The Billionaire's Lost Lover

Chapter 62

Chapter 62

I took a deep breath and told her. "After my grandfather's death, my dad was too busy expanding his business and he stopped paying attention to it and so it was left just like that, and don't worry I won't burn it down. I am just planning to build a small park and would most likely just clear out the old pine trees and keep the new ones. I am very fond of these trees and wouldn't want to destroy them."

"Oh, it's an excellent idea, Emily. You are doing so much for the community. I am amazed at how generous you and your family are." Stella said proudly.

"It's not about generosity Stella, it's about love for each other, and along these years, I have learned from my ancestors that the more you give, the more you get. And the hospital is a requirement for the needy. The old age home will be a blessing for the old people who don't have anywhere to go. I hope my children will also learn to appreciate what they have in the future and do something for society." I said feeling very nostalgic.

"I am sure they will do," Stella whispered and hugged me tightly.

We walked towards the woods and all of a sudden Stella screamed.

I looked at her and saw that she had hit something hard and her leg was bleeding slightly.

I lowered myself and made her sit down before talking her leg and observing the wound. Thankfully I was carrying the water bottle and it helped me to clean her wounds. It was a small cut but it was bleeding badly, so I called Rob immediately and told him to get the first aid box.

Stella was normal now but I was worried as it what had caused her the wound. I looked down and saw there was a slightly rusted knife lying on the ground, even Stella followed my gaze and saw it. We both looked at it and said nothing. I just covered it with shoes.

By that time. Hudson and Callie came running towards us, while Rob followed.

"Mom, what happened are you alright?" Hudson asked anxiously.

I took the kit and started applying the medicine to Stella's wound.

"I am fine Hudson, I just walked into something sharp and it hit me. don't worry, It's just a small wound." Stella told her son.

Hudson went and hugged his mom.

Callie was looking at Stella as I tied the wound and whispered. "Aunty Stella, does it hurt?"

Stella smiled and grabbed Callie in her arms and whispered. It did at first but now I am fine Callie. Come on kiss me and I will be fine."

Callie blushed and kissed her aunt soundly.

After that Rob brought our picnic bag to the place where we were resting and we had a nice lunch together. Scott did not come as he had to take care of something urgent.

Relishing their food with delight, the kids looked towards the dense pine trees and requested me to take them inside the woods.

So I held their hands and walked inside the woods. Stella wanted to rest so Rob stayed back.

As we walked inside it became darker and we had reached halfway when Callie was gripping my hand with fear as it was getting more dark as walked more inside.

I thought it was better we returned and so we turned around to leave.

But as I turned my eyes ahead I suddenly saw the cabin hidden deep inside the dense pine trees and somehow felt that someone was looking at us. But then how can it be as no one was allowed to move around this side but the children were with me so I dare not investigate it further, so I accompanied them and took them outside the woods.

There were a few small cabins built by my great grandfather to rest in the summers for the golfers when the golf course was used but now it has been lying vacant for more than ten years.

After playing for some more time, Callie and Hudson were tired so we decided to head back. But before leaving I asked Rob whether someone was using the cabin inside and he said no one was allowed to go that side and informed me that he had a talk with the night guards and came to know that there was no suspicious thing happening around the estate but yes, Leni the old guard has not been coming to work for the past three months and instead he had sent his nephew as a replacement.,

Rob looked at me apologetically and said he had no idea about it. I knew it was not his mistake but there was something amiss here and I wanted to find out.

I instructed him to check on Leni once and then report to me about his whereabouts. He was also instructed to keep it under wraps and make sure not to make anyone suspicious.

21st September 2005

I am looking at the sleeping form of my daughter and wondering will life be the same again. Wanted to send Callie back to Budapest where she would be safe. But my husband has instructed me to wait for him. He will return today later in the evening and then we will decide what needs to be done.

The day before yesterday I had received a call from Rob and what he told me made me alert. According to him, he had gone to visit Leni, the night guard, and came to know that he had not come home for almost three months. He had informed his wife that he has been transferred to another location from his company and as it was a highly confidential place, he would not be able to communicate with them soon and he had also told her, she shouldn't worry about him. And before leaving he had transferred a huge amount into her account. She was worried about her husband but she knew the conditions of his job, so did not think much about it as in the past when he was working in a different company he often went away for many months but this was the first time he had never called back.

And then when Rob asked her about his nephew, she said they don't have one. They just have a son who lives in Denver.

It was a big news for me, as I was sure that something fishy was going on and I needed to investigate it.

I called my husband and thankfully he picked up my call answered it. I told him everything and he advised me to take someone along with me as it was not safe.

I could have gone to the police but we did not have any proof that someone was doing an illegal activity in the estate, so I decided to investigate it first.

I assured him that I will be careful and after hanging up I called Stella to come and help me as we were both well trained in Karate and could handle a dozen men.

Stella was very excited and as we had to investigate at night, I told her to stay at my place for a few days and we would plan out the mission and lay for a few days.

The next day Stella arrived. Although Callie was disappointed that Hudson did not come, she did not make a fuss and did not disturb us while we did our work.

I had sent the knife that I had picked from the estate for investigation was still being investigated and they had told me I would get the report the next day.

At night after Callie went off to sleep. I instructed the housekeeper to sleep with her and doubled the security around the house.

Then around nine, Scott arrived in his car as planned and came in.

We were both ready and had worn a mask to cover our faces. Stella and I had been doing this for a long time and knew how to change our get-up.

We secretly sneaked into his car while he was inside and after we were settled. He came out and drove us to our destination.

"Emily it's very risky why don't you wait for Henry to arrive." Scott had said worriedly.

I knew he was worried and assured him we will be fine and he need not worry.

"Scott make sure you pay attention to your phone. Once I give you a miss call start the car and be ready, as if something goes wrong you need to make the guards alert. And they will know what to do next."

Scott nodded as we got down from the car and entered from the back door which was slightly left ajar by Rob so that we could enter it without any problem.
