My safe place 2
My safe place 2
"No, just. Darian," he said his name and she smiled.
She loved how his name sounded firm in his mouth.
"Then Darian it is," she said and they agreed to the names they would start calling each other.
He parked the car, and Lena surveyed her environment.
"Where is this place?" She asked, trailing behind him as he made his way into the building.
There were thick bushes all around, there was no house at all and the environment was serene, unusually quiet.
"Do you trust me?" He turned back, staring into her eyes. His gaze softened, she trusted him but she said nothing, he let go of her and sighed. "We can go back if you don't want to come with me."
"I trust you, Darian." She took his hands. "Let's go, come on."
"You should know that I can't hurt you, Lena. I can't do that," he murmured.
"Oh, Darian." She smiled.
They met with an elderly man at the entrance, he greeted Darian respectfully and said some words to him before proceeding inside with Lena.
"Who was that?"
Darian knew she would ask him, he linked their arms and answered her. "He's the gardener in charge here."
"Where exactly are we heading?"
"We will soon get there." They walked on and finally arrived in front of a flowing water.
Lena's jaw dropped when she saw the lotus lake, "where is this place?" She left his side, running over to the lakeside. She shook her shoes off her legs and dipped her feet into the cold water. "How did you find this place?" She was giggling now.
He shrugged his shoulders, he knew she was going to love the place. The lotus flowers were all pink and green colors, beautifully growing in every part of the water. He loved it right from the very first day he set his eyes on it. It was less developed at that time and the water was poorly treated.
After acquiring the land, he employed people to look after it. Aside from the fact that the lake was a beautiful view to gaze at.
The environment was serene. Out from the real world. He visited whenever he needed to be alone and think deeply about everything happening. He hadn't visited since they got married and he felt it was nice that he went with her for her to have a view of his safe space; she deserved to know.
Lena took photos of the lake, photos of herself and her feet in the lake and when Darian wasn't looking, she took some shots of him.
Her feet were soaked with water and she was beginning to shiver. Darian held her, wrapping his jacket around her.
"The water is cold," he said, leading her to a part of the land that wasn't covered with water.
There was a table with three wooden chairs surrounding it. They sat down and she didn't stop gawking at the lake.
"How did you find this place?" She looked at him.
"One of those days I used to be reckless." He smiled. "I left home that day and was just driving around time. I found this vicinity and decided to visit. I had no idea there was something this beautiful here though. When I found out, I bought the land."
"It's cool. Are there houses around?" She asked, doubting if anyone would live in an environment like that.
"There are some people who don't like to live with the world around. I have neighbors, Lena. People are living here. You just don't know about it because it's underdeveloped."
"Maybe," she shrugged off her shoulders.
A tall guy different from the one they'd seen before brought a bag, he bowed to greet Darian and Lena. He placed the bag on the table and left them alone.
"No one but they know about this place. It’s my safe place in the world." He told her.
"I see, why did you bring me?"
"I brought you here because I want you to know everything about me. The things I do, the places I visit, and the kind of person that I am. But, I doubt if you can find your way here alone if you were to come look for me here." He laughed softly, bringing out the bowl of fruits that were in the bag on the table.
"I can't," she agreed. "Are there fruits around?"
"Yes, there are other things than the lake. I will show them all to you. Come here," he gestured to his laps. "Come sit here."
Lena didn't hesitate. She sat on his lap and blushed when his breath touched her skin. He kissed her lips, arranging her hair with his fingers.
"Am I a part of your world now?" She fiddled with the hem of her dress.
"No, Lena." He picked an apple and cut it into two, he gave half to her and bit the other half in his hand. "You are not just a part of my world, you are the most important part of my world and the most beautiful human that I have in the world." He fed her with the apple in his hand, she bit gently from where he bit from.
He gazed into her eyes. Lena smiled, she was completely in love with this man, there was no going back.
"My world was dark, but you illuminated it with your lights. I brought you here to show you that the flowers are beautiful. You know, I used to think these flowers are the most beautiful I have ever seen, but they are nothing compared to your beauty. You are the prettiest woman that has ever walked the surface of the earth and it makes sense that you are mine."
She crushed her lips on his, fastening her hands around his neck, she passionately kissed him.
Darian didn't take too long before giving in to the kiss. He held her back with his hands and kissed her, a soft moan escaped from her lips as the kiss deepened.
He pulled away and looked at her.
She was shy, "I, I…" He claimed her lips once again, gently teasing her.
Lena wrapped her hand tighter, never letting go, she was never going to let go of this man. She had fallen for him.
