Bonus Chapter 7

Aerys

I took deep breaths to calm myself. I glared at Harry, but the fucker just smirked at me. He enjoyed seeing me lose my cool in front of Elizabeth.

I ignored Harry and turned to my beautiful mate.

" I'll take you home," However, she shook her pretty head no.

" Harry will take me. I need to discuss something important with him," she was resolute. I knew if I protested, I'd only anger her more. Like the gentleman my mother raised me to be, I escorted her to the car and opened the door for her.

I held her slender fingers, enjoying the blissful sensation on my skin. I kissed her hand gently, all while keeping her gaze. Her heartbeat quickened, but she played it cool. It pleased me that she was as affected by me as I was by her.

" Good night, Elizabeth," I said.

" Good night, Aerys," she muttered. My name has never sounded better.

I watched the car exit the driveway. I was frowning until it disappeared.

' Keep an eye on my mate,' I ordered Coen through the mind link. He was a young warrior and a good hunter. The kid always wanted to be around us, so we let him be.

' Yes, sir,' came his reply.

I went back into the kitchen, sulking. I couldn't stand Harry having her first! It should have been me. She was my mate. Aire was growling and snarling in my head. Like me, he didn't like Elizabeth's close relationship with Harry, but he understood she had a life before us.

" Your mate looked mad at you," Alec said.

" As she should. He went all man cave on her," Tonga gave me a disapproving look I didn't care for. I sat on the barstool. Coswell gave me a strong drink. I needed it.

" They are close, and it irks me," I admitted.

" You need to apologize to your mate for accusing her friend of such terrible things," Alec said, eating a pickle. I narrowed my gaze on him. Me? I didn't do anything wrong. I couldn't help how I reacted when she was with Harry.

" I didn't do anything wrong," I spat.

After dinner, I went to my room. My mind roamed to my mate. I missed her already. I hope she moves in with me soon. I grabbed my phone from my pocket, wanting to text her, when I remembered I didn't have her number. Fuck.

' The border is under attack,' I received a mind link from the patrol warriors on my border.

' Spread, and make sure they don't enter the pack,' I ordered.

I headed outside immediately. The mind link was sent to us all, so Alec, Coswell, and Tonga followed behind me. I shifted and ran to my pack. It was close to here. Lately, we have been having rogue attacks, more so than ever. According to the council, they are controlled by a vampire and a witch.

We reached the border in seven minutes. I jumped into the fight, ready to tear them apart.

Elizabeth

Even though Coen tried to watch me discreetly, I spotted him instantly. My mate ordered him to follow me, and I let him think he had succeeded in his quest.

It had been two days, and I hadn't heard anything from Aerys. I was getting worried and sad. How could he not call me when he had put so much effort into convincing me to accept the mate bond? I hated feeling this way. I was sitting in the school restaurant, complaining to Yorna about Aerys's not calling me. I told her that we started seeing each other yesterday. She didn't seem as shocked as I thought.

" Call him if you're too bothered about it," Yorna said, finishing her drink. I bit my lower lip. I didn't want to seem desperate to be with him, but I needed his number.

" I don't have his number," I murmured, embarrassed. Yorna raised her perfect eyebrows and chuckled,

" I thought he was your boyfriend," she mocked. I stared at Yorna. She was a werewolf, but I didn't know I knew her identity because she thought of me as human.

" He's my mate," I blurted.

" I thought as much," she murmured, but her eyes widened, and she closed her mouth with her hand.

" I know you're a werewolf," I told her.

" How?"

" I'm a familiar," Familiars are humans aware of the supernatural. She gently reached to touch my hand,

" Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

" I thought it would be awkward. Why didn't you tell me?" I countered.

" We are not allowed to tell, but I've been dying to tell you," I saw sincerity in her gaze.

" Aerys is my alpha. He'd been searching for his mate for years until he gave up. So, he started seeing.." she trailed. My heart hurt. Aerys was a manwhore.

" He has sluts?" I exhaled, acting like it didn't hurt, but it did.

" Yes, but be aware of Liace Yule. They were fuck buddies, but she is in love with him," she warned me.

Yorna went on to warn me about the girls that were involved with my mate. It wasn't pleasant for me.

In the evening, after class, I went back to the penthouse. I glanced at the phone again, hoping to receive a message from Aerys, but nothing happened. I went to bed feeling sullen.

I woke up to the bright sunshine on my skin. I rolled out of bed and did my morning routine. I didn’t have class today, so I decided to stay indoors. It was chilly today. I was reading a romance novel when my phone rang. My heart was suddenly thumping in my chest as I looked at the strange number on my screen,

“Hello,” I answered reluctantly. It was silent for a moment, and by the thumping of his heart, I knew already who was at the other end of the call. Aerys.

“ Aerys,” I called his name softly.

“ Elizabeth,” my name sounded so sensual when he called it.

“ Good morning,” he said.

“ Good morning to you,”

“ What are you doing this morning?” he asked.

“ I’m at home, reading,” I answered.

“ Oh, good. I’m at your front door,” he said. I jumped from the sofa and rushed upstairs.

“ What are you doing here, and how do you know where I live?” I asked, brushing my hair and fixing my appearance. I felt giddy, like a schoolgirl. I don’t remember feeling like I did.

“ Can we go out for breakfast?” he asked casually. With my speed, I went to the door. I inhaled and opened the door. He lowered his phone from his ear. He smiled, a smile that showed his perfect white teeth, and my heart stopped beating for a moment. He had the perfect smile. He looked gorgeous as ever. His delicious dark locks tousled to perfection. The alluring smell of rain and chocolate filled my nose.

" Hey," I was breathless.

I pulled the door fully open to let him in. He walked in and scanned my place with his eyes.

" I'll wear a coat. It's a little chilly outside today," I said and went upstairs. I pulled out a high-collar coat and wore tight jeans and heels. Aerys was standing against the window when I went downstairs. I was in a trance; he was so good-looking. He sensed me and turned, his breath caught in his chest. He gave me his hand, and I took it. I was startled when sparks and tingles erupted on my skin. I'll get used to it. I felt his heart skip, too.

Aerys took me to his car and opened the passenger seat for me. Now, it was a game of getting to know each other better.

" So, you know I'm 23, the second born, and have four siblings. My friends are the ones you met. My favorite food is pizza. I listen to RnB music, but I love classics, too. What else??? Oh, my favorite movies are John Wick and the Godfather. I run a company alongside my father, " he told me. I nodded. John Wick, the Godfather? Why? I didn't see the hype. I thought.

" And you?" he asked.

" I'm 24, as you already know, I graduated from Stanford University, and I have a shipping company. I also have a degree in medicine, but I don't practice," I told him. He seemed shocked because I was 24 years old. However, I've lived so long.
