Lucas’s POV

As I sat there watching her tell her story, there was no part of me that even doubted the truthfulness and honesty behind every word.

Not even my psycho side doubted that sincerity and that immense pain that was pouring out of her like a flood, hitting me and hurting me alongside her.

This time, her story made total sense. There were no gaps. No question marks.

It was finally her truth.

But she was positive that I wouldn’t believe her anymore because of her previous lies to me and more importantly, because she’s Zade’s daughter.

She knew how much I want the son of a bitch to pay for everything, and the only reason she kept her mouth shut all this time, the only reason she was scared out of her mind about her identity coming to light was because she knew I will use her in any way I can to get back at him, regardless of her innocence. Regardless of the fact that this girl had absolutely nothing in common with him. She never even met him.

I was so fucking lost on what to do here.

I didn’t want any harm to come to her now that her innocence is proved.

But she was my only choice to put him down.

She kept her gaze fixed on the fire while she waited for me to make up my mind about her.

She’s given up, it was written all over her face. She didn’t care what happens next. She’s accepted her fate now.

And that not only hurts me but kills me to the core. Her thinking of me so lowly like that.

I mean yeah, considering how badly I’ve been treating her, I’m not surprised that she does, I don’t even blame her. But it still hurts nonetheless.

I stifled my wince as I ran my hand over my face only to realize that she scratched me badly on one of my cheeks with her nails while she was fighting me.

Don’t even get me started on that moment when I saw her fight me back so bravely.

It literally surprised the shit out of me. She doesn’t look like the type to hold her own against a man like me, but she totally pulled it off, and she looked so damn sexy doing it too.

Exactly like an avenging angel.

She almost unmanned me for god’s sake!

And it not only made me proud of her, but turned me on so damn much. The fire I saw in her eyes when she finally decided to show me a sliver of her real self and stand up to me the way she was dying to from the beginning, made my heart yearn to give itself up to her. To hand it over to her to seek whatever revenge, fear, and anger she was battling with her own heart.

I knew how much I deserved those kicks because I have been a total dick to her these past two days.

And when my stupid dick rubbed against her inner thighs, against my better judgment, my heart screamed at me. Because I could clearly see how much I terrified her. And it was right then that I confirmed what I only meant as a joke to only taunt her. She was indeed a virgin. Possibly without the slightest sexual experience.

And hearing her story now, I kind of get it. Bearing the fact that she was born out of rape, out of being forced, it ruined her in a major way. It made her hold on to that part of her even stronger and fight like hell not to let just anyone into her life without her being one hundred percent sure that he fucking deserved it.

She was majorly screwed up in more than one way.

I saw it when she forced herself to say that she was his daughter out there in the front yard.

It killed her to admit it out loud. I could see and sense her shame even with my eyes closed.

My blood boiled at the fact that I almost pushed her to go willingly with his man just to get away from me. That I almost drove her to go to the one person she hates the most in this world. And it wasn’t just to protect herself. It was something utterly selfless and damn genuine of her. But it totally didn’t surprise me. Because she truly is an angel.

‘Because I didn’t want your mom to lose another son’ she had said.

It wasn’t really fear for my own life, for me, because I know how much I pushed her to hate me. It was more for my mom, who was nothing but good to her, and she still is. I had no doubt in my mind that mom’s love for Angelina never lessened after learning who she is. On the contrary, it might have just rooted itself in her heart even more solidly than before. I saw it when she stood in my way again while I was dragging her here.

I was positive she saw exactly what I saw when she confessed who she is to us. Her shame, her guilt, her hate for being related to him when she never had a choice in the matter.

Even though she doesn’t know her full story yet, she made up her mind and stood up to me even more fiercer than before she learned the truth. She saw the real her from the beginning. And I never should have doubted her innocence for a second. Because mom was damn near perfect at reading people. It was her gift.

I wonder what she’s going to say when she hears my plans for Angelina.

Gosh, She’s going to flip out and maybe even unman me herself this time.

That’s why I’m going to need all the help I can get to convince her not to intervene in what is going to happen next.

I had my plan formed and ready almost in a ten second span. That’s how fast my psychopathic mind works. Yeah, it’s kind of my own special gift of mine.

I just need to convince her to let me do it.

Yeah, not next to impossible or anything.

“I need to head back into the house to speak with the others. And I need you to stay here until I get back, ok?” I finally said in a clipped tone, not showing the slightest flicker of my true feelings to her. Because if I wanted my plan to work, I’m going to need her authenticity in this. And if I learned anything about her from those two days, it was that she wasn’t really that good of a liar or an actor.

She looked at me suspiciously, trying to get a reading from me, but I didn’t let her see a damn thing.

She finally nodded her head and resumed watching the fire crackle in the fire place.

I got up and headed for the door.

And just for credibility’s sake, I locked the door behind me as I stepped out, trapping her inside. Not that I thought she was really going to try to run away again.

I headed towards the front door of our own house and knocked on it.

Mathew opened it with a curious look on his face.

I passed by him and headed towards the living room to find everyone sitting there, eager and waiting to see what I was planning to do with Angelina.

“Where is she?” my mom asked warily.

“Still at the house. I asked her to wait there while I talk to you” I said firmly as I sat down in the arm chair, facing them all.

“Well, did she finally tell you the whole truth or what?” David asked curiously.

“She did. I will tell you everything, but first, there are two people missing from the meeting that we need to wait for to join us before I start talking”

I pulled out my phone and called Alex.
