep. They stepped out of the office silently.

"How long… how long has he been like that?" Bianca asked in a whisper.

"I’m not sure. He’s been worn out lately. When I checked him a moment ago, he was already asleep," Wyatt replied with a tired sigh.

Bianca felt a deep ache in her chest. Right then, she was painfully aware of her own helplessness. If only she were stronger, maybe she could take some of the burdens off his shoulders.

Not wanting to interrupt the rare chance for Dave to rest, she turned to leave. But before she could take a step, the office door creaked open behind her.

Dave stood there as his tall figure blocked the light.

"Come in," he mumbled softly.

As soon as Bianca stepped inside, Dave pulled her into a hug.

"Dave, are you alright?" she asked gently, worry in her voice.

He didn’t answer. He just buried his face in her hair, holding her tightly.

Bianca wrapped her arms around him. "I heard about what’s happening with Phoenix Alliance Group," she whispered. "Let’s face it together."
