Revenge with My Quadruplets

Chapter 12

Chapter 12

"Stop, Emily. Do you want to kill me?" Rose uttered a few words.

"Tell them to stop. Don't follow us anymore." Emily loosened her grip on Rose's neck.

Rose was terrified. She was afraid that Emily would strangle her.

"Stop! All of you, stop." Rose was very scared, tears streamed from her eyes.

The bodyguards looked at each other. They halted their steps but did not leave.

Emily hated Rose so much that she wanted her dead. But Emily had Chris and Diane, so she wouldn't do it and was only threatening her.

Emily saw a dried riverbed beside the cemetery and dragged Rose toward it.

"Rose, you don't think I'll kill you, right? You have brought me here to see the graves of my children, and yet you have ambushed me with these men. I know you are trying to kill me. I'm acting in self-defense. What do you think the jury will say?" Emily shouted so everyone could hear her.

The bodyguards didn't dare to get close. Emily brought Rose to the side of the riverbed.

"Rose, drop dead!" Emily clutched Rose and pushed Rose to the edge of the riverbed.

Rose only had her toes on the ground. If Emily let go of her, Rose would lose her balance and fall.

  "No, help!" Rose shrieked.

At this moment, everyone's attention was on Rose. The bodyguards were shocked. They would be punished if something happened to Rose.

"Rose, this is for my children!" After Emily finished speaking, she pushed Rose hard.

  Rose screamed and fell off.

Rose was rolling from a slope. All the bodyguards ran after her.

Rose kept shrieking, as she rolled down faster. The bodyguards could not catch up with her.

In the end, Rose hit a stone and stopped.

"I'm bleeding!" Rose's head crashed into the stone. Her head was bleeding, and there were many bruises on her body. She was in great pain.

Rose lost her mind in anger and yelled, "Kill Emily! Kill her!"

Everyone turned around, yet Emily had already escaped.

"Find her! Kill her!" Rose's voice was sharp.

The bodyguards nodded and chased after Emily.

The rest of the bodyguards surrounded Rose. They were told to follow Rose's orders and keep her safe.

Now that Rose was injured, they had to take her back immediately.

Rose thought Emily would kill her and all the bodyguards' attention was on Rose. Then, Emily took the chance to escape.

When the bodyguards realized that Emily was gone, it was too late.

Emily had never been to this place before. She didn't know the roads here, so she kept running along the dried-out riverbed.

After a while, there was water in the riverbed, and the land under her feet was soft.

Emily slipped and fell into the river.

However, it somehow helped her to get away from those bodyguards.

Emily heard the bodyguards shouting from the shore. She held her breath and swam upstream.

The bodyguards lost track of Emily and went in other directions to look for her.

Emily kept swimming. After a while, she was exhausted and couldn't go any further.

Suddenly, she felt a force pulling her in the opposite direction.

"Terry, what are you doing? I got a big fish here. It's very strong. I can't pull it up. Come and help me," a man shouted.

It was Nick, a member of the Field family. Today, Nick was fishing with Terry and Derek, his good friends.

"Just now, you've said that the fish in this river only took Derek's bait because he is handsome. Now that I have caught a fish, what do you think now?" Nick pulled the fishing rod and said to Terry.

"It means that you are also a handsome man. Alright?" Terry glared at Nick. "Why do I deserve a narcissist friend like you for all these years?"

Nick laughed and looked at Derek. Just as he was about to show off, Nick saw Derek's gloomy face.

Nick pushed Terry and said in a small voice, "Terry, Derek doesn't seem to be in a good mood. Do you know why?"

Terry shrugged and whispered, "No one in the Scott Family dares to provoke him, and he can handle the company well. I think there are very few things that can vex him. Aaron and Ian, and his fiancée."

At this moment, Derek would never have thought that the person he had in mind was in the river.

Emily didn't have the strength to struggle, and the water resumed calm.

"Nick, look, it's not a fish. It's a person!" Terry was the first to notice Emily.

"What?" Nick was startled. He looked towards the river. "That's right, and it seems to be a woman."

"Oh no, she's not moving," Terry shouted anxiously.

Derek also looked over. He recognized her immediately.

"Emily? Why is she here?" Derek was puzzled.

When he heard Terry's words, Derek did not think too much and jumped directly into the river.

"Derek jumped down!" Nick cried out.

Terry and Nick walked into the river and helped Derek save Emily.

"So I caught a mermaid," Nick gasped.

"If not for your fishing rod hooking her, she wouldn't have drowned." Terry glared at Nick.

"No. I was not drowning. I was just too tired." Emily said as she coughed. "Thank you."

Derek picked up the jacket he left on the shore. He walked up to Emily and wrapped it around her shoulders.

"Derek, she is my mermaid," Nick shouted angrily.

Derek ignored Nick and carried Emily away.

Emily struggled. She didn't forget what Derek had said to her yesterday.

"Emily, this place is quite far from the city. How do you plan to go back by yourself? Aren't you afraid that Chris and Diane will be worried?" Derek said.

Emily pursed her lips and stopped struggling.

"Terry, why are you holding me back?" Nick said unhappily.

"Derek cared a lot about that woman, don't you think?" Terry whispered.

"Is that so?" Nick frowned. "I think that woman looks very familiar. I guess I've met her somewhere before."

"Well, you say that to all pretty women," Terry mocked Nick.

When the car reached the city, Emily asked Derek to drop her off.

"I can take a taxi here. Please drop me here," Emily said. "Thank you very much. Just deduct the money from my salary for the cost of clothes and the ride."

Emily got out of the car and left without giving Derek a chance to talk to her.

Derek frowned. He hated it when Emily treated him like this.

He watched Emily walk further, and wanted to chase after her. He clenched his fists tightly and restrained the urge.

Every time he met Emily, he couldn't help fixing his eyes on her.
