Lena's phone beeped for the third time that morning. She rolled on the bed, stretching her hand to pick up the call. She wondered who was calling her. Without confirming who the caller was, she swiped the screen of her phone and pressed the phone to her ear.

"Where the fuck did you keep your phone?" Lisa screeched in her ears, almost deafening her eardrums.

"Lisa, I was sleeping." Lena groaned. "Stop yelling, why are you calling this morning? Did you have a dream about one of your fictional characters again?" She sat up, yanking the duvet off her body.

Darian was not on the bed. She scanned the room to check if she could see him around, but he wasn't there.

"Guess what?" Lisa yelled again from the other side.

"What is that? You've got a boyfriend? Or did your fictional character enter the real world?"

"Try hard, I won't tell you." Lisa laughed.

Lena hissed, she wondered who called someone very early in the morning only for them to play a guessing game with them. "I can't try harder, tell me what happened?"

"I have decided to come back to New York soon." She said.

"Oh, are you serious?" Lena squealed. Now, the news got her. "You mean I will get to see you whenever I want to see you?" She asked, surprised Lisa finally made up her mind.

"Yes, that's if you want to see me though. I would have preferred to call you via video but I guess your lazy ass will still be on the bed right now."

Lena chuckled at her friend's words, "says the girl who does not leave her house for days. Tell me, do you plan to stay for a long time?" She asked.

"I haven't decided about that, but I am coming over for a while. If I find a cute boyfriend like your husband, I might change my mind and stay in New York." She told her friend. "Oh my God, I can't wait to see you. We have a lot to catch up on, don't you think?"

"Yes, and you might have a godchild soon, who knows?" Although Lisa couldn't see her, she jerked her shoulders, her lips curling up in a small smile. Last night with Darian was hot, she thought.

"Wait, what? Did you do it? Lena, did you? Oh my? Tell me that! Oh my…" Lisa was dumbstruck by the words.

"We will talk all about it when you come to New York, I have to go back to sleep, I am so tired."

"Wait!" Lisa yelled. "Oh my gosh, never mind. You had better keep everything in store for me. You are telling me all the details without leaving out anything."

Darian walked into the bedroom with a tray in his hand. Lena ended the call with Lisa when she noticed him. She smiled shyly at him.

"Did you sleep well?" He dropped the tray on the stool that was close to the bedside. He picked up the cup of coffee and stirred it together. "Here, you should have some coffee." He handed the cup to her.

"Thank you," she took it from him and sipped from the cup. She bent her head, but he didn't let her. He touched her face, looked into her eyes, and smiled faintly.

"Do you feel better this morning?"

"Yes, I do. I should go shower, I am already late for work." She made to stand up, but he held her down and cupped her face with his hands. "Darian," she gave him a pleading look.

"I called Amy and told her you won't be coming to work today. You don't have to worry about her." He let go of her and went to sit on his side of the bed.

"Hmm, you didn't have to. I promise that I am fine." She insisted.

"I want you to go somewhere with me," he said, his face devoid of emotions. She looked at him, loathing the expression on his face. She hoped he hadn't gone back to being cold again.

"Where is that?"

"You will find out when we get there," he gestured to her to stand up. "Go have a shower, I will pick a dress for you." He was back to smiling.

Lena nodded her head, she was relieved he was smiling again.

-

When they were in the car, Lena couldn't stop grinning as she looked at the clothes he picked for her.

He must have noticed that she wore more skinny jeans and tank tops or baggy shirts because what he chose for her was different.

"You like the dress, don't you?" He caught her staring at the dress for the umpteenth time.

"It's beautiful. I wouldn't know there's a dress like this in my closet if you hadn't picked it for me. How did you find it?"

"I bought it and kept it in your wardrobe, I thought it would fit well on you." His grip was strong on the steering wheel as he controlled the car, he stared briefly at her and back to the road.

"Darian," she called.

"Baby," he replied, a smile playing on his lips. "Do you want me to call you that?"

"I don't know, it feels strange." She said.

She had liked it when he called her that last night, but calling her baby felt weird now. She wanted him to keep calling her name, that sounded much better.

"It's true, I just don't know romantic names to call you. I read some posts on Instagram, it was about romantic names to call one's spouse." He told her, making a turn to a quiet street.

"And the baby was the only name that was posted?" She asked him.

"Most people voted for baby. I felt it was better." He chuckled. "I will just stick to calling your name, I prefer that. Or the full form, Helena." He mouthed.

She snapped her fingers, she liked the full name. "Helena is cool. What about you, what should I call you? Do you have other names that I don't know of?"

She loved how they were getting along with each other. He was making it very easy for her to fall crazily in love with him.
