Trial

Alpha Derick's POV

Anthony and I stood there in absolute silence as we both went into deep thought.

Everything was becoming confusing, and I knew whom to meet, but my pride wouldn't let me.

''Maybe you should pay a visit to the seer.'' Anthony suggested, like he was reading through my mind.

''No.'' I bluntly refused the moment I remembered the quarrel I had with her before I Left for Australia.

''So what will you do.''

Sighing heavily, I sat on the couch and went into serious thinking, trying to process everything, but it was becoming confusing and complicating.

''I think you should put your differences aside and seek her help, she will be able to help you and also the pack.'' I heard him but did not object to it, neither did I agree to it.

The room was silent for a while before Anthony spoke up

''You have a trial to handle in an hour time.'' Anthony announced those Words to me while checking his wristwatch.

I took a deep breath and nodded my head as a response before standing on my feet

''I'll be waiting for you at the court.'' I nodded my Head to his words and walked towards the bathroom.

I took off my underwear, put on the cold shower and stood in it.

Slowly, I closed my eyes and pictures of her kept playing in my head.

I could feel the pains in her tears filled eyes, and the sound of her cries and plead were touring my soul and I couldn't take it anymore.

Quickly, I opened my eyes, hurriedly took my bath, and left the bathroom.

I walked back into my room, opened my closet and stood before it while staring at my clothes hung on the closet

Reluctantly, I took out a Navy-Blue jean and a black T-shirt.

Tiredly, I put on my clothes and left three buttons on my shirt unbutton. I stood before my dressing mirror, gelled and combed my hair before using some spray, since Emma's spray was broken.

''Mate.'' My Wolf howled angrily, but I ignored him and left my room.

I took the stairs downstairs to the dining table, I got to the dining and noticed everyone was in the dinning and I knew what he meant.

Lazily, I pulled out my seat and sat on it while I caught everyone's piercing gaze on me, but I totally ignored them, and placed a clean plate In front of me.

I dished some portion of porridge in my plate, picked up my spoon and started eating while I noticed everyone's plate was empty, including Juliana.

''Derrick.'' Dad called out

''I can hear you Father.'' I replied with a mouthful of food in my mouth

''Don't you think you should place her case in a trial.'' Dad asked in a pleading tone, which made me wonder how important this girl was to him.

I cleared my throat and took a sip of the water before speaking up

''You know the rules, Dad, I wasn't the one who made them.''

''I know about that, and I'm not telling you to free her, all I just want is for you to place her case in a trial. You can't just kill her like a chicken.''the tone of his voice shows he was trying his Best to control his anger.

''I will think about it.'' I said those words in other to end the discussion.

I noticed Dad gave me a look which says he doesn't trust my word, but he decided to let it be.

We all ate in silence until I stood up and walked out on them.

I took the path that led to the Court House attached to the mansion.

I got to the entrance door and noticed Anthony was already standing beside the door, he stood aside and opened the door for me to go in.

The moment I stepped into the hall, I noticed everyone tuned around and took a quick glimpse at me before turning around.

With heavy feet, I strolled into the hall while my wolf kept howling in my head, causing me a great deal of headache.

I walked to the front of the hall and lazily sat on the armchair kept for me while I tiredly massaged my forehead.

The hall was in deep silence and I knew everyone was staring at me, but I wasn't bothered about it.

''Should we start the trial.'' Anthony asked, while whispering into my ear.

Lazily, I nodded my head to him as an approval before shutting my eyes.

I could hear Anthony's voice as he led the case, but my attention was far from it.

''Mate.'' My wolf howled angrily

''Stop it, just stop it.'' I yelled at my wolf through telepath, but he ignored me and kept on howling.

Tiredly, I opened my eyes and noticed the trial was still going on, but I was lost in it. Neither do I know what was happening.

''Alpha.'' Anthony walked up to my side

''We are waiting for your final judgement.''hearing those words from him, I furrowed my eyebrows confused, and stared at everyone in the hall before my gaze caught sight of the guilty prisoner.

I noticed a choker was on her neck to prevent her wolf from shifting, I moved my eyes on her before meeting eyes with her.

Immediately I met eyes with her, my wolf howled with pity and pains.

Quickly I moved my eyes away and lazily relaxed on my seat before speaking up

''This case is adjourned.'' The Moment I declared those words, I could hear murmuring and grumbling from members of the Court, but I care less.

I noticed a lutanith angrily stood up on his feet

''Alpha, this case has been adjourned for the fifth times, and she has being found guilty in her…'' I did not let him before I cut in

''That was my father and not me, I said this case is adjourned and so shall it be.'' I yelled at the top of my voice, which made my voice echo in the hall.

The latanith quickly nodded his Head in fear and took his seat.

''Take her back to her cell.'' Anthony directed those words to the cell guards, who nodded their head as a response.

As she was being dragged away, I noticed the prisoner gave me a questioning look, which I can't tell if she was angry or happy with my decision of not hanging her.

''I need to have a word with you.'' Clinton stood before me with an angry looking face.

''You can all leave.'' Anthony addressed those words to the other members of the court who were waiting to be dismissed by me.

They all stood up and left the hall one after the other as I noticed they were murmuring and grumbling among themselves about my decision, but none of them said it to my hearing.

The hall was empty before Clinton took in a deep breath and spoke up

''I'm here to appeal with you on her behalf, I've known Victoria for the past three years and I can swear on anything that she can never hurt a fly neither will she even think of using charms on anyone, please send this case on a trial.'' He begged.

I knew Clinton, even though we weren't that close, but we were always in the same wood training together, but never in my life I've I seen him this weak and worried about anyone, not even for his twin sister Clara.

Seeing him pleading this way on her behalf could mean only one thing. he was in love with her.

The moment those thoughts went through my mind, I heard my wolf howled possessively and angrily.

''You believe her this much.'' I asked with a bit of jealousy, which I couldn't tell where it came from.

''Yes, and I will prove it to you if you take her case up for a trial.''he pleaded.

Seeing how much he cares and worries about her brought a different type of anger in me, which I couldn't explain.

Angrily, I stood up from the chair and thought for a while before I spoke up

''Very well then, I'll set her case up for a trial.'' I said those words and walked out on him, while my Beta followed behind.

''Anthony.'' I called out

''Yes alpha.''

I took in a deep breath and thought for a while

''Go get her.''
