Accidentally Slept With The Ruthless Billionaire

Chapter 505: Skylar Betrayed Him

Chapter 505: Skylar Betrayed Him

Reece ran through the warehouse, looking around quickly for Skylar.

The place was wide open. There was nowhere to hide.

There was no way out, and the killer was getting closer.

Panic started to rise as he saw he was trapped. He knew he had no choice but to fight.

But the killer had a weapon. Reece had nothing.

Suddenly, someone jumped out from behind a nearby container.

In a blur of black, the figure crashed into the killer.

The killer flew back, and his knife hit the ground with a loud clatter.

Realizing he had lost, the attacker tried to run.

The way the stranger moved in a swift motion and with force, made it clear he was way stronger than the killer.

The killer jumped up and ran for the door.

But just then, two people blocked his way.

It was Dave and Bianca.

Why were they here?

Bianca saw that Reece was okay and let out a breath of relief.

“We got here just in time!” Bianca said, out of breath.

The killer, now trapped, pulled a dagger from his boot and rushed at her.

Dave reacted fast and stepped in front of Bianca without thinking twice. Instantly, the blade was pressed against his throat.

This had never happened before. No one had ever taken Dave hostage.

“Always trying to be the hero, huh?” the killer growled. "Let me go, or I'll slit your throat!"

Wyatt, who was helping Reece, started to move toward Dave to help.

But Reece saw the knife at Dave’s neck and yelled, “You came for me! Leave everyone else out of this!”

Bianca looked at Dave. Even with a blade at his throat, he stayed calm. She smiled, knowing he could handle it.

Then, in a flash, everything changed.

In a flash, Dave broke out of the killer’s hold, took the weapon, and slammed him to the ground.

Wyatt rushed over and pressed his knee into the killer’s back, wrapping his hands tightly around the man’s throat.

“What now?” he asked, waiting for Dave to decide.

One word, and it would all be over.

Reece stood frozen, shocked. He had never seen Dave fight before. He never imagined someone so calm could be this dangerous.

That knife had been inches from his neck.

Dave’s quick moves, calm face, and sharp reflexes made one thing clear—he was a true expert, someone who always kept his real strength hidden.

He looked over at Reece with a slight smirk. “I just saved your life, and that’s the look you give me?”

Then he glanced down at the man pinned under Wyatt.

That’s when it hit Reece hard—the killer was after him.

Skylar had set this all up. She brought him here… and now she had vanished.

A cold thought crept into his mind. Something wasn’t right.

He pushed the thought aside and walked toward the man on the ground.

“Who sent you to kill me? Who wants me dead? Tell me. Who?” he asked, his voice low and rough.

The anger was clear in his tone.

He felt betrayed.

The killer gave a cold sneer and stayed silent.

Wyatt punched him hard in the jaw, and the man groaned in pain.

Blood spilled from his mouth. Reece felt a bitter sense of satisfaction.

“Tell me!” Reece shouted, his voice shaking. “Who sent you?”

Deep down, he hoped the answer wouldn’t confirm what he feared most.

Reece silently begged that the killer wouldn’t destroy his last bit of hope.

“Talk, or you’ll wish you were dead,” Wyatt said coldly, pressing his knee into the man’s leg.

The killer twisted in pain, sweat dripping down his face.

“Speak, or I’ll show you what real torture feels like. I’m done waiting,” Wyatt warned.

The man’s face turned pale. He couldn’t take the pain much longer.

“Okay, I’ll talk… It was a woman. Miss Larson. She hired me to kill him,” the killer confessed.

Reece was stunned. His heart felt like it broke into pieces.

He stepped back, then dropped to the floor, staring in shock.

Tears mixed with the blood on his face.

Skylar... Could it really be her?

Reece’s eyes widened, and a bitter smile formed on his lips.

The truth was clear now.

“I… I’m so stupid…”

His voice echoed through the quiet warehouse, heavy with pain and disbelief.

Each word rang out like the sound of something breaking deep inside him.

Time felt like it stopped.

Reece’s mind filled with all the warm memories he had of Skylar.

He remembered her happy smiles.

But in the next moment, those memories broke apart.

“No! That’s not true! You’re lying!” he shouted.

Reece, nearly falling apart, staggered toward the killer and grabbed his collar tightly.

Bianca stepped forward to help, but Dave stopped her.

He shook his head, showing her that Reece needed to face this on his own.

Reece checked the killer’s pockets and pulled out a phone. It had call logs and messages from Skylar.

On the screen was today’s date, the location, and a photo of the target.

The photo was oddly cut in half.

But Reece knew it right away. His eyes went wide—it was a picture of him and Skylar, taken during their trip abroad.

He looked so full of life in that photo. He was happy.

The phone fell from his hand and hit the floor, shattering.

Just like his heart.

His hands shook uncontrollably. His whole body trembled. His breathing turned uneven.

With a dull thud, Reece dropped to the floor. His eyes were blank, drained of all life.

“Why? Why would Skylar do this to me?” he whispered. Then he let out a wild, broken laugh. “Why? I’m such a fool.”

Dave knelt beside him, held his shoulder, and looked into his eyes. “Do you want to know why?”

Reece suddenly jolted, clutching Dave’s hand. A small spark of hope lit up his face.

“You know? Please… tell me!”

Dave shook his head. Even if he had answers, Reece might not be ready to hear them.

“I have a way to make Skylar tell the truth,” Dave said. “But I need your help.”

Reece stared at Dave for a long moment, then gave a slow nod. The only way to be sure was to hear it from Skylar herself.

“So, what do you need me to do?”

Outside, the sky had grown darker. Thick clouds hid the afternoon sun, casting a shadow over everything.
