Destined by One Night: The CEO's Pursuit

Chapter 189

Chapter 189

Malcolm didn't stand up. His noble and condescending manner was eye-catching.

"I'm not going!" It was not that he did not want to go, but he could not go!

He couldn't wait any longer. He had brought Marilyn back safely before Yvonne did anything.

"Why?" Julian frowned. He couldn't wait to see if Marilyn was Bradley's daughter.

Moreover, he thought Malcolm cared about Marilyn.

And that Malcolm must want to see Dominic and Laverne!

Malcolm remained silent, however.

"Are you sure?" Julian looked at Malcolm sideways. "You want me to cook for you again?"

"Get lost!" Malcolm glared at him.

He would vomit if he had to try that again.

"Go get some food. I'm hungry." Malcolm said coldly, his eyes fixed on the computer.

"Crazy!" Julian cursed.

He then picked up the car key and went out for food.

The wind was blowing outside, the black clouds were low, and the tall buildings in the distance were almost reaching the horizon!

"It's going to rain again!" Julian glanced at the sky gloomily.

He went to the garage, took the car, and headed downtown.

For the Chapmans, today was a good day!

Bradley booked a table at a fancy restaurant. They enjoyed the meal happily.

Everybody was smiling with gratification.

Bradley and Elvira went abroad for their honeymoon because of Marilyn's effort.

Bradley's matter spread out in the commercial street!

It went viral on social media.

Everybody was talking about it online.

Bradley was very influential in both cities!

Roland saw the news too. He was not surprised. Bradley had always admired Elvira.

He had never mentioned it because he didn't want to bother Elvira!

However, he had taken care of her for so many years, and now they were finally together.

Meanwhile, Jeannie, who was far away in Goldmere, was sitting on a stool at the filming site. When she suddenly saw this news, she almost dropped her phone on the ground!

Arturo had just finished filming all the scenes. Jeannie was about to take him back. When she turned around, she saw Arturo. She said excitedly, "Arturo, come over and take a look. Your mom is an important person right now."

Arturo was speechless.

He smiled faintly. "Mommy, whatever my mom becomes, she will be your good friend forever!"

Jeannie felt delighted when she heard this. She looked at Arturo gently.

She pinched Arturo's little face. "Sweet boy. Are you happy that Mr. Greer has become your grandfather-in-law?"

Arturo smiled and nodded. "Mommy, yes. Mr. Greer and my grandma are now families."

Jeannie paused, she did not expect him to answer like this.

She laughed and said, "Arturo, Mr. Greer is very rich. Your mother will..."

"Mommy, my mother is not that kind of person. She doesn't want Mr. Greer's money. She wants him to have a home." Arturo interrupted Jeannie. He knew what she wanted to say.

He needed to defend Marilyn!

"My God! Arturo, how old are you? I haven't finished yet you knew what I wanted to say. But, sure, your mother is not a greedy person. I know that well.

"I mean, her life would become better now!"

Money was money, it went beyond anything.

Never owing anyone anything?

She had always felt guilty about owing the siblings, and she had tried all she could to return the favor.

Arturo smiled and didn't speak.

He didn't want Jeannie to misunderstand Marilyn.

"Arturo, let's go. We're done with work. Let's go back to the hotel. We'll film outdoors tomorrow, so we have to sleep early tonight." She got up.

Arturo nodded. Jeannie held his hand and walked out!

Arturo greeted everyone they passed by with a smile.

And everyone liked him a lot!

As Marilyn, Denise, Dominic, and Laverne were walking home along the river.

The air was particularly fresh after the rain.

Denise said with an envious look, "Lynn, your mother, and Mr. Greer must be happy!"

"Yes!" Marilyn smiled, "Mr. Greer is in charge of the Real Heights of both Fielddell and Goldmere. He is powerful and influential. Mom will have a better life with him."

She did not know why Elvira committed suicide seven years ago.

She didn't ask about it because she didn't want to make Elvira sad. She was waiting for Elvira to tell her.

"Yes! She will be very happy in the future! Mr. Greer is very good and approachable." Denise was still very envious in her heart.

She glanced at Marilyn and asked, "Lynn, you must have been very sensible when you were young, right?"

Marilyn smiled. "Denise, what makes you think so?"

Denise smiled and thought for a while, saying, "Lynn, I can tell from your personality!"

Marilyn forced a smile. "Denise, sometimes, being sensible is just to survive!"

Every girl wanted to be pampered by their parents and grow up like a little Princess.

She had once dreamed of living like that, but unfortunately, she couldn't.

After living with the Chamberses for a few years, she found out the truth. When someone surpassed others by a little bit, others would be jealous of him.

That was how she invited Sandy's jealousy at school.

But since that night seven years ago, she suddenly understood another truth. When someone surpasses others by a lot, others will envy him.

They wouldn't look at the person coldly but instead treat him like a hero.

During these years, she had felt a lot. But she was not devastated.

Instead, she was braver!

Denise felt the same when she heard this.

"Lynn, we will work hard to live a good life in the future and make ourselves better than now!" She would work on the barbecue and make it better. She was skillful, and she could earn herself a good life.

"Yes!" Marilyn smiled gently. The night breeze blew her soft hair. Tonight, she drank red wine. With the slight blush, she looked even more elegant and refined.

Laverne and Dominic silently followed behind the two of them.
