Chapter 517: What Do You Want From Me?
Chapter 517: What Do You Want From Me?
Wyatt’s voice dropped to a cold whisper. “You need to understand what’s happening. You either break that deal with Dave or you die.”
He pressed the blade harder. A thin line of blood appeared on Skylar’s neck. His eyes stared into hers—cold like her life meant nothing.
“Please don’t! What do you want from me?” Skylar cried out. Her voice shook. The pain and his heartless stare filled her with fear. She thought he was only trying to scare her but now she knew he meant every word.
Wyatt saw the fear in her eyes. With a scoff, he picked up her phone from the table.
“Call him,” he ordered. “End the deal yourself. You already know what to say. I won’t tell you.”
Skylar nodded slowly. Her hands trembled as she used her face to unlock the phone. “Can you untie one of my hands?” she asked softly.
Wyatt ignored the request. He dialed Dave’s number himself and held the phone near her mouth. “No need,” he said. “I’ll hold it.”
After a few seconds, the line connected.
Dave’s deep voice came through the speaker.
Skylar quickly looked at Wyatt, then raised her voice. “Dave! I saved your life! And this is how you repay me? By sending someone to kidnap me? Let me tell you this—our deal still stands. Even if I die, you’ll never marry Bianca! Never! She’s not going to be your wife!”
Wyatt’s expression darkened. He cut the call and tossed the phone aside.
Wyatt’s eyes burned with anger. “You’re asking for death,” he said sharply.
Skylar laughed, wild and bitter. “Even if I die, I’ll make sure they suffer!”
Wyatt’s hatred for people who broke promises flared. Old wounds and betrayals flashed through his mind.
But he had made a promise to Dave—not to kill anyone. He wouldn't break it.
All he wanted was to scare Skylar enough to make her take back the deal she made with Dave.
Back when Wyatt led a gang, trust meant everything.
“Pushing me won’t get you a quick death,” he warned. “You clearly don’t know who I am. I’m good at making life unbearable—pain that never stops.”
He grabbed Skylar’s hair and yanked her down, chair and all.
“Ah! My hair…” she screamed, pain shooting through her scalp. “What are you doing?”
At that moment, Dave kept calling, but no one picked up. His worry grew with every ring.
Next to him, Bianca frowned. “What’s going on?”
Dave’s eyes darkened with anger. “It was Skylar,” he said. “She said someone kidnapped her. I think it might be Wyatt.”
Bianca gasped. “Why are you waiting? Call him now!”
Skylar’s call didn’t sit right. Dave had to check with Wyatt.
He dialed, but the line kept coming up busy. His jaw tightened.
Bianca looked worried. A bad feeling crept over her. Could Wyatt really have done it?
Dave didn’t waste a second. “Find Wyatt’s location. Now!” he ordered his team.
He and Bianca rushed to the garage without delay.
“I don’t get it,” Bianca said as she climbed into the car. “Why would Wyatt kidnap Skylar? It doesn’t make sense.” She tapped her fingers nervously on her leg.
“We’ll know once we face him,” Dave replied as he started the engine.
Just then, his phone rang. It was another call from his team.
“Good. Take the team and head out right away!”
Dave replayed the words in his head.
“Golden Harvest Ranch,” he muttered, gripping the steering wheel tighter.
The name hung in the air like a bad omen. It was a quiet ranch by the sea, tucked away on the city’s edge.
Known for fresh milk and top-grade beef, it usually serves the rich. But today, something much darker was hidden there.
Wyatt had taken over as the ranch manager.
After Wyatt got out of prison, Dave felt he owed him—for the advice and loyalty Wyatt had shown. So, he gave him the estate as a sign of deep thanks.
But now, when Dave tried to call the ranch office, there was nothing. The line stayed dead.
What was Wyatt up to?
Dave’s jaw tightened. His frustration was building fast.
It would take at least thirty minutes to reach the ranch—maybe longer if heavy traffic occurred.
“Don’t do something stupid, Wyatt. You promised me you wouldn’t kill,” Dave thought to himself.
“Slow down, Dave,” Bianca said, gripping the door handle tightly.
“Please… just drive safe.”
Back at the ranch, Wyatt pulled Skylar by the hair toward the open cold storage room.
This wasn’t like a regular fridge. It was freezing—made to keep meat in deep freeze for a long time.
The temperature inside stayed between -18°C and -25°C. In cold like that, a person could start losing awareness and get frostbite all over in just 15 to 20 minutes.
How long would it take to kill her? Maybe an hour. Maybe less.
Wyatt pulled the control lever. The thick door groaned as it opened.
A cloud of white mist poured out, wrapping around them like a ghost. The cold hit hard. Skylar’s screams turned into short, panicked gasps.
“Don’t…” she begged. Her voice was weak, and her breath floated in the icy air like smoke.
Wyatt narrowed his eyes. “Do you regret it now?”
When Wyatt asked the question, his face showed a mix of emotions. He looked like he was deep in thought.
The truth was, he couldn’t remember how many people he had killed.
He used to lead a gang. But the people he trusted turned against him. That betrayal landed him in a mental hospital.
He was filled with hate. All he thought about was getting revenge. He waited for the right time to escape and strike back.
That was where he met Dave.
When Dave offered to help him get a new identity, Wyatt refused.
He believed he couldn’t move on until he got his revenge. He was firm about it.
“If I survive, keep your promise,” Wyatt said with a small laugh, knowing he might not make it. “If I die, then maybe that’s just how it’s meant to be.” His smile was faint and didn’t reach his eyes.
Dave was only sixteen then. He gave a small nod and didn’t try to stop him.
To Dave, Wyatt’s life didn’t mean much.
If Wyatt died, it would save Dave the trouble of helping a former gang leader start over.
But for Wyatt, there was no turning back. He was set on avenging his fallen friends and putting an end to the chaos. He was ready to die if he had to.
The gang’s hideout hadn’t changed since he left. But the members had grown weak. Wyatt took them down fast.
