Alex’s POV

I was putting my clothes on while Jenny was taking a shower in the bathroom.

While the kiss was beyond anything I was expecting that it left me groaning for more and causing my dick to swell to its full length, I was left worried about her.

She seemed to enjoy it a lot and even went for a second kiss with no hesitation, I felt and heard her moan which travelled straight to my dick.

But then her expression changed drastically and I almost kicked myself for kissing her so soon. I was supposed to wait and give her time to adjust to me. But, when I got out of the shower and caught her eyes roaming all over my body, when I saw the look of hunger on her face, I couldn’t resist from teasing her about it. And then one thing led to another, and here we are.

I was disappointed a little when she shied away from me and refused to open up to me and reveal what was bothering her all of a sudden, I was also dying to know what she was thinking about that killed her joy.

I don’t even try to guess because with her, I can never assume right. She has a unique way of thinking that is both unpredictable and unexpected.

I went out of the room as soon as I was done because she didn’t take any clothes with her when she fled into the bathroom to escape answering my question and I was not about to wait around for her to step out in a short towel wrapped around her body.

My dick can’t handle getting another hard on without a release again. And I had a feeling I will not be able to resist not taking a small taste of her then, which was completely off limits at the moment.

I bent down and planted a gentle kiss on April’s forehead, then did the same for my mother, before sitting in my usual chair at the dining table.

“Morning honey” mom said cheerfully.

“Morning” I replied back softly

“How’s Jenny doing?” she asked curiously.

“She’s getting better, her cut still hurts her from time to time though” I said firmly.

She nodded her head in understanding then added “And how are things between you in general?”

I looked at her and saw her gazing at me intensely with worry etched on her face.

“Slowly getting better” I said cryptically.

“I really hope so” she whispered quietly.

A few minutes later, Jenny joined us and spoke for the very first time out loud, addressing everyone in a shy tone “Good morning, I’m sorry I was late”

My mom smiled at her warmly and said “Good morning dear, not at all you are just on time”

She passed behind me and sat on her chair while a whiff of her lilac scent breezed by and I found myself instinctively taking a deep breath, savoring that smell inside me.

God! Even her smell was arousing.

She was dressed in a black skinny jeans, and a long sleeve purple blouse. Her blow dried hair was falling wildly around her face before she tucked both sides behind her ears.

Breakfast passed by quietly as we all ate in silence.

As soon as I finished, my face and body had become all business and serious as I addressed both Lucas and David “I need you guys to head to the warehouse without me, I have some business to take care of before I meet you there”

They both nodded their heads and got up right away to head out.

I was about to get up as well before Jenny’s shy voice stopped me “Umm..Alex?”

I turned around and looked at her face directly for the first time since she sat down. Our eyes connected and my mind went back to those two kisses we just shared a mere half hour ago. I tried to control the lust from showing on my face as I answered her tightly “Yes?”

“Can Megan drop by to visit me?” she asked hesitantly.

My answer came out right away in a gentle tone “She can come whenever you want. You don’t have to ask for permission again”

She nodded her head and said “Thank you”

I gave her a small smile then left the house to go on my mission of uncovering the identity of the real betrayer, the real enemy.

Jenny’s POV

“Jenny, how are you feeling sweety?” Diana asked me warmly as I was collecting the empty plates and taking them over to Sara to clean them.

“I’m okay. Much better than before, thank you” I said softly.

“I’m really glad to hear that” she said in relief.

“So what are we doing today for lunch Sara?” asked Diana curiously.

Sara turned towards her from her position over the kitchen sink and replied “I was thinking chicken Fajita, what do you think?”

“That’s great. Do you like chicken Fajita Jenny?” Diana asked carefully.

I smiled genuinely and said “Yes I love it”

Her compassion was really showing with the way she was trying to include me with the rest of her family and I found myself getting really attached to her lovely spirit and heart.

“Would you like me to make something for dessert?” I suggested.

“Oh Jenny you’re still recovering honey. You don’t have to” said Diana tenderly.

I shook my head and said “No it’s okay. It gives me something to do really. What would you like today?”

She smiled wildly as she said “Your cinnamon rolls were to die for. I’m still dreaming about how delicious they tasted and I only got to have one piece unfortunately. Lucas devoured more than half the trey and hardly spared a few pieces for the rest of us. Can you make it again today?”

I had to pick my jaw off the floor as I asked her with wide eyes “Lucas ate from them?”

She chuckled as she said “Yes believe it or not”

Not!!

Wow, I wasn’t expecting him to go anywhere near them and yet he ate half the trey?

I tried to recover quickly and got right down to work.

“Can I help out?”

I turned around and saw April hesitantly standing near the center counter.

It was the very first time she was talking to me ever since I came here.

I smiled warmly at her because I felt like she was unsure whether I will accept her help or deny it.

“Of course”

We talked a little as we worked together on the batter.

She was really shy and sweet, the complete opposite of her brothers. She was like Diana in every way. Well, except for her eyes which were a replica of Alex’s that I found it a little hard to keep gazing at them without my mind slipping back to that intimate moment we shared in our room earlier.

Truth is, the dessert was just an excuse to keep my mind off it.

I made up my mind while I was in the shower relieving my pent up frustration from Alex’s mesmerizing kisses with the hot water.

I didn’t want to follow through with it. It’s better left alone and never crossed again. I’ll even make it clear to him if he attempts to try that move again. So help me god of course since he was a little irresistible but I need to control my own urges and put a stop to it before it even starts.

There was no way he was over his ex and I will not settle for being a mere distraction or a pass time.

“So my friend Megan is coming over in a little while, you’re welcome to join us if you want” I told April politely as we were preparing the filling.

She looked down shyly and said “I don’t want to be like a third wheel or something. You might want to talk about something privately…”

I cut her off before she finishes “Nonsense. Everything we talk about you’re more than welcome to hear about and even give your opinion”

She smiled wildly looking really glad “Ok, I guess I’ll join you then, thanks Jennifer”

“Jenny” I corrected softly.

By the time we were finished with everything, April went to take a shower before meeting Megan. The sink was a mess with all the dirty instruments we used to create two masterpiece treys of caramel cinnamon rolls.

That is going to take forever to finish and I didn’t want to dump them on Sara because she still has a lunch to prepare.

I looked at my watch, I had twenty minutes until Megan gets here, I think I can finish them by that time.

I was done topping the rolls on the center counter as I gazed at the huge pile waiting for me to clean and sighed.

“Hey, can we talk?”

A deep voice I can never forget; not in a million years, said softly from the kitchen entrance.

My insides were automatically quivering with fear at the sight of him while I tried to get a firm grip on my exterior appearance as I glanced at him with a guarded expression.

I didn’t want to be rude but at the same time I didn’t have it in me to pretend I was fine being around Lucas.

Because I wasn’t.

I probably won’t, ever.
