Chapter 532: Come Back First
Chapter 532: Come Back First
Wyatt’s words hit Dave hard. He didn’t expect it to be Rupert. But if Rupert pulled off something that big, he must’ve had Lucas’s support.
“Yeah,” Wyatt continued. “The Evans Group hides a lot, but there are always loopholes, especially when people feel threatened. I found the fund transfer records from that day, papers with official signatures, and a recorded call between Rupert and the guy to whom he gave the order. That guy knew how to protect himself. He recorded everything.”
Dave’s face lit up. The pain in his eyes faded. Knowing Wyatt was alive was already the best news.
And now, Wyatt had not only found out who was behind it but also gathered real proof on his own. He had shown exactly why he once led the mafia.
“Wyatt, you’ve been through a lot. Come back first. We’ll figure out our next steps once you’re safe.”
Dave asked him to keep everything they discussed a secret. He promised to send a private plane to bring him back.
After the call ended, Dave leaned against the wall and shut his eyes for a moment. “I see now. I gave you too much credit, Rupert.”
He finally saw the full picture. If Rupert wanted to cause trouble for his own gain, Dave wasn’t going to let that happen.
But right now, there were more urgent things to deal with.
“Dave, who were you talking to?” Bianca asked quietly. She noticed the slight frown on his face.
He opened his eyes and answered in a low voice.
“It was Wyatt. He’s alive.”
Bianca’s eyes lit up. “Really? That’s such a relief.” She finally let out the breath she’d been holding.
“Bianca, the crash wasn’t an accident,” Dave told her the truth. Rupert planned the whole thing. He was also the one turning his grandfather against him.
It was clear now; that Bianca was going to be Rupert’s next target.
“From now on, my secret guards will be with you at all times,” Dave said seriously.
But Bianca didn’t feel any better. Her eyes lost their shine. She couldn’t let things go on like this. Dave was carrying everything on his own. She felt like she was only adding to his load. She didn’t know what to do to help him.
Dave noticed her silence. “What’s wrong?” he asked.
Bianca blinked, then suddenly remembered something. “Wait… how did you find out about the necklace?”
“Rupert told me,” Dave said.
“In that case, Lucas must already know. And Rupert will definitely worsen the situation.”
Bianca thought back to her talk with Lucas at the old house.
Adding the necklace to that, it must’ve made things worse. Lucas probably misunderstood everything.
She said she didn’t care about money. But then she pawned the red diamond for cash. To Lucas, it would look like she was pretending and she was a scheming woman with hidden motives.
If Rupert kept pushing the story, the misunderstanding would only grow.
Bianca knew she had to explain it herself. But Lucas clearly wanted to get rid of her now. How could she make him believe her?
Bianca felt stuck. She didn’t know how to make Lucas trust her. With the current situation, getting the chance to explain everything face-to-face seemed almost impossible.

The night felt like it would never end. Bianca barely got any sleep. She kept trying to take her mind off things, but the same thoughts kept coming back.
When she finally opened her eyes, it was almost noon.
“Damn it. I overslept!” she said, sitting up quickly. She grabbed her phone to check if anyone had called.
“Strange… not even one missed call.”
Thankfully, nothing seemed urgent. She let out a breath and got out of bed.
As she walked out of the bedroom, she saw a beautiful breakfast set neatly on the table.
The food was covered with a glass lid. Tucked under the corner was a note.
Dave had written it in bold, clear handwriting.
"I'm off to work. Breakfast is ready on the table. Don’t forget to eat, my dear.”
Bianca smiled as she read the note. She turned and looked around the house that now felt like home—just the two of them lived here. She remembered how Dave once called her a little wild cat he had rescued.
Thinking back, she realized something. She had really become part of this family. Maybe it was meant to be. They had gone through so much, learned from it, and grown closer.
The smell of the food filled the room, and it brought back sweet memories of the times they had shared.
After eating, Bianca quietly packed her things and picked up her bag.
The two secret guards stood tall by the door. When they saw Bianca, they gave a respectful bow and said, “Mrs. Evans!”
Bianca almost choked on her own saliva. She had no idea what Dave had told these two before leaving. How did things change so much after just one night?
“Um... Can you not call me that when we’re outside?” she asked. “Just use my name.”
The two guards looked at each other, clearly unsure.
Bianca didn’t know what else to say. It was pointless to argue about it. She didn’t want to make things harder for them.
“Never mind. It’s fine,” she said with a small sigh, then walked away.
After opening up to Dave last night, she felt lighter. She quickly got in her car and drove back to the company.
Diana had been waiting for a while. She saw Bianca from a distance. She squinted and gave her a playful grin.
Bianca touched her face, a little confused. "Diana, why are you smiling like that? Do I have something on my face?"
Diana bounced over like a curious little deer. She leaned close and whispered, "Did you sleep well last night? You look so fresh today and your cheeks are glowing!"
Bianca looked baffled. "I didn’t sleep until morning. Do I really look that different?"
Diana giggled and covered her mouth. "Sounds like a fun night! Up till dawn, huh? Just don’t overdo it. Take care of your health."
Bianca froze for a second, then realized what Diana meant.
"You! What are you even saying?"
Her cheeks turned red. She felt embarrassed by the way Diana misunderstood everything. The truth was, she had been lost in thought all night.
"That’s not what you think. I just couldn’t sleep. Something was bothering me," Bianca said quickly, hoping Diana wouldn’t get the wrong idea.
Diana raised an eyebrow. "Seriously? I’m not that innocent, you know. You’ve been living with Dave for a while now. And you expect me to believe nothing’s happened?"
