Chapter 34
Chapter 34
The car drove into the Hopkinson's. When Rose got into the car, Ian turned his head away and did not look at her. He crossed his arms in front of his chest and didn't look happy. Aaron was also unhappy.
Derek glanced at them and did not say anything.
"Ian, are you alright? Aaron, have you been good lately?" Rose asked with a smile.
Derek did not allow Aaron to play number puzzles in the car, so Aaron kept his head down and focused on his fingers. He did not respond to Rose's words, and Ian ignored her.
"They are pretty good." Seeing that Aaron and Ian did not say anything, Derek answered Rose for them.
"Derek, as for the problem with our company's firewall..." Rose continued to ask.
"Daddy, where are we going?" Ian suddenly asked Derek. He interrupted Rose on purpose.
Ian believed that as long as he kept talking to his daddy, the annoying Rose would not be able to approach Derek.
"Ian, she is your mother. Don't be rude to her." Derek frowned.
Although he doted on Aaron and Ian, he would not indulge them in terms of principles.
Seeing that Derek was serious, Ian instantly became depressed.
"I'm sorry, Rose." He apologized in a quick and low voice. Then he turned his back and sulked.
"It doesn't matter, Derek. Ian is just not used to my approach. As long as we get along with each other more, it will be alright. Is that so, Ian?" Rose said with a smile.
Ian and Aaron only felt that her tone was disgusting.
The atmosphere in the car was awkward, and Derek's good mood was ruined.
"We'll go to Nick's restaurant," Derek answered Ian's question.
Ian wanted to turn back, but he held it back. "I want steak and pasta."
He thought, 'Daddy was so serious just now. I won't forgive him just because of a simple sentence unless I can eat both of them.'
Now, Ian's mind was filled with the delicious food in Nick's Restaurant.
Even Aaron looked at Derek with expectations.
"Alright, I'll order them for you," Derek said helplessly.
Aaron looked up at Derek happily and then continued to fiddle with his fingers.
When they arrived at the restaurant, Ian didn't want Derek to carry him. Instead, he jumped out of the car directly. He was still mad.
He pulled Aaron and ran in front, whispering, "Aaron, can we share the steak and pasta? I want to eat both of them, but I can't finish all of them."
Seeing Ian's troubled look, Aaron thought for a moment and nodded.
"Later, you can split them and give me the rest." Ian became happy again.
Derek raised his eyebrows as he looked at the two little guys who were in a fit of pique.
He picked them up from behind them. Aaron and Ian were a little scared when their feet suddenly left the ground, so they hugged Derek tightly around his neck.
"Why did you run away without waiting for me?" Derek asked.
"Daddy is bad." Ian was still angry.
"It's rude of you to interrupt others, isn't it?" Derek tried to reason with Ian.
Ian tilted his head and thought for a moment. He then said, "Daddy, I'm sorry, but don't teach me a lesson in front of Rose again."
"If you don't go against Rose deliberately, I promise I won't," Derek replied.
Derek finally managed to coax the two little guys before entering the restaurant.
They came to the dining table and sat down. Ian was shaking his feet and waiting for the dishes to be served when he suddenly heard someone call his name.
He turned around and became excited.
"Daddy, it's Diane and Chris!" Ian pulled Derek and shouted.
Derek turned around and saw that Emily was also looking over.
Rose glared at Emily in disgust when she saw that Derek and Emily were staring at each other.
Just as no one reacted, Aaron jumped off his seat and ran to Emily.
Chris stopped smiling and thought, 'Aaron is so annoying. He comes to snatch my mommy again.'
Emily bent down and hugged Aaron to prevent him from falling.
Aaron wrapped his arms around Emily's neck and leaned toward her with a relaxed smile on his face.
Rose was so angry that she stood up and threw away the napkin. She cursed in her mind, 'She is really going to snatch Derek from me! What a bitch!'
"Aaron, did Derek bring you here for dinner?" Emily asked softly.
She noticed that Rose was glaring at her with burning eyes.
Aaron nodded gently in Emily's arms and looked up at her. "Together."
"You want to eat together with us?" Emily asked in surprise.
Aaron nodded vigorously.
Chris puffed up his face in anger, but he still helped Aaron get a chair.
Emily didn't want to talk to Rose. However, Emily couldn't bear to refuse Aaron in this situation.
She stood up and helped Aaron get a napkin. Then, she said to him, "Aaron, are you sure you want to eat with us?"
Aaron nodded without hesitation.
"Alright, I'll tell Derek about it. Wait a minute." Emily patted Aaron on the head.
Rose saw Emily coming over and took a step forward to block Derek.
Her action led to Emily's mockery.
"Derek, Aaron wants to eat with us," Emily ignored Rose and talked to Derek directly.
Rose's actions irritated Derek. He was in a high position and had a noble background, so no one dared to obstruct his line of sight. Rose's possessiveness was disrespectful to him.
"Rose, get out of the way," Derek said coldly.
Rose could sense his dissatisfaction. She glared at Emily again before getting out of the way.
"Then I'll have to trouble you, Miss Hodkinson," Derek replied.
"It's fine." Emily walked back as soon as she finished her words. She didn't care about the change in how Derek addressed her as they were only business partners.
Seeing that Aaron went to Emily, Ian could no longer sit still. He did not want to eat with Rose at all.
"Daddy! I want to eat with Aaron," Ian shouted anxiously.
Hearing Ian's words, Rose gritted her teeth in anger and wanted to scold Ian. However, she had just angered Derek because she did not take good care of Ian, and she did not dare to do it again. Therefore, she vented her anger on someone else.
"Emily, you bitch! You are really good at seducing men. You don't even let go of my two sons," Rose cursed.
Emily was furious and her face turned red. She didn't want to beat Rose up in front of the four children.
"Well, anyway, I'm much better than you. Your children don't like you at all," Emily glanced at Rose from the corner of her eyes and said mockingly.
"I gave birth to Aaron and Ian! I am their mother! I am Derek's fiancée! I know them better than you!" Rose yelled.
"Is that so? What does this have to do with me?" Emily said calmly.
Emily didn't want to say more to Rose, so she returned as soon as she finished speaking.
Ian was startled by Rose. He pulled Derek's clothes and said in a low voice, "Daddy, I want to go over too."
"Don't go! Did you hear me? You are not allowed to go!" Rose suddenly turned around. Her tone was fierce.
"Shut up, Rose," Derek said angrily.
Why couldn't she talk to the children properly?
