Don't toy with me: sexiest man of the year

THEY DID NOTHING

THEY DID NOTHING

The armed men, their faces masked by a mean looking face mask to hide their identities, as they approached the cab with a menacing intent. Jace was still recovering, he could feel his headlight and a thick fluid dropping the side of his temple. “Who are they?” He managed to mutter beneath his breath, his unstable vision making it hard for his dizzy mind to concentrate.

“Get out of the cab,” One of the men growled. Angela's mind raced as she hesitated, her eyes darting between the men to the kids hiding away their faces on her lap. Then to her brother Jace. He moved his head. Angela hoped he wouldn't say anything to the dangerous looking men.

“Jace, please don't argue with them, just do as they said”. Angela whispered, her voice betraying her and exposing her fear and terror. Jace's stomach tightened, as if sensing her fear, but he felt too weak to even defend himself or even say a word at this point. He hated that Angela and the twins won't rely on him for protection. He was supposed to be the man in the family.

“Don't ….be…. Afraid Angela,” he managed to whisper in his cracking voice, his eyes locked on the men, as he tried to pull his phone from his pocket. “I had to inform Antonio…he is the only one who can help”. He thought to himself as his heart raced. But it was too late, he got dizzier and dizzier until he blacked out.

“Jace?” “Jace?!” There was no answer. “Jace!” Angela cried out loudly. The twins, hearing her crying voice, screamed at the top of their voices. The men yanked open the doors, pulling them out of the cab. Angela's nieces screamed as they were dragged away, their tiny hands torn from Angela's grasp.

“No…no…please!” Angela cried trying her best to take back her nieces, but her strength is nothing compared to the powerful grip pulling them away. “Angela!” “Angela!” The twins chorused in fear kicking and struggling to be free, but their little hands and legs did zero damage to their enemies.

“Lia! Liya!” Angela cried out loudly, she had no idea what next. She decided to take out her phone to dial a number. Any number! Her hands quivered as she searched for her phone in her bag, anxiously. Somehow, the phone seemed to be in a place where her hand was completely unreachable.

Just then, a metal object was pointed at her temple. “Get out of the car!” A hoarse voice thundered. Angela felt her blood cold, knowing very well what that metal is. She was weak to even fight back, but that would be a stupid move at a gun point anyway. If she dies at this spot, what will become of the twins and ….. Jace.

She looked at her brother. “Jace!” Angela cried, seeing that her brother was still not moving a limb, her voice echoing through the desolate street. Two strong hands grabbed her legs and pulled her out of the car roughly. Her eyes never left her brother Jace.

“Jace, please be fine…please take him to the hospital, someone! Please, I beg you! He is my only bro….my only brother…he is too young for this!” She broke down into a heavy, throaty cry.

Another man walked to her with a long grin and a black cloth. “Who are you! What do you want! Did Antonio send you! Leave my family out of this… I am the one you want”. She stuttered, her eyes so pale and widened in horror. Tears rolled down her body uncontrollably. Two tough hands grabbed her from the back, next second she was blindfolded and bonded into the car.

She kicked and crawled, anything, but it was pointless anyway. All she could think of is her nieces and Jace. Her mind was racing in terror. Where are they being taken? And why? The only certainty was that their lives hung in the balance, at the mercy of these ruthless strangers.

The twins' cries went off completely, which alerted her. She tried to ask if they were okay, but her mouth was cello taped and her eyes covered with darkness. She was completely helpless. All she could do was cry and cry until no tears were left. She felt the car sped off through the darkness.

The men drove erratically, swerving through traffic and disregarding traffic signals. They seemed to be rushing. After many hours of high-speed driving, they suddenly slammed on the brakes, and the car skidded to a stop. Angela's blindfold was taken off her face. Her hair was a mess and her eyes were red and swollen.

Who would believe she would be in this situation? What has she done to deserve such? Maybe betraying a Montero? No, this can't be his doing. They may be kidnappers wanting a ransom. She tiredly gazed out the window, disoriented, and saw that they were in a deserted alleyway. It's night already!

The men yanked her out of the car. Angela stumbled, her feet scraping against the rough pavement The only light came from a faint moon overhead, casting eerie shadows on the walls. Then suddenly, she remembered she wasn't alone in all of this. The twins! Jace! “Hey, where are my babies? Where is my brother!” She cried loudly, with anger and sadness.

No more fear! What's there to fear if those kidnappers had killed her family? At the same time, the thought of the twins pleading for their lives calling out for her. The thought of Jace fighting for his life until his last breath, gave her a migraine that was as heavy as the size of a rock hitting her brain.

She dropped to her knees and bowed her head to the ground, weeping uncontrollably as her shoulders shook in fear. “Please, don't hurt my family please, I don't know what you want, please don't hurt them I beg you…please…they haven't done anything, they are just children, please don't hurt them I beg you ”.

The leader, a tall, imposing figure, stepped forward, his voice muffled by the mask. “You are worried about the kids, you should worry about yourself, you messed with the Montero…you think you will escape from the young master’s wrath”. Angela's eyes opened widely, and she slowly raised her face as tears flushed her pale cheeks like rain.

“This…this…was all Antonio's doing?” She gasped, then looked the man in the eyes. Curious, Angry, Betrayed, Guilty, all mixed feeling inside of her. “You are following orders from Mr. Antonio?” She asked him in a near whisper.

The man laughed out. “Well, I thought you would have figured it out before now, as for the kids and the teenager, you don't need to worry about them, they will be waiting for you on the other side if you know what I mean”.

“No! No! Please, No! They are just kids! They have nothing against the Montero. They did nothing!" The leader instructed two of their men, who walked over and dragged Angela up heading deeper into the alley. Angela felt her heavy, so heavy…. So heavy and something else. She was hurting right inside her heart.

She expected him to seek revenge but this way? The twins and Jace involv ed? She thought of the times the twins spend with him and Jace too. “They did nothing to you, Antonio, why hurt them? I was the one who betrayed you.” She said in her mind as her tears flow freely.
