Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 117

Chapter 117

ADRIA’S POV.

I couldn’t help myself. I was helplessly attacked by the dead bodies. They came around me, and I screamed. Their hands all touched me, roaming my body, and I was pushed to the ground, while they made noises that seemed like a mourning cry.

It felt so painful, like they were trying to rip out a part of me. I was choking in my own blood, and my eyes stung from blood filling it up. My ears were also filled with blood, and the blood pouring out of my nose ran back into it, as I was jolted upwards every three seconds.

It was an experience I hated. The feeling of dying all alone among horrible creatures. The fear alone… the fear from them touching me, putting their faces close to mine, was so horrible that it felt to me that I was drowning in my fear.

Crying out was even impossible. Each time I cried out, I gurgled my own blood, and for the first time since I was turned into a vampire, blood had never tasted so bitter, and disgusting.

Was I going to die just like that? I recalled my mother’s tears, and maybe it was just me, but I felt a little relief—like the bleeding stopped for a moment, and my soul stopped being ripped apart.

Then, everything continued once more. I couldn’t even fight. Thoughts of my friends strayed into my mind also, and surprisingly, when they did, the dead bodies lost their hold on me momentarily.

My brain began to rotate three hundred, and sixty degrees per second. I thought about my dead vampire mum I had never met, and mum’s mother who was also dead, nothing happened, but when I recalled Stacy’s bright laugh, they lost their hold for another second.

Oh my God! They fed on fear, and thoughts of death, so each time I thought of the living, they lost their hold.

I could use them to know whether Lucien was alive or not.

I began to think about Lucien, and they lost their grip again. Joy filled my heart, and I nearly cried out.

Lucien was alive. Then, I began to think of everyone alive I knew. My mum, Stacy, and the guys, Lucien, the professors at school, and everyone in class.

They lost their hold for seconds, then minutes… Every single celebrity and famous figure I knew, flashed into my mind, and I held on to thoughts of everyone, thoughts of living, and thoughts of joy.

A bloody smile spread on my face, and when my thoughts were too much for them, they snarled, and began to run, one after the other.

I felt immense relief, as what could have been my soul was no longer pulled. The bleeding stopped, and I wondered where next I was going to.

Lucien was alive. He was somewhere in the forest with me.

I got to my feet, and spat out blood from my mouth, dabbed at my eyes with the sleeve of my clothes, and wiped my nose.

But just as I began to continue my journey, I caught a figure staring at me from the shadows.

I screamed out loud, and it jumped out, taking out its claws.

It looked like it was made of spider webs, and had ink dark eyes, and lots of hands around it.

If I could get things right, it was a kind of demon spider.

There was no use running anyway, it was going to get me. All I had to do was figure out how to deal with it.

I was told by mum that the journey in the land of the dreaded was short. The only thing that made it seem long was no one returning.

There were only a few creatures to tackle. It didn’t charge for me, but I did.

I ran towards it as fast as I could, and it ducked.

It was very fast, and skilled at ducking. It dodged all my hits, and gave me a deep gash in my tummy.

Blood gushed down, and I cried out, dropping to my knees.

It didn’t stop there, rather it hit me, and I rolled across the floor, with my hands covered in blood gushing out of my stomach.

It roared again, and lifted me up, throwing me onto the floor.

However, I rolled onto my feet, and tried to attack it, but it took my hands, and turned it around to my back.

Just the same way Lucien had done when we had our clash in his office back at school.

I screamed, and tried to raise my legs, but my tummy hurt so hard. The creature slashed my hands, and turned me to face it.

I let out a loud scream, as I was forced to look into its horrible black eyes. Its mouth was full of sharp yellow teeth, and it gripped my neck, pinning me to the ground.

Once more, I was reminded of Lucien pinning me to the ground, and it was a terrible, and scary memory for me.

It felt like I’d have an attack, I couldn’t breathe, and I wanted to just scream, and flail my arms and legs everywhere.

It felt like I was being contained in something small. I wanted to break free.

A piercing scream tore out my throat, and just then, I caught sight of a necklace dangling from its neck.

My scream died out instantly, and I stared at it.

“Lu… cien…” I croaked out, and the pressure on my neck eased up. “Lucien?” I called, coughing, but the hand returned to squeezing my neck, squeezing it harder.

All those moves… they were the ones Lucien had used on me. Could… could the forest have turned him into…

“Video game!” I blurted out, and he left my neck immediately.

“Adria?” The monster called, and he raised me up. Just then, it felt like something fell off my eyes.

The hair, and webs left his body, his eyes cleared, the extra arms disappeared, and the scary teeth were nowhere to be found.

Lucien was the monster I had almost killed.

“Adria! Damn! I almost killed you! Why… why did you look like a monster to me?” He asked, holding me in his arms, and trying to stop my bleeding.

“The… the forest used us against each other… you also… you looked like a monster.” I told him, and blood splurged out of my mouth dangerously.

Was I going to make it without my healing abilities?
