"Are you sure she'd like these?" Darian positioned the coffee cup on the same tray that contained pesto eggs, French toast, bagels, and waffles.

He had asked Tina to stay overnight while she helped him out with preparing the food. He wanted to surprise Lena with breakfast in bed. He didn't know what to do to placate her, he had missed her terribly and he felt starting with breakfast was the best way to approach her that morning.

"Yes, she likes bagels so much and French toasts are her favorite kind of toasts." Tina pursed her lips, "I am not just sure you prepared them with the appropriate ingredients. I mean you did, but there was a time you added too much sugar to the waffles." She said, cringing.

"Why didn't you stop me?" He took a bite of the waffles. "It tastes good. I don't know my way around the kitchen, but I want to cook for her." He sighed frustratedly.

"She'd appreciate whatever you do." She assured him. "Do you want me to serve this on the dining table?"

"No, I am serving her breakfast in bed." He blushed, embarrassed.

He could read the awe and excitement that assailed Tina's face as she gaped at him with smiles all over her face. He understood that smile. She must think he was going crazy, but he really was going crazy. Lena made him do crazy things.

He arranged the food in the large tray and took one more glance at the wonders he had done. Beaming with satisfaction, he carried the tray and headed to the bedroom, hoping that he would be the one to wake her up that morning.

The night before was awful, he couldn't focus while working. She messed up his mind, all his thoughts were about her. He couldn't see more of her tears, he had to make things right between them.

Lena was still deeply asleep when he got into the bedroom, he smiled as he sauntered to her side of the bed. He sat on the bed, ensuring that he didn't bother her.

He touched her hair and stared at her pretty face for a brief moment. He admired every part of her body in the white pajamas she wore. She slept peacefully like a baby who had no worries. He hated himself for making her cry, he should have forgiven her a long time ago, but it wasn't too late, he was ready to do that now.

Lena blinked her eyes, she felt his presence but she thought she was in a dream. He touched her face again and she flinched, jumping up in fear.

"Hey," he calmed her.

"Hey," she let out a small yawn, rubbing her eyes to make out the person in front of her.

Darian smiled.

He combed her messy hair with his fingers and looked at her. "Good morning."

"Good morning?" Lena was still in trance, trying to process what he was up to that morning.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked her.

"I did. Is this a dream?" Lena rubbed her eyes again, energetically this time.

"No, it's not." He took her hands and raised them to his lips. He placed a soft kiss on them and dropped them again. "I made you breakfast," he said shyly.

"Breakfast?" Lena scoffed. "You can't do that," she said.

"Why?" Darian asked, disappointed.

"You don't even know your way around the kitchen." She laughed softly.

Darian was relieved she was laughing again, he had missed the pleasant sound of her light giggles. He had missed the whole of her, just everything about her, talking to her made him whole again.

"People try new things every day. Let's just say this is one of the new things I decided to try." Darian took her hands. "Lena," he called, looking deeply into her eyes.

She felt a pulse in her heart as their gazes locked.

"I was wrong, I was wrong for yelling at you.”

He kissed her hands, focusing his eyes back on her.

“I was wrong for ignoring you for days," he tucked strands of hair behind her ear and caressed her face. "I was wrong for being insensitive and not even wishing you a happy birthday." He took her hands and stroked her fingers. "I was wrong for being an asshole, Lena, can you forgive me?" He looked down, he was truly sorry for what he did but he couldn't bring himself to say the words to her.

He had never told anyone sorry, he would not do it now. No matter how bad he hurt her, asking for her forgiveness was just enough.

"Darian, I was wrong too." She mumbled.

"Two wrongs don't make a right." He chirped in, smiling.

"That's why we have to forgive each other and move on. I forgive you, do you forgive me?" She looked at him.

"I wouldn't make breakfast for you if I didn't forgive you." He lunged his hand to get a hold of the tray that was on the vanity table. He placed it on the bed for her to have a proper look.

"I can't believe you made all of these. Did Tina sleep over?" She chuckled, staring suspiciously at him.

"Yes, she did but trust me, I made everything, she only taught me how to mix some things." Darian defended.

"I knew it! There is no way you would have done this on your own." She said teasingly.

"I was expecting a thank you though, not critics." Darian pouted his lips.

Lena laughed, "I will only say thank you if the meal goes well with what I want. It looks pretty but why do I feel something is off about it?" She picked a slice of bread and ate. "The bread is good and that's because you didn't bake it yourself." She took the bagels. "How do you know I eat this? We've never had this together."

"Tina told me you do, I had to order some last night. I ordered the bagels, just the bagels, I promise you."

"Nice," she sipped from the coffee and her expression turned sour. "Is this your first time making coffee?" She asked, scrunching her nose in disgust. She dropped the coffee cup and cackled.

"Is it that bad? I added sugar and honey." He said.

"Oh my God, I would die of diabetes if you brewed my coffee every day."

"I didn't taste it." He shrugged his shoulders. "You haven't tasted the waffles, I made those." He fed one to her, she winced and almost spat it out.
