Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 46

Chapter 46

ADRIA’S POV

“Why do you think so?” I asked her immediately and she sighed.

“I do see him take a lot of girls into his house. At first I didn’t suspect him. I thought they were all going to him for tutoring, but thinking of it, they were too much for tutoring. Everyday is a brand new girl going through his door or coming out, and they’re always female. So, when I saw this post, that was exactly what came to mind. I think he’s the one that’s been talked about.” She explained, staring at her phone which was still in my hand but I found it quite hard to believe.

There was no way Lucien was juggling students. I rarely saw him with any other girl except me. He felt for me. I saw it in his eyes. Although I knew that was what girls who ended up being played always said about the guys who had deceived them, I just couldn’t believe it.

Lucien couldn’t lie. He wasn’t that kind of person. Even if he truly had girls going in and out of his house, it was probably for tutoring. Yeah, he was handsome and a lot of girls probably went to him for help, but that didn’t mean he was dating them all. There was just no way it could be.

“I don’t think…” I was saying but she touched my arm lightly.

“Can you please not tell him?” She asked gently. “I don’t want him to think I spread the rumor because once or twice, maybe a couple of times he’s seen me witness girls coming out of his house so I don’t want him thinking I tattled on him. Although I know if he sees this post, he might be led to think it was me, but if you ask him about it, he might conclude it’s me.” She said, and I wondered why she thought I would tell Lucien. She didn’t know we were dating, did she?

Because it was only if I was his lover that I could ask him such and to her, I wasn’t his lover but a student.

“Why would I ask him about him having lots of girls going to his place. It’s not my business. I’m just his student. It’s not like he’s my lover.” I pointed out, and she looked a little taken aback. Then she bit her lip and her eyes shifted all around before she took my hands in hers.

“You guys are quite close.” She said in a rush. “I see you guys talking in the hallway. You always go to his office, you go to his house and I’m sure you guys have some kind of friendly relationship even though you’re not exactly friends so that’s just what I thought. You might be inclined to ask him.” She explained, and I chuckled.

“We’re not like that.” I lied, and we started to walk away from the spot we stood.

Even if she hadn’t asked me, I wasn’t going to ask Lucien because I didn’t want him thinking I suspected him. I wanted him to know I trusted him and if it wasn’t him like I felt, it would be an embarrassment to ask him about something he never did, but then I couldn’t think like that too. It wasn’t like Monica was the one telling lies.

Either way, Lucien had girls flocking in and out of his house but that didn’t mean he was dating them. There was nothing to ask him about. Monica also didn’t confirm it, she only had a hunch. It was what she felt.

From what I knew of werewolves, they were loyal folk. Once they met their mates, they stuck to them and I wasn’t saying I was Lucien’s mate because I had never heard of a case of a wolf mated to a human but he considered as one and treated me likewise.

Just then, we bumped into Lucien and I felt I heard Monica give a little gasp. It was probably the guilt because she had been talking about him earlier.

He stared at Monica and I could see the questions in his eyes. Why was she with me? Why were walking together? When did we start doing things together?

Although those questions faded away and his eye regained their normal bright expression.

“You’re done with classes?” He asked me after acknowledging Monica a little.

“Yes. I was done about an hour ago. Is it okay if I miss our tutoring session today? I and Monica are reading together at a kind of library.” I told him and he glanced at Monica a while before turning back to me. I gave him a bright smile because I knew he didn’t like the fact that she was taking up the time we were meant to spend together.

“That’s fine. Just make sure you don’t fall back on your reading or get distracted.” He said, and shot Monica a wary look before leaving.

“He’s handsome, that’s a given. I guess that’s why the girls around him are a lot.” Monica muttered and I looked back at Lucien because I knew he had probably heard what she had said.

“Maybe he’s unable to reject them.” I said when we were a little faraway from him, hoping he wasn’t listening. I didn’t want him thinking in the least that I believed in such rumors.

“Maybe he doesn’t want to reject them. Men never reject pretty ladies.” She added with a scoff.

“You sound like you don’t like him.” I pointed out in a low voice.

“I liked him at first but…” She started and my ears perked up.

“In what way?” I asked immediately. I hoped it wasn’t a crush because crushes were hard to stomp away and if she had a crush on him at first then she might still have a crush on him and not be aware of it.

“Just the way I like every man who has great features physically and facially.” She replied casually as she flicked her hair away from her face. “But I dislike men who go around with ladies all because he knows he’s handsome so I kept my distance but I don’t dislike him totally because he’s just so handsome.” She admitted and even that made me uncomfortable.

Her acknowledging his handsomeness was uncomfortable, and just then, I caught sight of Stacy in a black car and the way she stared at me was…

Accusing.
