Revenge with My Quadruplets

Chapter 29

Chapter 29

"Emily is Bennett's daughter. She promised that she would make the branch company profit in two months," Cecil emphasized this. "That's all I want to say. I just hope that Emily will fulfill her promise on time and not let everyone down."

Emily looked at Cecil coldly, but she was not angry. She believed that it was a good thing to discover fishy guys. At the very least, Cecil couldn't get in her way in the future.

"Alright, let's call it a day. I will clean up the office. Next, we will work hard together." After Emily finished speaking, she asked everyone to go back to work.

She sat on the chair and heaved a sigh of relief. Although she had resolved this crisis, she didn't feel relaxed. She had anticipated many difficulties before coming here, but she still felt a lot of pressure when such a big thing happened as soon as she started working here.

She cleaned the office desk. On the table was a photo of herself, Chris, and Diane. Looking at the smiles on the kids' faces, she made up her mind.

Emily tidied up the office and sat on the chair to study the project.

At this moment, her phone rang.

"Emily, how's your first day at work?" Louise's voice came from the phone.

"Good timing. I just tidied everything up." Emily's expression softened.

"It's time for lunch now, so I called you. I was afraid to disturb you in the morning, so I held back my urge to reach out to you." Louise complained. She hadn't seen Emily for a long time and wanted to be with her every day.

"Then, let me buy you lunch, okay?" Emily laughed as she heard Louise's complaints.

After hanging up the call, Emily looked at the time. It was lunchtime, and she headed to the restaurant.

When Emily finished explaining what had happened this morning to Louise, Louise widened her eyes and looked at Emily with admiration.

"What a pity. If only I had been there. I really want to see it for myself. Emily, you are awesome and I'm falling for you," Louise said excitedly. Her expression was so dramatic that Emily couldn't stop laughing.

"Alright, stop teasing me. I'm not that good. I just read their thoughts at that time." Emily knew that she was lucky this time.

After eating with Louise, Emily came back to work.

The branch focused on producing and selling toys. In recent years, the branch didn't invest in the research and development of new toys or done market research. They had no idea what toys children preferred nowadays. Therefore, their products were not popular, causing their profit to decline year by year. The situation was so bad that the branch had to rely on the financial support of its parent company.

Emily remembered that Bennett was poor when she was young. He couldn't even buy her toys. She was envious of other children's toys. Therefore, Bennett opened this branch company that specialized in children's toys. He was making up for Emily's childhood and his regrets. Because of this, Emily chose to work here. She didn't want Bennett's efforts to go to waste, nor did she want the company that carried Bennett and her memories to disappear.

Just as Emily was thinking about how to help the branch company make a profit, Cecil opened the door to his office. He peeked out and looked around to make sure that no one was around before closing the door.

He moved quietly as if he was afraid of being heard.

He locked the door and went far away from the door to the window. He called someone.

The call was quickly connected, and he told that person about the situation this morning.

"The plan to incite them to make trouble failed. I didn't expect Emily to convince them. But she was forced to promise to make the company profit within two months. She was bold to make that promise. She won't succeed. Okay, I will report to you at any time. Don't worry."

Cecil kept nodding. At this moment, he didn't look as aggressive as he was in Emily's office. Although the person he called couldn't see his face, he kept smiling while speaking.

Hans came to Cecil's office. He knocked on the door, but there was no response. He twisted the doorknob and found that he couldn't open the door. Cecil locked it. What was he doing inside?

Hans felt strange. He knocked on the door and shouted, "Cecil, are you inside? Cecil?"

After a while, the door opened, and Cecil came out of the door.

"Hans? What are you doing?" Cecil asked impatiently.

"What are you doing in the office? Why did you lock the door?" Hans looked at Cecil with a frown.

"Nothing. I was just sleepy. I took a nap and you just woke me up." Cecil's face sank.

Hans looked at the office in confusion but found nothing suspicious.

"Don't you know what time it is now? You shouldn't be sleeping. What if others see it?" Hans said before leaving.

After Cecil made sure that Hans had left, he heaved a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he was smart enough to find an excuse.

The first day of work ended quickly. Emily felt that Laura and Rose "valued" her. They gave her such a big surprise as soon as she started her job. They wanted her to back off in the face of difficulties.

Emily was thinking about who their spy was, Hans, Cecil, or both. However, Cecil's behavior was strange. She thought that Cecil was the most suspicious one.

Emily looked for Chris after she returned home.

"Chris, I need your help." Emily squatted down and looked straight into Chris' eyes.

"Mommy, what's up?" Chris rubbed his chest nervously. "Mommy, you looked so serious just now. It was scary."

Chris' expression amused Emily. She rubbed his head and said, "You little fellow.

"I want you to investigate a person for me and keep an eye on his bank account. He might have some secret accounts. You need to find them out." Emily was a little worried. No matter how powerful Chris was, he was just a child. Wouldn't it be too difficult for him to do this?

"It's no big deal. No problem." Chris was confident. He would complete the task his mother assigned him.

Emily kissed Chris, making his face red.

Chris looked different from his usual self when he was shy. Emily felt that he was cuter and couldn't help but kiss him again.

"Mommy, that's enough." Chris covered his face with both hands and stared at Emily with his widened eyes.

  Emily couldn't help but laugh.

"Mommy, Chris, what are you doing?" Diane asked.

Emily and Chris looked at each other and whispered, "This is our secret."

"What? What are you guys doing? Why don't you ask me to join you?" Diane ran over and said angrily.

"We're playing a kissing game." Emily picked up Diane and gave her a kiss.

"Mommy, I want to kiss you back." Diane chuckled.

Then, the three kissed each other and laughed happily.
