Chapter 32
Chapter 32
With the help of Teresa, Chris and Diane could also have a nutritious and delicious breakfast when Emily went to work.
Emily checked her two children as usual and went to work after giving them a morning kiss.
She was very busy this morning. Although she had learned about the situation in advance, the facts and the details were still different from her understanding. Recently, she had meetings with the staff of various departments, trying her best to familiarize herself with the business. Only then would she know the problems.
"Good morning, Emily."
Emily had intimidated the troublemakers on her first day at the company, which made her win others' approval and respect. People would greet her whenever they met her.
Emily would respond to them one by one and take the chance to match them with their names and to remember every single one of them.
Emily returned to her office after the morning meeting. She had just picked up the coffee that had turned cold and was about to drink it when someone knocked on the door.
"Come in," she said.
"Emily, our order is about to expire this month, but there is something wrong with the schedule of the factory. We may not be able to deliver the goods on time."
Other employees knocked on the door before Emily could say something.
"Emily, there is a problem with the doll's mold..."
"Emily, my issue is more urgent. This company has worked with us for many years..."
"I'm the most anxious..."
In an instant, Emily's office was filled with people.
At that moment, her clock rang, reminding her to attend the meeting at 10 o'clock.
However, she could not leave as so many people were anxiously waiting for her decisions.
"Put all the documents on my table and set them down according to the order of your entry. Write a note and explain the situation briefly. Make the deadline clear on it." Emily didn't ask them to queue up based on the matter of urgency because she was worried that they would quarrel again and waste more time.
Emily put down her coffee and walked out of the office. It seemed that she wouldn't have time for coffee this morning.
"Oh, by the way, write down the previous solutions to similar issues." Emily turned around and added.
After finishing her words, she rushed to the meeting. She had just begun her work, so she couldn't be too radical when handling things. Maybe the past methods were more suitable choices.
After three meetings in the morning, Emily returned to her office. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Then, she rubbed her brows tiredly.
There were a few documents on her desk, which had been noted according to her requirements.
Emily waved her fists in the air to vent her tiredness. After that, she felt much better and continued working.
She had to deal with many things in person, and this was inefficient. Not only would it waste time, but it would also prevent her from doing more important things. It seemed that she should recruit an assistant.
However, she couldn't do it in a hurry. A good assistant could help her to make her work more orderly, but it was not so easy to find one. Emily had to solve the problem at hand.
She checked the documents and learned about the problems briefly. Then, she sorted them with different priorities before dealing with them one by one.
Suddenly, the phone rang, startling Emily, who was focused on her work. She looked up at the screen and found that it was Chris. The corners of her lips curled into a smile.
"Mommy!" Chris called her happily.
"Chris, how are you?" Emily checked the time and realized that it was already one pm. "Have you and Diane had lunch?"
"Teresa made a lot of nice food. Diane and I are full. Mommy, are you working?" Chris said happily.
"I want to talk to Mommy too. Get out of the way." Diane's anxious voice came through the phone.
Later, Diane took the phone and asked, "Mommy, have you had lunch yet? Shall we bring some food over?"
The strong attachment in the two little guys' words pleased Emily.
"Okay, I'm so hungry. I need you two to bring me a lot of delicious food," Emily said gently.
Chris and Diane felt pity when they heard Emily's words. They were in a hurry to send the food to her.
"Mommy, Louise is also here. She ate a lot of food made by Teresa," Diane said unhappily.
Hearing Diane's complaints, Emily felt that all her worries from the morning had disappeared.
"Louise, you can't eat this. It is for Mommy," Chris said angrily.
"Emily can't eat that much. I'll help her consume some," Louise explained.
"Mommy. We'll bring you some delicious food soon. Wait for us," Diane coaxed Emily. Then, she sighed and said, "Mommy, they're so noisy."
When she hung up the phone, Emily could imagine how lively the house was.
She had not seen Diane and Chris for only a morning, but why did she miss them so much?
After a while, Emily received a message from Louise and hurried downstairs to pick them up.
As soon as she arrived downstairs, she saw two adorable children holding a bag in their hands, just like two little angels. Louise was standing beside them.
Emily rushed up to hold her two children and kissed them over and over again.
"The bags are heavy. I'll take them." Emily wanted to take the bags from them.
Chris shook his head. "Mommy, I can take it. You must be tired."
Diane nodded in agreement with Chris.
Louise took the bags and said deliberately, "I'll take them. No one cares about me anyway."
Diane stood on her tiptoes and tried her best to reach up. Louise bent down to let Diane stroke her hair. "Louise, don't be angry. We care about you."
Diane's cute actions won the hearts of everyone present.
"She's so cute! Emily, I also want a cute daughter like Diane." Louise was so envious of Emily.
Diane blushed from the praise and lowered her head shyly. Emily and Chris covered their mouths and laughed. With Louise there, they were often amused by her.
When they went upstairs, they met several employees. They didn't expect Emily to have two children at such a young age. The employees were surprised that Emily's children were twins and enjoyed interacting with them.
"Mommy, they are too much," Chris complained. Why did so many people like to kiss him?
"See? I said that you can't blame me. It is all because you are too sweet." Chris often complained about Louise for kissing him too much. She was a lady in front of others, yet in the face of Chris and Diane, she could not help kissing them.
After returning to her office, Emily opened the bags. They brought a lot of food, and the smell filled the room instantly.
"Mommy, this is lunch. This is a dessert. These are fruits..." Diane pointed at the food and said eagerly. She had prepared the most delicious food for Emily.
"Then smell so good and must be very delicious. But why did you bring so much to me?" Emily said in surprise.
"Mommy, you said you were hungry," Chris said seriously.
"Mommy, this sandwich is for you."
"Mommy, I picked this blueberry, and the strawberry."
The two little guys rushed to feed Emily. If Emily didn't eat it, they would look at her with tears in their eyes. She couldn't bear to refuse them until she was full.
