Chapter 96
Chapter 96
LUCIEN’S POV
After a really passionate hug, I released Adria, and looked at her. It had been so long that I had wanted to gaze at her beauty, and get lost in it.
I had missed her terribly, and trying to do things without her had been the hardest thing in my life. The tears on her face stung me, and I couldn’t help thinking that I was a little at fault.
She was still young, and I could have helped shape her, even though it could be a little ridiculous that a wolf was with a vampire.
“I’m sorry.” I whispered, and she looked up at me, sniffing.
“I’m the sorry one. I really am.” She apologized once more, with her voice cracking, and I was pained.
“I’ve been a jerk. Now that I think about it, I shouldn’t have left you, regardless of what happened. I was just being a fool. If I hadn’t, you’d have never met this vampire, and none of this would have happened.” I explained, and she raised herself on her toes, and planted a kiss on my lips.
A kiss telling me to keep shut.
“Let’s skip the talking, should we?” She whispered, still with her tear stained face, and we kissed again. “You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to do this.” She added, and we continued to kiss. We kissed with all the passion that had built up, during our time apart, and in minutes, our clothes were off.
Adria and I spent the night making out, and by the time morning came, we were tired.
As a professor, I was meant to always be on time, but that was the first day in my teaching career that I had slept in.
I, and Adria hastened up, as we prepared for the day, and kept on talking, even as we ran around, doing different things.
She made a rather burnt toast for breakfast, but I ate it as she was already being hard on herself for not being able to make something as simple as that, perfectly. She kept on complaining all through breakfast, even though we both knew it was due to the rush.
Instead of taking a taxi, I drove her, but we stopped close to the school, so we wouldn’t be spotted by anyone.

ADRIA’S POV
I was feeling so happy, as I walked into class, so happy that I even greeted my course mates cheerfully. I looked around for Stacy because I knew we were supposed to have the same class, but she didn’t show up, and instantly, my happiness turned into worry.
Was she okay? Had she gotten home safely? Thinking about it, I hadn’t even called to know if she got home fine.
What if Derek took her again?
I searched my pockets hastily for my phone, and brought it out, dialing Stacy’s number, but she wasn’t picking up.
It made me all the more worried, but when I got up to leave the class, the professor came in.
I sighed, and sat back on my chair.
The professor taught for a while, and I found it really difficult to concentrate. He taught for a surprisingly long amount of time, and by the time he was done, I practically flew out of the class.
However, on my way out, I ran into the boys.
“Hey guys.” I called out, walking towards them.
“Good morning.” The both of them greeted.
“Did any of you happen to hear from Stacy?” I asked, holding up my phone.
“She called Daniel this morning.” Tommy replied, placing his hand on Daniel’s shoulder.
“What did she say?” I asked, turning to Daniel.
“She said she felt a little tired, and that her hands were shaking, so she wanted to skip school, as it was the first sign of stress. Then she turned off her phone because course mates, and her reading group, might try to persuade her to come to school.” Daniel explained, and I heaved a deep sigh of relief with a hand on my chest.
Stacy was fine. She wasn’t attacked by anyone, the previous night, and while her body may still be reacting from the shock, her mind had forgotten all about it.
“What? You were scared something happened to her?” Tommy teased, taking my phone from me, and I laughed.
“She’s usually not the type to skip school, and her phone is always on, so I worried about it a little.” I replied, then went in between them, placing my arms over their shoulders. “And also…” I added, then blushed. “I and Lucien got back together.” I whispered, and their eyes went wide.
“Why did it have to take this long? You should have gone to him a long time ago.” Daniel said, holding on to my hand.
“I know, right?”
“Aww. Watch her blush, Daniel.” Tommy taunted, and I giggled.
“You being sad is like… the worst thing ever.” Daniel added, and I continued to blush.
That day, after school, I went home, and fell on the bed almost immediately. It had been my routine for weeks, and my body was used to it. When I awoke at night, I went to shower, and started to dress, before I recalled I was on Lucien’s side, and wasn’t to see Derek again.
I stopped dressing, and changed into Pajamas instead. The day suddenly felt incomplete. I was so used to hunting with Derek, and drinking blood.
Thinking about blood seemed to be a mistake because I suddenly craved it, and the realization that I couldn’t have or taste it anymore, was a little frightening.
I forced myself to sleep that night, forsaking dinner, and the next day, I was awoken by the sun spilling on my face.
It hadn’t exactly been a nice night, though. I kept on having bad dreams all through the night—dreams of me, drinking more blood.
When I got to school, I checked my schedule, and saw that my first class was history. That was delighting enough. I got to see Lucien. I arranged my books, and made my way to class, and just about the same time, Stacy emerged from another corridor.
“Stacy!” I called, delighted to see her. She didn’t stop walking, so I ran to her, and placed an arm around her shoulders.
Surprisingly, she jerked it off her shoulders with her hands, and turned to face me, leaving me stunned.
“I think we need a break from each other. You have changed, and sorry, I don’t like that change. Let’s just stop talking to each other.” She said, and walked away, leaving me staring at the space she had occupied a moment ago.
We should… stop talking?
