Chapter 38
Chapter 38
Marilyn took a sip of water and asked, "Mr. Lowe, where do you want to go for dinner?"
She knew that rich men were used to exotic delicacies. Unfortunately, Marilyn didn't think she had enough money to treat Malcolm to any expensive restaurants.
Malcolm looked at Marilyn's pure face. His eyes flashed slightly as he pondered. After a while, the corners of his lips curled up. "Let's go to the restaurant from last time. Its meals are pretty good." Malcolm and Julian also went to this restaurant many times.
Marilyn was happy to hear that because she could still afford to eat there.
"Let's go then! It's just the right time. It's crowded there on the weekend." Marilyn also liked that restaurant very much.
She couldn't wait to taste the seafood there.
That was her favorite.
Marilyn thought, "I'll go there with Roland another day!"
"Let's go!" Malcolm raised his head and drank some water.
Marilyn looked sideways and froze a bit. The moment Malcolm raised his head, his face looked more intoxicating than ever before.
Malcolm gave others a sense of alienation and indifference, but the light inadvertently shone from his eyes could always steal the hearts of the people who looked at him.
He was like Apollo. Malcolm's entire body gave off an oppressive aura as if he was the king, and the others were kneeling down by his feet. Malcolm was like the sun. When people passed by him, they couldn't help but look at this handsome guy with amazement.
Malcolm suddenly looked at Marilyn, as if he sensed Marilyn's stare. His gaze was deep and seemed to carry a sense of attraction, causing people to sink to hell if only he gave the order.
Marilyn stared at Malcolm for a long time and suddenly realized that she had lost her composure. Marilyn quickly retracted her gaze, and her face flushed a lot. Her heartbeat also accelerated.
She quickly swallowed and felt extremely embarrassed for her loss of composure.
Marilyn lowered her head. She, who had always been confident, did not dare to look at Malcolm at this moment.
She held her bag so tightly that her hand turned pale from nervousness.
Gosh! She was attracted to Malcolm! Marilyn didn't even know when this feeling came up.
Malcolm smiled evilly as he looked at Marilyn's blushing face. Her adorable expression was deeply engraved in Malcolm's heart.
The girl's face that he had seen in his childhood overlapped with Marilyn's current appearance. The shocking similarity made Malcolm's heartbeat go rapidly, and his eyes lit up with hope.
What he needed to do now was wait for Julian to find out everything.
During this period, Terence, who finally compromised, called Malcolm many times, but Malcolm did not answer.
Malcolm turned his phone to silent on purpose.
Poor Terence! He just delayed for a few seconds, and he was blacklisted by Malcolm. In a short period, it would be impossible for Terence to see Malcolm again.
Although Terence worked hard, he still made Malcolm unhappy.
More importantly, Terence made Malcolm unable to help Marilyn.
After Terence found out the reason, he almost cried his eyes out. He was regretful. Why didn't he agree much earlier? If he had agreed that earlier, he would even have got a three-story villa from Malcolm.
"Ms. Chapman, I knew you studied in Fielddell for your bachelor's degree. I wonder which primary school you went to." Malcolm asked casually.
Marilyn suddenly looked at Malcolm strangely. Why did he ask about this?
Malcolm smiled and explained, "Ms. Chapman, sorry if I offended you. I am just curious."
Marilyn chuckled inwardly, "Wise reason."
She thought for a moment and said, "I lost a part of my memory. I just remember that I studied in Lochbell in primary school. And then I came to Fielddell in junior high school."
At that time, Marilyn already knew that she was not Margie's biological daughter, but at that time, Marilyn was still too young, and she was unable to change anything.
She had to study hard and change her life. With this belief, she had a very great mark on her studies. At least, Marilyn did not need to be like Sandra, who even had to study from tutors after going back from school.
Marilyn lived with the Chambers family, yet she could never be welcomed by this family. She didn't know the reason until the morning when she heard the conversation between Sandra and Margie.
At the time, Malcolm was shocked by Marilyn's words "I lost a part of my memory."
He did not speak. Instead, he had a solemn expression on his face. Malcolm pursed his lips as if he was deep in thought. Even the corners of his eyes, which were usually raised, sank a bit.
After walking for a while, Malcolm asked casually, "Why did you lose your memory?"
Marilyn suddenly stood still, her face pale, her eyes gazing straight ahead. She seemed to be looking at the distance with uncertainty.
Unknowingly, the two had arrived at the entrance of the restaurant in Vogue Plaza.
It was just so coincidental. Last time, Marilyn met Sandra and Margie right there, and Marilyn met them again right away.
Noticing the frown on Marilyn's expression, Malcolm quickly followed her gaze and looked over. When he saw Sandra and Margie, he instantly remembered what had happened last time.
However, Marilyn's expression was different from the previous time.
Marilyn was no longer afraid, but she was full of confidence.
Malcolm suddenly looked forward to what Marilyn would do.
Malcolm narrowed his eyes and glanced at Sandra and Margie.
"Mom, look, isn't that Marilyn? The man standing beside her is Mr. Lowe!" Sandra said in shock as she stared at Marilyn with her eyes wide open.
At first, Sandra thought that she recognized the wrong person. After looking over for a long time, Sandra was sure that the elegant woman standing right there was Marilyn, who was wearing the most popular white dress this season. Moreover, Marilyn's every move was full of confidence.
If it weren't for the same facial features, Sandra would not believe that the eye-catching woman was Marilyn.
In Sandra's impression, Marilyn always lowered her head, like a yes-man.
Margie also looked at Marilyn calmly for a while. Suddenly, Margie sneered.
Damn Marilyn! She had disappeared for seven years, and now she showed up.
Margie was wearing a rose-red suit, which was the most popular suit in the season. Even though she looked evil with this sneer, she still looked noble.
Margie and Sandra walked to Marilyn side by side.
When they walked over, Marilyn restrained all of her thoughts. She looked at them indifferently and showed a fake smile. Marilyn exuded a mature charm.
"Marilyn, do you forget I'm your mother? Are you not going to say hello to me after being Mr. Lowe's woman?" Margie's tone was sharp and her expression carried a clear hint of contempt.
Margie thought, "Marilyn is an ingrate!
A dog is even more grateful than she is.
She shows no respect to me because she is not my biological daughter!"
"Mr. Lowe, long time no see!" Sandra, who was dressed in sexy clothes, paid all her attention to Malcolm and looked at him with a gentle smile.
Malcolm lazily narrowed his eyes and nodded indifferently. His gaze fell on Marilyn's face.
At this time, Marilyn was completely different from just now. All her body was surrounded by a mature aura.
Margie looked at Marilyn with indifference and did not speak. She frowned and looked at Marilyn with a sneer. Suddenly, she said something. Her tone became more and more sarcastic. "Marilyn, you have run away from home for seven years. I'm your mother. Don't tell me you have forgotten this."
